Guard & staff are VERY nice. It can be pretty easy or pretty difficult as far as space. My 1st visit they were VERY busy & it was very tight to get backed in, but it was doable. They're willing to spot you, you just may need to use your words & ask. This time I was here, I had a 6am appt & showed up at 0507, for my dock assignment right away & every dock was empty so it was easy peasy. Both of my visits I've been loaded & ready to go within about 2 hours. It can be congested, & it's Chicago, so WATCH YOUR SIGNS, allow for extra time for traffic if at all possible, & BE KIND. If you are loading a reefer, it needs to be precooled to -10, & you need to use the light at 42nd. It'll look like an alley, but it's the right place.

I’ve never had any real problems here other than it is super tight, it usually takes me a bit and sometimes a spotter to get in. The staff are usually pretty friendly. I will say I hate coming when it’s busy though. You can check in an hour early but if it’s busy be understanding.

I gave 3 stars because of the location and the fact it was 2 hours past my apt time before I received a dock assignment. I’m not to sure why people say this is a blind side dock situation because it is not. The backing isn’t bad, just a basic sight side slanted back up with a fence line In front of the docks. No overnight parking available here and I would use the app smart truck route to route me into this facility. It’s downtown Chicago and almost every way has low clearance bridges you will not fit under.

It’s honestly not hard to get to if you follow your truck GPS it leads you straight here. Just drive slow and pay attention to signs. The docks are on the back side and it’s not a bad back, but I wouldn’t suggest rookies come here. The lady in the guard shack is really friendly. I gave 3 starts because it took me 3 hours to get a dock door and because staging is on a side street and you have to get back into traffic on Ashland ave to get to the docks. It’s winter so, it’s dirty near the docks from all the mushy snow

This place is absolutely horrendous. Dont even think about coming here. They have absolute 0 respect for any drivers and they discriminate. They take their own people in but could care less about anybody else. One of the worst places i ever had to come to. I wish it was possible to give negative stars

Pulled in, dock right away, unloaded in 2 hours with paperwork in hand. Not great but can't complain. 42nd pl is SHIPPING only, receiving is entrance at bus stop with white guard shack. Blind back but simple blind back.

Checked in 13:30 for a 18:00 appt. Out at 15:00. Not a lot of room, but no trouble getting in the dock. People were friendly. Check in by phone.

Not a fan of blind side docking but it was survivable. Ladies working the security booth were super sweet. I could hang out with them daily.
