Room faced the highway and was extremely noisy, all night long, even though I'd requested a quiet room. Air conditioner was on when I arrived (in a mild snowstorm). Couldn't get the heat to work so just shut it off. Breakfast not included. On the plus side, it was easy to get to, the room was clean, and the restaurant was adequate for dinner. But overall, I would choose a different hotel next time.

Nice hotel. Communal microwaves on odd-numbered floors and ice machines on even floors. There is a fitness center, small convenience store and a bar/restaurant. The online check-in was supposed to notify us when our room was ready and generate an e-key that would allow us to skip the front desk and go directly to our room. We never got a notification and the e-key didn’t become available until well after we were in our room. We also weren’t able to get the Chromecast to work on the TV. The woman at the front desk was very friendly.

Overall: Wonderful and my wife and I will return whenever we want to escape the city. The service was exceptional. kind, nice staff from the front desk to the food and room service staff. The location was a bit out of the way from the city but worth the distance.

Fantastic hotel, one of the best we've stayed at in a long time. Hardwood-type floors make the rooms feel extra clean without the old carpeting typically found in other hotels. Alex the general manager was beyond helpful. The staff was great. The room was great. Very convenient to everywhere we needed to go and would definitely stay again.

Noisy, you can hear everything outside the rooms, the water pipes, the highway, the hallway...no sound proofing walls or windows. AC and heater were not working properly. Restaurant is very expensive and doesn't equal the portions...food was just ok. Service was ok as well. Coffee in the rooms is aweful and the coffee machines look super old and reused from other hotels. Seeing as this is a Hyatt brand I expected much better.

To be honest, I love this hotel. Beautiful location, inside and out. All around great design with a modern feel. Excellent dining service. I did not think they could top the Hyatt Place I stayed at in Yonkers, New York, but they did, and Yonkers has like 10 restaurants in the same plaza; I’d rather eat the food The Forester Hyatt has to offer than go out because yes it is that good. The employees at the front desk are very welcoming, polite, quite helpful, and as professional as they come. A man came down and started yelling at the desk people relentlessly while I was standing there waiting for them to calm the bitter man down so I could buy beverages, and they handled the situation better than I would’ve that’s for sure.

Didn't stay here , but did happen to do a soft walk through. Very Nice property, looked to be a great venue for events casual, corporate, and in between. Next time In town I'll definitely stay for a couple of nights.

The rooms are immaculate. I just wish the downstairs restaurant had more flavor and reasonable prices.

Good location. Rooms pretty quiet. I really liked the outside patio area. The restaurant was pretty good for breakfast.

Rooms are large, immaculate, modern. Very comfy bed. Service was very friendly from everyone at the front desk to the bartender and servers in the restaurant and everyone involved in our days of meetings. The location was well situated for our large-group meetings.

Stayed here so we could easily take UP-N Metra to Ravinia. It's a lovely newer hotel. Clean, comfortable, and dog friendly, with impeccable service. It's located right off the Tri-state Tollway. This Hyatt includes a bar and restaurant that serves all meal times, from breakfast into late night (10p). Bar is open until midnight on weekends. We had drinks, the margherita flatbread, lattes, and dessert--all were good. There's a nice patio area and plenty of grassy dog-walking spots surrounding, along with free parking. It's a beautiful, safe area. Be aware that Lake Forest has two Metra stations, but only one whisks you right to the Ravinia main gate in under 15 minutes (FREE with your Ravinia ticket). While the "downtown" area looks to be charming, we were surprised how everything was closed on a Friday evening. Apparently, Lake Forest becomes a ghost town after dark, even on weekends. We had to drive 10 minutes west of the hotel to Vernon Hills for "excitement." Besides cleanliness and pet-friendly, the next most important thing for our lodging must-haves is friendly and attentive service. The Forester excels at all of these. Special shout-out to Jackie who made my wife's birthday getaway extra special! And our pup appreciated the treats from the night front desk ladies. 🐾🙂 As a member of all the main hotel loyalty programs, I must say Hyatt seems to be the most consistent across all its properties in terms of quality locations. All the others can be very hit or miss. Marriott & Hilton especially have many rundown locations. And redeeming points for free nights has become outrageously out of reach, including at a number of less than desirable hotels . We used points for this Hyatt Forester stay and it was a real bargain. We won't hesitate to stay here again.

One of the best hotels in the North Shore suburban area. Great service, very clean and nice rooms. Nice restaurant and bar on site. Two stays and both times 5+ star stay.

The Chromecast to the tv never works (the settings aren’t correctly aligned to the hotel WiFi) and there’s no option to sign directly into your streaming accounts through the tv screen

This is definitely the best hotel in the area. We stayed here for a work conference and they have a great full bar and restaurant, and Susie took great care of us. We will definitely be back.

I can't really rate the room because we went there for dinner. The bistro is great and had really good food. A little pricey, but worth it. If the rooms are as nice as the rest of the building they are above average. We might have to go back for a another date night and stay over.

We have hosted two work receptions here on weekday evenings. Both were very well-run with excellent service and good food and offered at a competitive price. A great addition to the Lake Forest area.

I was traveling to your property for work which is a bit remote from Chicago proper. Our group stayed at this hotel and I was so extremely pleasantly surprised. Your staff were super nice and helpful. The room was very nice and updated. I liked the products and cleanliness of the bathrooms. Your television technology was super convenient to operate through the Hyatt World app that allowed me to sync my device with the tv and stream my streaming services. I also really loved that you provided a local telephone number to text if I needed anything and folks were so nice to be extremely timely and responsive. This was everything from wake up calls to food delivery to emailing me my bill on check out. We also had drinks in the bar a couple of nights and it was super easy and a very nice experience with a lot of options. The only con I can really list is that the walls are pretty thin so you can hear all of your neighbors talking and activities which kept me up a bit at night. But overall this was a really great experience. Thanks for a great stay Hyatt!

Doubtful I'll return. Found a half full soda bottle in the fridge from a prior guest. The bathroom sink had fuzz around the upper overdrainage hole. The room fan, even while on low, is a bit loud and blows directly on the bed (which may appeal to some), and the room has not yet hit my desired temperature (its been a couple hours.) No microwave. My fellow guest entered the elevator without donning a mask.... You get the picture. Update! I have stayed at the Forester twice more and both visits have been markedly better. Today, they let me check in early (godsend, as harsh weather is rolling in) and the staff were lovely; they upgraded me to a higher floor, which is quiet and lovely and not facing the highway. Gonna change my review from 2 stars to 4.5. :)

Guest service was pretty good. Room was good space to walk around, pull out couch to sleep on and entertainment. As far as the “grab and go” near the front desk, I wish they handed those things out such as refreshments and snacks for free. Another con is that they never cleaned our room while we were gone like going out and the only thing they’d take is the dirty towels. The room was never cleaned up while we were gone unless we asked which I find very odd. You should clean every room while the guests are gone and not in the room. I would rate this stay a 3/5. They can do better though

Every person I spoke to were so kind! And helpful! Especially when we couldn’t decide if we were going to stay another night or not. Can not thank the staff enough for being so kind and helpful/understanding!!! Would give 20 stars if I could!! :) rooms were up to date and beautiful!!! Great part of town. Would definitely stay again!
