An absolute must-go for anyone visiting Pittsburgh for the first time. Just make sure you are really hungry. Obvious Pro-Tip: The sandwiches taste best when chased by a great beer.

This Primanti Bros. (South Side) is surprisingly charming. Despite how slammed they were, the bartender was incredibly kind and upbeat, the food was delicious, and we received everything in a timely manner. The atmosphere was comfortable and laid back, including the other customers. We ordered the Pittsburgher, and the texture of the patty wasn't for me. It was still a good burger regardless. I want to come back to try their sandwiches and enjoy more Iron City.

The pastrami and cheese sandwich is amazing. French fries in sandwiches is a first for me but I’m not complaining. It’s delicious. Go here for the ultimate Pittsburgh experience. 🥪 ❤️

This is my first time In Pittsburgh and I was told I HAD to come here. I was absolutely blown away at how great this place is! Cat is a great server. She recommended what was a top seller on the menu and gave recommendations of what her favorites were. I got the pastrami & cheese, which was top tier. I had to try another sandwich and got the Pitts-burger. Also a top tier sandwich. I also was fortunate to meet Michelle who was also very personable. I will definitely come back here, and I suggest you stop in and try a sand which. Top tier!!

I highly recommend the Pitts-Burger, the honey buffalo wings, and the peanut butter pie. I moved to Pittsburgh 5 years ago, and I’ve been in love with this place ever since.

I can't rate the food this time because we wouldn't eat there. After waiting 20min to get tables cleaned off for our group, we decided it was best to leave. First, we were frustrated that counter customers kept getting their orders in while the staff made us wait to sit. While we were standing around we took a good look at the kitchen and it was filthy. I'm sorry I didn't get a picture to support my post. There was food, trash and dirty rags on the counters (food prep areas), on the floor and al around the griddle. I used to love this place as backup to the Strip location, but we'll never go back again after seeing how dirty it was.

Got the Ruben. It was a giant hot wet meaty mess, which for some would be a siren song. For me it was too difficult to pick up, bite into, and not take half the filling out with each bite. The bread was soggy and easily smashed when touched, like Wonderbread. The meat was plentiful but very peppery and acidic. Could've used a wash down before roasting to get some of the bite out. If there was sauerkraut it was buried. For a sandwich that size, the price was right, the waitress was friendly, the place is clearly beloved by the locals. I'd try another location and a different sandwich to see if it was just this place or just that sandwich.

I can say it is the best Sanwiche in the whole world, flew all the way from Costa Rica to try it, ordered the Corned beef twice, too bad I couldn smugle the 3rd one on the plane,

Just ordered takeout, but the sandwiches are just as good. The Italian sausage and roast beef are solid choices to go with. Only con I can go with is the fries on the side were not salty but that can be easily fixed. Great looking bar to sit down and have a beer or two

YUM!!! Such a great place to have a really incredible sandwich! The bartender was super nice, even though she was very busy. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town again!!

It's a Pittsburgh tradition when we visit to eat here. Your whole meal is between two pieces of Italian bread. I got the Pittsburgher which is two hamburger patties,French fries, Cole slaw all in a sandwich.

I decided to stop for a sandwich. The number 2 best seller. It is a steak, and I add an egg. The slaw was lacking flavor. The Southside location has lost their way. The first time, go to the Strip district. They make the best sandwiches.

Decent draft selection. Staff is friendly enough. I'm not a fan of the sandwiches, though. I can defend slaw on a sandwich, and I do definitely enjoy the Primanti's slaw. Vinegar slaw is superior. I just can't deal with fries on my sandwich. Every time I have had one, I felt bloated after. It's not awful, it's just not for me. I know this is supposed to be the iconic Pittsburgh sandwich, but this town has better to offer in my opinion. But the bar is cool. Used to be a place called the Blue Note, once upon a time. I feel like a time traveller every time I end up here.

First trip to the famous Primanti Bros! Being from out of town, me and my husband were so excited to finally get to try these sandwiches, and I must say I was not let down! Really great food and a fun atmosphere! Our waitress, Ella, was very sweet, helpful, and happened to be from Florida like us! She was timely and gave us great recommendations about not only the menu, but also directions and things to do in the area! I got the Pastrami Sandwich, and my husband got their Original Rueben with a side of fried mozzarella! Delicious food and local beer with a great staff! Would love to go again some day!
