Very nice South Indian restaurant in Chembur, Mumbai. It is purely vegetarian. Famous for its delicious and authentic South Indian food and filtered coffee.

Mani's is located in a by-lane near Chembur Station. After Geeta Bhavan, this is another South Indian restaurant in Chembur which serves delicious fare for pocket friendly prices. Adai dosa which comes with a helping of butter and Coconut sevvai which is non-oily are Friday specials along with Filter coffee which seems authentic here compared to Geeta's

Nothing but an institution, Mani's is a name synonymous for quality value-for-money authentic South Indian food across the city. A replacement to one of their two Matunga outlets, access to this Mani's will generally warrant a wait ranging from 10 minutes to 40 minutes, but it's so worth it. The meals (both, the limited & unlimited) are tremendous value-for-money and are exceptionally sumptuous, healthy and filling. The veggies (dry & gravies), sambar & rasam will transport you instantly to a suburb of Chennai or Coimbatore. Even their snacks don't disappoint - soft & fluffy idlis, delicately made dosas and solid vadas are the stuff legends are made of. A must visit for any South-Indian food aficionado to relish their offerings and pay homage to this institution

Authentic South Indian food at reasonable rates. Sambar was a little spicy. It wasn't too crowded even during Dussehra holiday. Quick service and friendly staff. Would love to come here again!!

We went on a Sunday afternoon at around 12 45pm. We had to wait only for 5 mins. But if you reach after 1pm the waiting time will be more. Food is average. They have limited and unlimited thali. In both thalis the count of chapati is 2. On sundays you will get pineapple sabji which is good. Dessert will be given only in unlimited thali. If you want anything extra you can have it by paying extra.

    • M A N I ' S L U N C H H O M E • ~ Veg Restaurant ~ I visit here atleast once a week. Value for money ✓ Authentic taste ✓ Friendly staff ✓ Cleanliness maintained ✓ Prompt Service ✓ What we order : - Neer Dosa - 5 Stars 🤩 - Rassam Rice - 5 Stars 🤩 - Idli Sambar - 5 stars 🤩 Clean & nutritious food at an affordable price is what defines Manis. I visit here often to get my dose of simple south Indian food which never disappoints. This restaurant has been in place since a long time and have its many loyal customers. You visit this gem only ones you have tasted food from all the other restaurants and being fed up with them all, now looking for a kind of food that fills you with immense satisfaction. They serve simple food for simple minds. Rassam Rice here is my journey back to simplicity. Go alone or with family ! PRO Tip BRO : In the evening visit a bit early to find a table or your choice. Update ! Visited yesterday. Pics updated . Plz check em up !

I love their food , the quality is good. But it was a big disappointment bcoz I ordered few dishes to parcel and they charged me ₹47/- for the parcel and on parcel they charged Gst also. The attitude of the hotel manager was very bad and they way he was talking was unacceptable. Because they know for their brand they feel like they can do however they want. I would suggest the owner that inform the customer that you charge packaging charge on parcel. Big disappointment. And I would suggest to teach some manners to your staff how to talk to customers.

Food was delicious. Typical South Indian fast food joint. Had an home made touch. Service was prompt and fast. For the quality of food, the price is very negligible. Ambience can be better. Train the staff to reduce the clutter and noise. Parking can be a hassle. Breakfast timings are fine but may not be for lunch. Build an appetite to an appetite.

We stopped here to have breakfast on a Sunday morning since only this place in the area was open for breakfast. The medu wada was quite average and even the sambhar was not that punchy. The Filter coffee was very tasty though and the best part was pineapple sheera 😍 sheera was tooo good! Limited parking and the restaurant is on a crowded One way Street.

The south Indian thali was substandard The rasam that they serve isn't rasam. It's plain water. Wasn't happy at all with the palyas and rasam Pineapple palya was good and interesting. Even chaas is good I would probably go there and eat coz that's the next bear alternative I've got for South Indian thali. I wouldn't surely go there for eating authentic South Indian food Coffee deserves a special mention coz it's from chikamagalur and I've verified it personally. Please inform the waiter if you want strong, medium or light coffee coz the default is light coffee. Better to inform them while ordering about your preference

South Indian restaurant which serves real SI food items. Sambhar and chutney served with the dosa and uttapam is excellent. Restaurant is always busy with continous flow of customers. Ambience is good but only issue is the parking. Avoid bringing your own vehicles.

One of the cleanest eating places in town. Was able to enjoy authentic South Indian stuff, served lovingly and diced with a warm smile. The bright decor and lighting make it a happy place. Service is quick. Food is served hot and is fresh. Portions are sufficient. Overall, an amazing experience. Thanks to my dear friend M S Seetharaman who treated me to a sumptuous meal.

I went here after reading positive comments. But what I saw was surprising or rather funny. This outlet has started dine in but they don't allow customer to sit and eat. So all customers stand and eat. One table is surrounded by at least 3-4 eaters. I did not understand logic behind it. Means if customer stands then corona doesn't spread and if they sit then it ll spread? I really want to meet the great mind behind this rule in this eatery.

This is an amazing place for the traditional South Indian food. Over-all everything is good but they don't use any plates or glass. They'll either give the food in a foil box which is mostly used for delivery and banana leaf and reused bisleri or similar kind of bottles.

Food quality is no more and also staff attitude is very bad at this Covid 19 too. They behave rudely as if we are beggars and don't have any option for food. Hotel is running because of name, nothing else. There are good better restaurants than Mani's Lunch Home....

We ordered sadhya 3 days back for today and they said they are delivering to Thane. I was elated. But today none of their phones were reachable, no reply on Whatsapp and left my family starving...neither was the delivery person's number shared. Finally the guy reached at 3pm and said there was too much traffic. The food was amazing though. But for such events and delivery of items needs better management and coordination.

Very arrogant counter person seems to be owner. Not following covid restrictions at all. Asking 4 people who are not together to share the small table. If we say think about covid he says it does not matter whether you come or not this is the way it is. Please note there is sufficient place inside. Business at the cost of covid. Such people don't deserve to be in the business when they don't value customers who are polite.

Best place for South Indian food and snacks. One must try filter coffee, it’s awesome in test. We have tried Mysore masala dosa, Sada dosa, onion Uttapa, tomato uttapa, onion cheese uttapa, rava masala dosa and all were good in taste. True South Indian taste. Tried onion ADAI for the first time and was available on Friday. ADAI is like uttapa in looks and is very tasty. Taste of Shira is like you must try it once.

A very simple south indian place with good service and simple seating arrangement. The service is very good and the people are quite humble to the customers. The food is fresh and one of the best tasting south indian dishes I have had so far. I am a big fan of Dosas so luckily got to try their Neer Dosa under their speciality menu for Saturday. Definitely recommend to have their filter coffee with every visit!!

The place is a very old establishment and quite popular with the residents. We went there reading about it in a blog. The place is decent and the food too was okay. Nothing extraordinary about it. The only thing that will want me to go back here was their filter coffee. It was just outstanding. Rest everything was okay. Nothing to find fault but nothing extraordinary.

The Tamarind Rice and the Mysore Pak are a must try. The Rassam Vada was pretty good as well. Curd rice was classic home-style. Dosa was a little disappointing and the sambar tasted average.

Amazing food. Simple yet clean hygienic food to have authentic south Indian tiffins or meals in Mumbai.I took my servings-unlimited , on a banana leaf.Meals are also served on steel plates and bowls..choose what suits you. Taste is very good. Not spicy, oily at all.Unlike south they do serve chapati too,a little tweak to suit local eating habits.Along with meals spiced butter milk is also served. In the dessert - mysore paak is served at the end. You can also relish madras pan to end your meal in toto. Overall I really liked the experience..last but not the least its very economical..When in Mumbai visit it in Chembur East.

Authentic South Indian food! Additional option to the Geeta Bhavan and Udipi in Chembur. Would recommend trying the Dosas, Idli wada , Banana pakoda , and Thali. Their Filter Coffee is one of the best! P.S. Crowded on Sunday Mornings Suggest you just Swiggy it and enjoy breakfast at home.

Earlier Manis was at Matunga, cause of redevelopment now shifted to Chembur. We use to travel from Kurla to Matunga every sunday morning. These place serves best south Indian food. Best part is you get unlimited chutney and Sambar with all snacks. Any dish you order any time of the day or month, the taste is same. No compromise on quality even if the place is crowded. And its actually crowded throughout the day. It's a must visit joint.

Average for a South Indian meal. Meal is good and service is fast. What they serve now is a blend of meal to make it acceptable to all. If you are looking for a proper South Indian taste, you may be a bit disappointed. I travelled all the way from Pune expecting the same old taste but found it was totally changed in comparison to what I had experienced about 10 years ago at their previous address in Matunga.

The food was too chill and the rice served for the lunch today at around 12.45 noon was that of yesterday's,it seems. Upon reporting the Server(unruly) and the Manager never bothered to respond, but busy in receiving cash. Patrons are requested to check before ordering. This place lost its quality after the demise of his main owner, lat year. The worst lunch I ever had.

Had ordered 4 Onam sadhyas for 21st August, although we had to wait in a queque for over an hour, but the food was worth the effort. Amazing food for people who love south indian (no onion, no garlic) or palakad food in particular. Me being a chef I know it is quite a task to make scrumptious food without onion and garlic. The restaurant staff should have done better planning in order to provide the parcels faster and handle the crowd efficiently.

After very loong time paid a visit to Mani lunch home if you are looking for authentic udipi restaurant which is light on pocket and however provides quality food. Matunga was the favourite one and use to often visit the place during my early days with my father who introduced me to this Manis. In comparison to Ram Ashray,Anand bhawan in matunga or for that matter Geeta bhavan in chembur I will rate Mani lower however the chembur outlet retains the same aroma and ambience. If you are planning to come by car then parking would be problem as the lane is narrow, if you are lucky you will get a spot near by or you may have to park it at distance. Sometimes during peak hours at ambedkar garden too. Pricing is differentiator, we ordered 2 cheese Mysore sada and 2 masala. One unlimited thali on banana leaves my favourite. One medi wada sambhar all for mere 645.. says a lot during today's time. One observation was in thali they don't provide various coloured chatnis like various other outlets. However my visit was memorable and I was satisfied. Chembur branch Address: Komal Building, 86, Ground Floor, 2nd Rd, Chembur, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400071

Has a old South Indian restaurant charm. Decent small choices of food offerings. Good variety of dosas. Crowded at most times. Do visit them if you miss home & want to taste decent choices of South Indian food. Something unusual is that they serve thali meals in the night too. Obliging staff.

The servers are very engrossed in their talk. SERVICE IS AVERAGE WITH MOST SERVERS BOASTING PERMANENT JOBS. They have to reminded time & again for bringing food extra items already Ordered. The WAITING time is boring. THE TOILET NEEDS TO BE RENEWED & WASHED REGULARLY AS PEOPLE NEED IT MOST BEFORE OR AFTER EATING FOOD STUFF. WHEN FOOD IS ORDERED AT HOME THE QUANTITY IS REDUCED. SWIGGY OR ANY DELIVERY 🚚 THAT BRINGS THE FOOD, ALWAYS BRINGS LESS QUANTITY THAN WHEN YOU GET AFTER GOING THERE.

Have been hearing about Mani’s for years. Finally got a chance to visit it yesterday. The food was really average. I’ve had far better food at some of the South Indian weddings. Recommend you to do a meal one day… and lay the hype to rest once and for all.

Mani's Lunch Home is an absolute gem in Chembur! As a South Indian cuisine enthusiast, I was blown away by the authenticity and taste of their dishes. The flavors transported me straight to the heart of Chennai. The filtered coffee was the perfect finishing touch to an already delightful meal. Plus, the fact that it's an all-vegetarian spot just adds to its charm. Kudos to the team at Mani's for keeping the tradition alive. Will definitely be returning for more!

Crowded, as usual. But i take it as a sign that the place is heavily patronised by patrons. The food is very good with the coffee being the highlight. Quick service, honest prices and excellent food, what more do you need for a great start to the day ?

It was a good place to visit with families& Friends, the atmosphere was simply nice 🙂 The hospitality was awesome, Feels like home food. Especially veg food was really good. Must visit the place. Good place to have Veg food. The Authentic Filter coffee was very tasty and a must try. Limited parking and the restaurant is on a crowded One way Street.
