Grooms:
if
you
are
planning
on
blocking
rooms
at
Hilton
Gardens
in
Mettawa
-
take
a
moment
to
read
this
review.
Unfortunately,
our
two
night
stay
at
Hilton
Gardens
on
9/22
and
9/23
was
very
disappointing.
As
Hilton
Honor
members,
I
have
had
the
pleasure
of
staying
at
Hilton
properties
that
far
exceed
competing
hotels.
There
were
multiple
issues
with
guest
not
showing
or
being
dropped
from
our
room
block
(guest
who
had
confirmation
numbers).
This
required
several
trips
to
the
hotel,
and
last
minute
emails
to
Christina
the
week
of
the
wedding.
There
was
NOTHING
to
celebrate
and/or
acknowledge
the
bride
and
groom,
unless
you
would
count
a
sign
posted
at
the
front
desk.
A
turn
down
service
the
night
of
the
wedding,
sweet
note,
chocolates.,
small
bottle
of
champagne.
Clean
towels
when
requested.
The
bride
(my
daughter)
asked
for
a
refresh
on
her
suite
(which
was
used
for
hair
and
makeup)
upon
leaving
to
attend
the
ceremony
and
reception.
Nothing.
Not
even
a
replenish
on
towels
or
garbage
removal
of
the
three
tiny
garbage
cans.
The
elevators
do
not
go
up
to
the
3rd
or
4th
floor
If
you
are
on
the
second
floor.
Hilton
solution:
you
are
forced
to
go
back
down
to
the
first
floor
to
gain
access
to
the
3rd
and
4th
floor.
Two
old
luggage
carts.
Our
senior
guest
have
much
difficulty
in
managing
the
wheels
that
are
misaligned.
The
ice
machine
didn't
work
on
the
second
floor.
Garbage
littered
the
guest
floor
hallways
all
hours
of
the
day
and
night.
The
hotel
itself
and
rooms
are
outdated.
There
is
a
standard
of
cleanliness
one
would
expect,
and
this
was
not
met.
This
is
unfortunate.
At
the
time
we
toured
the
hotel
over
a
year
ago,
its
was
not
a
"pet
friendly"
hotel.
We
were
told
by
a
former
employee
who
worked
with
us
during
the
planning
stages
(Caren)
that
this
would
soon
change.
When
I
made
the
two
night
reservatio
in
early
August,
I
shared
with
the
hotel
that
I
had
a
small
dog.
I
was
informed
at
the
time
of
the
reservation
the
block
charge
was
117.00
a
night.
When
I
inquired
if
there
was
a
charge
for
my
small
dog,
I
was
told,
"no,
you
are
all
set."

I
checkout
at
1:47
PM.
I
requested
a
paper
copy.
I
reviewed
the
paper
copy.
The
117.00
rate
reflected
the
block
rate
for
our
wedding
party.
At
2:27
PM,
I
received
an
email
with
two
separate
invoices.
One
listed
the
amount
I
verified
at
checkout
at
1:47
pm.
The
second
invoice
now
listed
a
"pet
friendly"
charge
of
75.00.
What
happened?
Quite
simply
Hilton
placed
an
unauthorized
charge
on
my
account.
There
was
never
a
discussion
about
my
dogs
presence
adding
an
additional
charge
.
I
immediately
called
the
front
desk.
The
front
desk
clerk
was
unable
to
understand
my
concerns
or
arrive
at
a
solution
for
my
concerns.
I
was
informed
the
manager
would
contact
me
on
Monday.

There
are
two
many
great
hotels
close
to
Mettawa
Hilton
Gardens.
Don't
settle
on
the
most
important
day
of
your
lives
Bride
and
grooms
beware!!!!
Shame
on
you,
Hilton!
