Some interesting stuff gurgled into our sink. Here’s after the water drained. I am not quite certain whether this detritus came from above or below or on its chemical composition so I will defer to experts. Primary and secondary water treatment is probably a good idea for this fine establishment. The breakfast is quite good, though. Cheers to that!

You have to pay to park in the hotel lot. If that's full there is a parking garage with a 6' ceiling so taller vehicles won't fit. The whole place needs to be renovated. The elevators are old and a little scary to ride. The pool has murky water. The restaurant is not good. The food is old and you will be lucky to only have the runs after dining here.

We got robbed! We are staying here - 3 rooms. We had to go to a survey at the hospital at 5am and when we got back to one of the rooms everything was taken. Police said they can’t do anything and the manager said there is no evidence of forced entrance. Our electrics were taken our shoes - clothes and the room was upside down. We don’t feel safe anymore and the hotel says they are not responsible for it DO NOT STAY HERE

Standard no frills hotel. Great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The door on our room was weird and to close it properly when we left we had to insert our room key after we had left the room otherwise it kept dead bolting preventing the door from closing. The A/C was also very loud. Overall an average no frills hotel. Could use some updating. Parking and breakfast not including in rate.

The room was clean and the service was good. My complaints are all peripheral. Parking and breakfast were to be included and they were not. The breakfast was 18.99 and upon looking at it, didn't seem worth that. Coffee was two bucks a cup, for bulk brewed coffee and the parking was 29.99 a day, normally I wouldn't care about parking cost however it was to be free, there was plenty of parking around the hotel that was open and the garage was nearly completely open. For the price, the bait and switch parking and breakfast, I will never stay here again. Now for the good, which has nothing to do with the hotel. The Area is great, food options and shopping everywhere. Safe to walk during the day and night. Good night life and the architecture of the surrounding buildings was beautiful. Easy access to the park and surrounding colleges makes me want to return, but I will not be staying at this hotel.

We have stayed at this property numerous times over the last two years because it is so close to our student's dorm, and the experience has been sub-standard, particularly for the Wyndham brand, every single time. And now we're done, never again. Our room smelled horrible, like old dirty socks. There must be moisture issues because everything felt damp in our room. The hotel lobby & each floor by the elevators always has a toxic overpowering perfume smell, clearly to cover up they mildewy/musty smell. We've apparently parked in the wrong garage for two years now, and this time, we got stuck and it was a debacle trying to get out w/out paying *again.* It actually costs more to pay the Wyndham to park in the garage than it does to pay as a non-hotel guest. Outlets in room are so old they won't even hold your plugs to charge electronics. I thought for sure after two years, they'd fix it, but nope. They are filthy, too. Staff is always meh; they act and look tired and downtrodden. On more than one visit, some have talked about how Wyndham doesn't care about this hotel and so many things are lacking. This is a sad representation of the Wyndham brand, and it might be tolerable if it weren't so expensive, but the price suggests it's nicer than it is.

Rooms were old and in desperate need of a remodel. The staff was rude and the hotel gouges you for every little thing. The room was not clean and the bathroom was disgusting. I would not stay here if you have other options. The price I was charged should be 2/3 less for what you actually get.

This place is about as bad as it gets. I hardly know where to begin. First, the rooms are hardly a bargain and EVERYTHING is extra. Parking is $29 a night!!! You can't even get hot coffee in the lobby. And the coffee maker in the room didnt work. The in house restaurant isn't open half the breakfast buffet is $18. And it's really basic. Not worth $18. We had NO HOT WATER in our room one night. There was no computer available to print our boarding passes so we had to go to the local public library. Even the bartender in the lounge was rude. Made it clear you were bothering him with your presence. The place used to be decent when it was a Holiday Inn. Wyndham management has turned this place into a disaster. Well never stay here again.. Too many other choices.

Nice hotel. However parking is an additional $29 per night. Rooms were clean and comfortable. However ac unit looks like it could use a cleaning and the tub should probably be replaced as it’s very worn. Overall I was pleased and would stay here again.

Great location. Decent rooms, but poorly appointed. Like all post-pandemic hotels housekeeping is non-existent and cleaning between visitors seems to be restricted to making the bed and changing the towels. You need to do better, hoteliers!

One of the worst experiences I have had with wyndham hotels, it was $200 a night and nothing went well starting with check-in all way to check-out. Dusty coffee makers and Broken Microwave, Lack of refrigerators for food storage. Very bad Parking experience. Overall, I would not suggest anyone to stay at this hotel unless it was offered for free or company pay you extra just to stay.

Not a great property. The first room we were given had a broken AC unit and the tank was loose and about to fall off the toilet! We were given a new room which seems ok if not a little outdated and worn. The bar was empty at 5:30 PM on a Saturday and the bartender had to be retrieved from the kitchen to pour some drinks. He seemed very put off by it. Very odd. I won't stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

If we could give this property less than 1 star, we would. It's in desperate need of remodeling - old carpets (with sticky spots - eww), extremely low bathroom counters, stained tubs, old & squeaky furniture, and grimy tiled elevators. The staff were unfriendly and not helpful, with the exception of the restaurant servers who were engaging.

Standard basic rooms, clean and ready, reasonably priced during off peak. Location good for visiting UPitt. Would benefit from a fridge and/or microwave, as well as outlets at the nightstand. Coffee maker and hair dryer available. TV in room, though basic as well. Had difficulty connecting our laptop to the wifi. Staff friendly and helpful. Be aware they did not offer housekeeping during our weekend stay.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Rooms are full of dust and stinking. These rooms doesn’t even have a mini fridge. Booked via Expedia, while booking they said breakfast included but after the booking they say breakfast is available … very convenient. I won’t recommend this hotel, please stay away from this in Pittsburg area.

Remember to use HoteIDully.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This website will compare countless booking web sites and typically will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is the best rated in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't regret it. We were in Pittsburgh visiting friends. Hotel was conveniently located, staff was friendly, and hotel was nice. Only thing— we didn’t have a refrigerator in our room, which was strange. Overall, I was satisfied.

There were a few safety issues with this hotel, mainly that the door to my room did not latch automatically when the door closed. Sometimes the deadbolt would throw, keeping the door from closing. Other times it would just not close all the way. Additionally, the outlets were incredibly worn such that plugs fell out and tripped the GFCI repeatedly. The staff was great, location is ideal. The safety concerns were just too much to overcome.

Had a gods experience staying over night for a wedding. Malcolm at the front desk saved our morning by helping with a make shift mezzanine set-up when we went to the Cathedral of Learning for a morning after get together, only to find out the cathedral was closed due to water main break! Great service!

Good place to stay if working at University of Pittsburgh. Older hotel so rooms can appear run down, but rooms are very spacious and bathroom is large too. Good water pressure on the 7th floor. Elevators could use some work. Restaurant is over priced for what they serve. They really should do something better with that because it is a nice space. My room had no refrigerator, which is rare these days, and ice maker on my floor was broken, so…. And don’t get me started on the Wyndham Rewards program that the front desk CAN’T access to add your rewards number to your stay. I think I’m talking myself into taking away another star, but I’ll save that for next time I stay here.

There was hair on one towel and in our bed that couldn't have been ours. Not the end of the world but not a great sign. Complementary coffee is from 5 to 7am... I guess bean juice is expensive these days? Overall it's fine for the price but don't expect much.

The service at the front desk was excellent. The staff seems very friendly. There was a problem with our cards, but we were warned it might happen and they replaced them right away, but even then only one worked. Our blackout curtains don't close all the way which for me is a hotel room requirement. The room didn't have a microwave or a fridge which for me is also something I think should be standard.

My daughter has been staying in this hotel since August as the apartment complex she was to live in, is not yet complete. The front desk staff are the only positive to her stay. The housekeeping staff "clean" her room but yet leave no toilet paper, no clean towels and ignore her DND sign. She returned back to her room after Thanksgiving( she had a DND sign on her door) to find 4 pairs of very expensive shoes missing and a Nike duffle bag full of clothes missing as well. When speaking with the General manager, she advised my daughter left the door to her room open and they have it recorded by Housekeeping yet they never let my daughter know this. They only advised me of this when I called to report the theft. They show housekeeping entered her room when she was not there, even with the DND sign on the door but had no explanation other than "maybe she didn't put the sign on the door like she thought". The General Manager was not helpful nor professional and advised all we can do is make an incident report and it will be handled by their insurance company. While the location of this hotel is convenient to all things University of Pittsburgh, this is the only positive.

We have stayed here many times. The rooms are OK and we have always chalked up the little quirks to the fact that it was used as a Pitt Dorm during COVID but that excuse doesn’t work any more. Our sink didn’t drain and was dirty and there was water around our toilet on the floor. If someone cleaned the bathroom they would notice these issues so either it wasn’t fully cleaned or no one cared enough to fix them. This will be our last stay here. It is overpriced what you get.

Pros: * Convenient location if you have any events on campus. * Room looked clean. * Provided two bottles of water in every room. Cons: * They added a bunch of charges that were not quoted on their website when I made the booking. My fee went from $149/night to $187/night (including parking which I was charged for again, see below). * I paid for parking through the hotel, only to realize when I was leaving the parking garage that the validation slips they gave me did not work and had to pay an extra $20 to leave the garage. I was in a hurry so didn't bother parking again, running to the hotel and having them fix the issue. Some things you would just expect to work without an uphill battle. * AC was very loud. For a place that's primary mission is to allow you to get a good night's sleep, it is disappointing that they don't consider noise to be a factor. * Also don't let the photos on the website deceive you, the rooms are not as nice as the website portrays.

Old dated building could use a major face lift. This hotel is far worse than other with less star hotels in the area. Walking into the room it smelled like bad feet order. Even the lamp on the table and nightstand had dust and fingerprint. The walls were dirty and the light switches and doors all had dirty fingerprints. Who knows when the door handles had last been cleaned. The little coffee machine was disgusting with dust as all around the room. Worse was the bathroom. The toilet was so low that even at my 5'1 height it was to low for me. The shower curtain had mold and it was outdated. the bathroom mirror was cleaned so badly that you were able to see the streak marks. The staff was not friendly and informative. The location was the only plus it was literally close to everything! Will definitely not stay at this location next time. It was not worth the price.

Ok so we stay at a Ton of hotels And this one I wouldn’t go back to. $30 a day to park my car? No coffee? No breakfast? No refrigerator? When you leave the hotel early in the morning (6am ) The door locks and you can’t get back into your own hotel!? Stood outside in the snow waiting for guy to ring me back in. Plugs on lamp (Pretty much the only ones in the room) wouldn’t hold a charger. I give it two because it was clean, desk girl was helpful and the restaurant inside had good food. Past that not good. We booked like 15-20 rooms for a block. Nobody was happy.

You will be satisfied if you're not a regular traveler but a time traveler from 20 years ago. If you're a regular traveler from 2022 - slim chance to be delighted. Good Location - relatively close to everywhere if you're visiting campus. Concierge - nice people Bad Room - outdated, NO refrigerator, NO slippers, NO shower gel (you need to use soap), NO USB port at the bedside, very loud A/C Parking - $29 overnight (well you pay $30 in DC, $40 in Boston, but...)

rooms were dirty, dried orange peels on floor, bathroom tiles grout looked and felt dirty, flashing lights, door handles not user friendly or safe. I would never stay here again. Staff is very friendly though and food was great in banquet facility area.

for the price i would expect a better service and better rooms. We stayed 3 days and no cleaning the room or change towels or pick up the trash. Blankets were to old and even had tears on them. They did not offer breskfast as part of the price. The front desk were very nice and very friendly.

Rooms small and basic. Comfortable but minimal. Personally not worth the price. No maid service during stay. Breakfast at the hotel was amazing. Location was perfect and central. Everything within walking distance.

Rooms were good. No fridge and the ice machine on our floor was broken but otherwise good. Not too far from Acrisure stadium. The restaurant downstairs was very good, the bartender was very attentive and friendly. Be prepared to pay for parking ($28/day).

  • 4/5 Dee R. 1 year ago on Google
Clean room. No bugs. You have to pay $29 if you want to park in the garage. They have a pantry with snacks and drinks but no vending machines. The rooms are clean but in need of a refresh, especially the bathrooms. For the price I expected better. However it was at least clean and comfortable.

Don't forget to use Hoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This site will compare countless hotel sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is the best rated in the area. I've been coming here for years. If you stay for a few nights you definitely will love it I'm sure! I had a comfortable, week-long stay at this location. The hotel is moderately updated, some updates could still be made. But I mostly appreciated the size of the room I was in!

Staff(Shar) were great! Location and room were awesome. Hotel just needs updating to get the 5/5 star rating. Maybe reduce your parking costs also. There are no other options for parking.

  • 2/5 Julia F. 1 year ago on Google
The staff was very nice. Parking was an additional charge and in very small lots across from the hotel. The pool was in the garage, small and dirty. Only 1 out of the 3 elevators was working which made it very difficult to get anywhere throughout the hotel. The rooms didn't have a refrigerator, you could upgrade your room to get a refrigerator.

Would not recommend. The only pros of this hotel are the location and the staff we interacted with were friendly. Upon arriving to our room, the sink had what appeared beard shavings in it, clearly not cleaned, floor and carpet had many stains, bathroom in disrepair and mold on the walls. Worst matress I've ever slept on, hard as a board. Wifi is terrible and next to useless. Parking is not included ($29/night) although you can find this on the website if you look far enough. I know we pay a premium for the location, however spend the extra money and stay across the street at the Oaklander or elsewhere. Not a comfortable stay for still a significant amount of money as this hotel is not cheap.

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. This site will compare thousands of booking websites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the most well known in the area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't regret it. Stayed here for 2 nights during a recent trip to Pittsburgh. Firstly, the location is awesome. Nestled very close to the major universities and walking distance to Pitt and CMU. Secondly, the hotel is certainly bare bones. They don’t offer many perks in the rooms, the decorations are a bit drab, and everything is kind of in need of an upgrade. That all being said, I had a very pleasant stay. The beds are comfortable and I chose mainly based on price, not amenities. The gym is also pretty bare bones but did the trick.

Ripped & dirty laps in the room, faucets are kinda funny and dated, very below average than its rating & price. Parking is expensive. The reservation said newly renovated, seems they just did the lobby and nothing to the rooms. Or they were not livable before this reno 😂 .. Amazing location rhough
