I have heard a lot about this landmark restaurant at Churchgate. Unfortunately I visited around 5 pm when the outside seating was open with limited menu. To begin with I ordered a coffee and tried out their delicious bakery products. The waiters were prompt to attend and the service was very fast.

Have been visiting Gaylords-Cake shop since my college days and its always a nostalgic feeling, everytime i am back. Gaylords is an iconic cake shop and restaurant. The black forest cake and the pineapple cake is surely the ppls fav but mine is the chocolate eclair. Eating an eclair can get messy - only becos this is super creamy. These melt in your mouth. With cookies, cakes, donuts, mini pizzas, breads, pastries, muffins, tarts all around, i love the ambience at Gaylords. The service is excellent. At Gaylords desserts will make u happy and gay.

Went on a Saturday morning for breakfast and was visiting this place after almost 20 years. The place looks and feels the same. The staff are prompt to attend to you though service is a bit slow. We had the mutton sandwich which was really good. The bakery section had a lot of variety which makes you want to come again and try everything out. I will definitely come here again for lunch one day.

Had Great expectations from this place but was left disappointed. The soup was very bland. The fish and chips were very average. Harabhara kebab was tasteless. The only saving grace was the veg makhanwala. The fudge and the brownie from the bakery were good.

Good Ambience, valet parking available, food was average. Nothing special except for the nostalgia of the good old days.

2 stars for proximity to the oceanfront. Bake was a OK. Coffee seemed burnt and a bit of advise to customers... NEVER order icecream. Mine was old with chunks of ice. They can't fool me with 80 year old coffee flask. The content has to be good. Advise to owners .. take a trip to Yemen, Turkey or Europe and learn how coffee is done. With few inexpensive changes, you can serve great tasting coffee with those coconut macaroons 😀

I had purchased and got a chocolate muffin packed from Gaylord's. To my horror, when I opened the package, and cut open the muffin, it was completely burnt. It was so difficult to cut it open as it's brick hard and stale. When I'm trying to call the restaurant, I'm getting no response. Please help. I would definitely not recommend such bad food quality and service isn't great too.

Had come here for few desserts 🍰 and sandwich bread 🍞. They do have lots of baked goods like Croissants, Donuts, Pies, Eclairs and so on. I tried the Red velvet pastry and the chocolate truffle pastry. The Red velvet was good, it had a lot of cream topping.

I came here for some desserts. They have a lot of options and even baked goods here. I tried the strawberry cream cake, the dutch truffle and the kitkat cake. The strawberry was the best. They have a nice cafe section which is open and well ventilated. The prices are not heavy on your pockets.

Came here on a Saturday morning. It wasn't crowded. We had mutton puffs, cheese and ham bun and blueberry cheesecake. My friend liked the chicken sausage bun as well (not in pic). Had a lovely time here with pleasant ambience and tasty food.

Fancy name doesn't serve the appetite, meaning food quantity is a joke. .Kinda continental taste , service and staff were professional and great. Cozy and hospitable atmosphere. You pay for service over food be prepared for that. Tried- Pasta (bland) and hot chocolate brownie(delicious)

It is a posh bakery with a wide variety of breads, biscuits, and cakes, and with this pandemic in the works, there are sanitizers at places and 2 meter standing zones.

Gaylord Restaurant located in the scenic locale of Marine drive is set in an Anglo Oriental themed restaurant. The interior, decor and service is very upscale and posh. I tried panner tikka in starter, sizzler pasta and veg biryani which is sooo good but then I ordered lime soda even i dont want to describe about that lime soda….

The place has a good ambience! Near to the marine drive. The food was good. We have tried: 1. Butter Chicken which was really delicious but the Rotis here are extremely costly ( Single Butter Roti @125 2. Desserts are really tasty. Tried KitKat Pastry 3. Coffee lovers, please do not order coffee here. It's terrible, just machine made coffee 😔

Worst ever experience, we were a group of 10 along with 5 children. Not a single dish (we ordered close to 8 to 9 starters) was satisfing to the taste. Fish was stinking really bad, chicken kabab tasted more like an egg, kababs were tasteless, we actually ended up going to a different restaurant for the main course. The staff did not even care to ask for feedback even though they overheard we all complain about the food. Never going there again. Writing this long feedback goes to show how badly we were frustrated with the entire experience.

A magnificent experience to visit this historic restaurant. It's truly an embodiment of elegance. Just as you enter it's interior are starkly European and it's absolutely beautiful inside. Negatives are it's a bit congested as pretty much everything in mumbai, and a bit pricy. The staff are extremely cordial. It's a must visit if you are in Mumbai!

Gaylord Restaurant located in the scenic locale of Chruchgate, Marine drive is set in an Anglo Oriental themed restaurant. The interior, decor and service is very upscale and posh. The food quality is really good, dependable and comfortable seating for family friends. We tried an array of different dishes: fish fingers and chips, chicken kali mirch Kebab, tandoori roti, garlic nan with Daal Tarka, Chicken Do Pyaza. For drinks we took Pina Colada, Virgin Mojito and Fresh Lime Soda. To finish our delicious meal we took Caramel Custard which was not sickeningly sweet but sweet enough to balance our taste buds. This place has a wide variety of options to choose from, both vegetarian and non vegetarian, continental and Indian. Service can be a bit better but this restaurant is very popular and remains full at peak hours so take your time and visit. A must visit restaurant if you are around Marine Drive and looking for dependable guaranteed options. ❤️

A signature place in Mumbai. Food is super consistent. Highly recommend this place for fabulous chicken ala kiev. So fantastic. The butter chicken & rotis are delicious too. The starters were fabulous. Loved the concept of mini - bite size masala papad. Good portion of drinks. Reduced one star for poor service. The servers were in a hurry to shoo us off from the restaurant. Repeatedly we were being told, chicken will be closing. The servers are not courteous. When they served chicken a la kiev it was straight out of the oven, right onto the table. The server didn't care to inform me that the plate was hot & he saw me touching the plate & I burnt my fingers :(. Even they were on our heads for tips. Please improve service. The experience will be far better.

I recently went to this restaurant.. Ambience was good , food quality was amazing. I've tried Lamb biriyani , two mocktails and Baked Alaska, it was sooo good 👍💯 😍😍😍 Baked Alaska was stuffing with icecream, cake , some fruits like pineapple , cherries. It's was the best desert I've ever tried.. Service was not upto the mark but I like the food and ambience 😊

Service with a smile is not their forte. Maybe ots because they know they have a loyal customer base for what they make. It is a regular breakfast place for most of the south Bombay veterans. Their bakery starts stocking the fresh stuff on the racks by 10 and that's the best time to get here if you want to have a pot of tea and a breakfast of soft and flaky croissants, puffs, stuffed buns and pide. We had the spiced tea with he cheese mushroom chicken bun, chicken pide and mutton puffs. All were fresh and tasty. There Japanese cheesecake is popular and so are the variety of breads they bake

Place is undergoing renovations and so the restaurant operates from the outside area only. Been at a time when lunch time was not at its peak so got a table pretty easily. A bit of disoriented staff as a variety of waiters kept on asking for type of water preferred (bottle or regular) but did not serve any water. Food is good both in size and taste...priced slightly on the higher side but ok for the place, portions and taste. Alcohol is available, not sure of valet parking, but pay and park is available at some distance from the restaurant. Overall a fairly decent experience but the service has to improve if the restaurant feels like improving its business and customer base.

Fabulous bakery and comfortable seating to have them. All the fresh things I loved were the Japanese cheese cake, Swiss chocolate pastry, bread pudding and nutty pie.

Breakfast is served in outer open area. Watch the city become active as you have your breakfast. 3 egg omlette with ham and cheese was very good. Assam masala Tea served in a pot. You must shop for cake, chicken pattice and other savouries and carry home. Their bake Shop adjoins the restaurant

A clear favourite in the area for decades now! With a choice of air conditioned indoor and outdoor seating, there's an old world charm as plenty of Bollywood yesteryear celebrities elevated the visibility of Gaylord, again, decades ago. Cut to the food, there is an equally popular range of (heavy) north Indian dishes and quite pleasing continental (baked and sauted). The soups are good too. Some Indian dishes dont make the cut but that's individual choice. The place is so popular, the neighbourhood couldn't wait for the takeaway to reopen during the Covid crisis. The food will lift your spirits especially during the lockdown low feeling. Go for mutton curries, chicken pahadi tikka, paneer masala and laccha paratha if you are looking for recommendations. The bakery in the same premises does brisk business too...fresh bread loaf, dinner rolls, biscuits, tea cakes and pastries at 11am set you up for tea time rather well and the next day's breakfast. They do French baguettes too! Meet Jagdish, the restaurant cashier, who is super busy but friendly and helps you with the menu if you are unfamiliar. Have fun!

Old world charm. The servers really good, caring , all from the era gone. Serve you like you are visiting their home . The food is really good as has been since the past 40 years at least. The bakery still is the best.

The food is average for the hype of this place. There are many upcoming bakeries in Mumbai serving better quality baked goods. The waiting staff as well as the manager were quite rude and serving water seemed like quite a huge task for them! Coming here for the sake of history and nostalgia is the only valid reason to visit this place!

This place is always delightful.. I have enjoyed my meals here and I have tried almost all of their bakery items. I keep trying because I like their preparation. Their pies are very good. Macaroons go out the moment they're in.. I hope you have a great time

Lovely, homely and the food never fails us. Ben our favourite family restaurant, third generation running! However, I think they may be starting to take it for granted. We were 13 who they squeezed on a table at meant for 11 at best, and they did not even seem to be apologetic about it. The service was extremely slow so we asked for the meal to be served together with the soup and starters. Little did we think they would take the liberty of serving the soup hallway through the main course! The side platter of vegetables and mash came after we had almost finished the Chicken Cecilia! Sad to have to say that I was deeply disappointed. That too after making the effort to bring in our 90 year old father and have all the generations on the table together!

Gaylord Restaurant is not just a restaurant but also a landmark in the Churchgate area. A very casual and interesting place for good relaxed food or coffee and snacks. On a normal day it has indoor and outdoor sitting for formal and casual dining. The menu is varied and pleasing. The Indian variety is superb and tasty. Go for relaxed coffee or tea with snacks of all types. Worth a visit.

They are really very kind people. I really want to thank the staff for helping us in dec 2019, i was travelling with my friends from delhi to goa by road for new new years and we had a stop in marine drive, mumbai. We were totally exhausted with over 24hours of continous drive. They allowed us to use the washroom when no one else did and offered us chilled water when we were looking completely homeless lol. That was a very kind gesture, ill always remember you guys. :)
