Stayed
here
so
we
could
easily
take
UP-N
Metra
to
Ravinia.
It's
a
lovely
newer
hotel.
Clean,
comfortable,
and
dog
friendly,
with
impeccable
service.
It's
located
right
off
the
Tri-state
Tollway.
This
Hyatt
includes
a
bar
and
restaurant
that
serves
all
meal
times,
from
breakfast
into
late
night
(10p).
Bar
is
open
until
midnight
on
weekends.
We
had
drinks,
the
margherita
flatbread,
lattes,
and
dessert--all
were
good.
There's
a
nice
patio
area
and
plenty
of
grassy
dog-walking
spots
surrounding,
along
with
free
parking.
It's
a
beautiful,
safe
area.
Be
aware
that
Lake
Forest
has
two
Metra
stations,
but
only
one
whisks
you
right
to
the
Ravinia
main
gate
in
under
15
minutes
(FREE
with
your
Ravinia
ticket).
While
the
"downtown"
area
looks
to
be
charming,
we
were
surprised
how
everything
was
closed
on
a
Friday
evening.
Apparently,
Lake
Forest
becomes
a
ghost
town
after
dark,
even
on
weekends.
We
had
to
drive
10
minutes
west
of
the
hotel
to
Vernon
Hills
for
"excitement."
Besides
cleanliness
and
pet-friendly,
the
next
most
important
thing
for
our
lodging
must-haves
is
friendly
and
attentive
service.
The
Forester
excels
at
all
of
these.
Special
shout-out
to
Jackie
who
made
my
wife's
birthday
getaway
extra
special!
And
our
pup
appreciated
the
treats
from
the
night
front
desk
ladies.

As
a
member
of
all
the
main
hotel
loyalty
programs,
I
must
say
Hyatt
seems
to
be
the
most
consistent
across
all
its
properties
in
terms
of
quality
locations.
All
the
others
can
be
very
hit
or
miss.
Marriott
&
Hilton
especially
have
many
rundown
locations.
And
redeeming
points
for
free
nights
has
become
outrageously
out
of
reach,
including
at
a
number
of
less
than
desirable
hotels
.
We
used
points
for
this
Hyatt
Forester
stay
and
it
was
a
real
bargain.
We
won't
hesitate
to
stay
here
again.
