Shrivardhan Fort is one of the two hill forts that constitute the Rajmachi fortification, the other being Manaranjan Fort. It is located in Rajmachi village which 8.5 km from Lonavala in the Sahyadris mountain range. At 900 m(3000 feet) above sea level it was the taller of the two peaks and was named after Shrivardhan Ganpatrao Patwardhan. Other than a rampart there is no visible construction. It was probably used at a watchtower for the Sahyadri region. There are two water tanks at the top of the hill but one of them has an iron pillar in it.

This an encient fort of Maratha history, I have been visiting for last 33 years. A mission. We have been working for upliftmentment of the village udhewadi. You can enjoy the trek along with lodging and boarding facilities of simple but nourishing food. Instead of going for crowded hill stations one should go for this calm but beautiful place.

Rajmachi fort is basically devided in two parts i.e. Shrivardhan fort and Manranjan fort. Shrivardhan fort offers a pleasant view of lonawala side. From top of this fort we can see a part of Dhak Bahiri fort. In rainy season from Udhewadi side of this fort we can see wonderful view of Kataldhar waterfall. Very famous trekking spot near karjat and lonawala

One of the best forts I have seen. Best season to visit is mansoon. It will be better to go by your own bike. Rental cars are available but due to bad road conditions their rents are too high, so better to go by bike. Places to visit: shrivardhan balekilla , manranjan balekilla , kataldhar waterfalls.

Nice place for light trekking. But dont dare to go there by two wheeler on rainy season. As here road become too muddy. And beware from mosquito bites, there were too many.

Rajmachi is a small village situated in the sahyadri mountain range of the konkan region of Maharashtra. Rajmachi is famous for the historical fortress which has two fortified peaks - Shrivardhan and Manaranjan forts, located near two famous hills of #lonavala and #khandala . The fort of Rajmachi is famous among trekkers and adventure enthusiasts. If you want to experience a full-fledged #trek, you can start from the Kondhane caves side which will take 3-4 hours of climbing, but otherwise you can drive right upto Udhewadi village (from the Lonavala side) and then trek for hardly 20-30 minutes to the top of the fort. Keep in mind that road to the village from lonavala is very harsh. The simple and clearly marked trail on both the paths make rajmachi a very popular beginner's trek.

It would be nice to visit this place in clear weather during/just after monsoon to have a great view, because during rainy season this place is always fully covered with clouds and nothing is visible from this place. Though you will enjoy trekking to this topmost part of the Fort

Best place to visit in Monsoon... There are two approaches to Fort Rajmachi, from Lonavala and from Kondivde or Kondhane village in Karjat Taluka of Raigad District. Lonavala – Rajmachi distance is 15 km and it is almost a plain walk, though there are a few ups and downs on this path. It takes about three and a half hour to cover the distance on foot. From Kondivde or Kondhane village, it is a steep climb up to Rajmachi. An experienced trekker takes about two and a half hour to climb up on this route. In case a Trekkers’ Group is not familiar with the Trek Route, they should hire a local Route Guide During the dry season after rains, i.e. from November to May, a strong and sturdy utility vehicle like Tata Sumo, Mahindra Bolero, Qualis, etc. can be taken right up to Udhewdi (Fort Rajmachi). The route is via Khandala, Kune village, Della Adventure Resort, Patel Dam, Phanasrai and Jambhali Phata. The initial section of this route up to Della Adventure Resort is a good road, The further portion of this route is a very rough track and therefore not fit for driving ordinary passenger cars like Maruti 800, Wagon R, Indica, Swift, etc. Sturdy utility vehicle like Tata Sumo can be hired at Lonavla or Khandala for reaching Rajmachi Fort.

One the best place to go for treak in mansoon. Visited on 17 june 2018 . In mansoon , due to muddy road it becomes difficult to ride on roads... We had walked for almost 6kms till the base of fort. Riders can take bike all over till the base..but muddy roads increases the difficulty level. Was an Awesome experience. We went at the start of mansoon so didnt experience any waterfall. Note : Rajmachi has two forts one is Manranjan and other is Shrivardhana. The photos added are of only Shrivardhana. Before planning to visit , try to go early in the morning so that u can visit both ballekilla.

Clean and well maintained. Take a share cab from Lonavala for Rajmachi village and directly reach the base of the fort, if you want to skip the trek and see both the fortresses. If you like a good, back breaking trek then start from Kondivade- Karjat. Enjoy!!

Also known as Rajmachi Fort ➡️Small cars can face difficulty to reach base in that case you have to part around 3-3.5 km away from the base village and have to take walk to base village. ➡️Bike and SUVs can reach to the base village depending on weather and road conditions. ➡️Easy to hike ➡️ Scenic view from the top. ➡️Watch tower for many other forts nearby

A very easy hike with a nice trail. A must do for the view on top, spotted a water pond on top as well.
