The B.E.S.T. Museum is one great experience I have had this week. This place hosts amazing details about Bombay's transport and electric supply. There are small models of buses and trams. Old tickets, ticket machines, lamp shades used in the past and much more to see. It is a beautiful experience and one must take their children to visit as it will be an enlightening experience. Mr. Pimple who manages the museum welcomed us warmly and gave an hour long tour of the place with explanation. Though out of the place it is a must visit for children and those who want a glimpse of Bombay transport.

Tried to visit them twice. There number can never be reached because the landline is always spoilt. When i visited them on a Monday at 4 pm they said it shuts at 3 pm on Mondays. They said to visit on any other day or before 3 pm on a Monday. so the next Monday i visited them at 11 am, they said its shut today because the person who opens it locked it and went somewhere. So basically its impossible to visit them on Mondays. You can try on other days, and write your experience here. But there is no guarantee if it will be open at all. Very disappointing. B.E.S.T at its best !

Very nice museum. Very very old machineries of bus,bus skeleton, model red bus, bus tickets , badges of conductors, drivers & checkers, coins etc.. exhibted in the museum. But many more drawback in this museum. 1.Museum situated in the campus of Bus depot. 2 . Not Proper reception. Gatekeeper of depot maintain small size notes for vistors visited. 3. Museum in the 3rd floor .No lift facilities.so walk in steps only reached to museum 4.Building is very old , but not renovated after built. And also not paint in the wall. 5.But latest or 30 years before machineries or any other equipments , tickets ,etc not included in the museum. But really good museum. Above demirts , take proper action by B.E.S.T administration. Surely this museum will be good tourist spot in Mumbai city. Thanking you

Reached the museum around 4pm and was asked to leave as they said there is only one staff handling the keys of the museum (Mr Pimple) and he has left because the timings were 7am to 3pm,whereas the timings were 9am to 5pm according to google(since no timings are mentioned on their website).I ended up losing my precious time and requested them to update the timings atleast on google as there is no information on the BEST website.Hope nobody faces similar issues in the future.

The British Raj was the period of British rule on the Indian subcontinent between 1757 and 1947, for around 200 years of British occupation. The system of governance was instituted in 1858 when the rule of the East India Company was transferred to the Crown in the person of Queen Victoria. The British Raj lasted until 1947, when the British provinces of India were partitioned into two sovereign dominion states: the Dominion of India and the Dominion of Pakistan, leaving the princely states to choose between them. Most of the princely states decided to join either Dominion of India or Dominion of Pakistan, except the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It was only at the last moment that Jammu and Kashmir agreed to sign the "Instrument of Accession" with India. The two new dominions later became the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (the eastern half of which, still later, became the People's Republic of Bangladesh). The province of Burma in the eastern region of the Indian Empire had been made a separate colony in 1937 and became independent in 1948. The East India Company was an English and later British joint-stock company.[1] It was formed to trade in the Indian Ocean region, initially with Mughal India and the East Indies, and later with Qing China. The company ended up seizing control of large parts of the Indian subcontinent, colonised parts of Southeast Asia, and colonised Hong Kong after a war with Qing China.

The BEST Undertaking Bus Museum at Anik Depot, Mumbai, is a captivating tribute to the city's rich transportation history. Established in 1984, it's located in the heart of Mumbai, showcasing a diverse collection of buses and related artifacts. The museum's primary focus is on the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking, which was formed in 1947. The museum's collection spans decades, featuring vintage buses made of various materials, from wood to metal. These vehicles provide a visual journey through Mumbai's evolving public transportation system. It serves as a reminder of the vital role BEST has played in Mumbai's development, from its humble beginnings as a tram service to the extensive bus network it is today. The museum's historical significance cannot be overstated. This cultural institution not only preserves the past but also offers insights into the city's future transportation needs. A visit to the BEST Undertaking Bus Museum is a nostalgic and educational experience that pays tribute to Mumbai's enduring spirit.
