Severely overpriced for what you get. There's a scam where there's nowhere to park, except their lot and they charge you a separate $22 fee for the privilege. The lot was dark, surrounded by tall hedges and had a lot of workers' vehicles and equipment for the current remodel and the hotel desk stated they would not be liable for damages (from workers moving equipment, etc) or theft, despite the exorbitant fee and offered no protection. As soon as we entered the room, we smelled that someone had been smoking in there, pubic hair was found in the bathroom, the mattress was sunken in the middle and there was no hot water. Maintenance wasn't available until the morning, but we were run out early, due to someone drilling right over our heads. Rooms on one side had a view of the river (ours was obscured by the roof over the entrance) and the other side had the pleasure of busy train tracks right up against the hotel. It was a livable enough room, but aside from that, I have nothing favourable to say about it. Save yourself $100 and go to basically any other place.

Very disappointing experience when previous stays have been good. Booked two nights last minute for a bit of a “stay cation” with kids. Upon checking in we were told the pool is no longer operational. As this was a big reason we had booked, it was quite disappointing that the kids could not swim but we decided to stay anyway as we were worried about finding another place close at short notice. Rooms were clean on first appearance, but upon closer inspection there were long dark hairs in the shower drain and shower shelves and the night stand shelves had an unknown disgusting substance. I am not someone to worry about sheet/thread quality, but the sheets were so rough and scratchy and rough it was difficult to sleep. One side of the king bed had no side table and that side of the room was tactically completely empty without any furniture leaving a huge empty space. Additionally, our two night stay we received no housekeeping services. The free breakfast was fine and well attended but overall it was a disappointing experience for the price we paid. Next time we plan for a stay-cation, we will definitely be booking elsewhere.

Overall seemed clean. Bathroom could use a deep cleaning and maybe some new caulk. Biggest downside was beds were as hard as a rock but you still sunk into the middle. Worst night's sleep ever..

Almost no to little Wifi connection If you need a WiFi I suggest you get any other hotel. Guess they never tested it from inside guest rooms as they kept repeating Wi-Fi is good. It is actually horrible. Breakfast has a so much room for improvement. You won’t get what you pay for.

I had a reservation there from 18-22 and had to cancel upon check in because this hotel does not provide government employees on travel with the tax abatement form. I was instructed I was suppose to bring it with me and they can’t provide it. With that being said, I just booked a hotel across the street. As a Titanium Elite member, I will definitely pass this info to my other colleagues to stay away because they aren’t helpful to federal employees.

A weird location at least to me. It's in a neighborhood really, but it's Pittsburgh it's just a different city. Not a slight, just different. Still a nice property, outside could use a little clean up. Inside it's clean, beautiful and very well kept. The front desk Lady was more than helpful and very very kind. I'm sorry I didn't catch her name, but she's the best! The rooms were very clean and we'll maintained. I would recommend this Springhill to anyone staying in the immediate area.

Great hotel with a great location. Quite neighborhood. Gated parking right nearby. Big room with refrigerator, microwave and plenty of sitting area. Shower has good pressure. The beads are combatable with good pillows

What a terrible place to stay. Our room was right next to the train tracks and all night long trains were going by blaring their horns. So, if you value actually getting sleep, I would not recommend staying here - check the other reviews on this topic. I asked for another room and they said there weren't any. Why would they ever let people stay in those rooms, and charge a premium and not even tell them that they shouldn't expect to get any sleep? Then to top it off, my wife went down for coffee at 6:45 am, and got yelled at by the reception that it doesn't open until 7:00. Really? I like staying at Marriott hotels because they are usually clean and decent price, but I would never stay at this hotel ever again, in fact, not sure if I'll be going back to a Marriott, period. I wanted to tell someone at the front desk when we checked out in the morning, but no one was around. Two nights of no sleep for over $600, thanks Marriott.

We had a really nice stay here for a wedding a block away. There was construction in the lobby but the rooms seemed brand new. We heard one train in the afternoon and no others. We thought the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was good. Usually hotel coffee is not great but this was the best hotel coffee I've ever had!! I read some critical reviews before staying here and was hesitant, but I'm glad we stayed. Everything was perfect and I had to give an update!

Great rooms! My room had a work space (desk with plenty of outlets), relaxing space (large couch) partially separated by the bed area. My room looked out over Hot Metal Bridge and the Monongahelia River. Although it was on the road/river side, I didn't hear the traffic. Nice breakfast buffet. Only about a mile from a Primanti Bros restaurant on Carson Street.

Train rail is next to the hotel so an intervals of train noise will be their, moreover parking is $22 per night yet just a few steps away is a nice little shopping place with caffe and dining places, also the double dock bus station is near by the shops! You can tour the city wiki the bus!

Let me shout out Nicole and the crew on the Southside. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Reasonably price, near Carson st. Private parking in the city. Breakfast was bustling. I think there a pittsburgh winner.

Quite a few homeless people are regularly loitering and smoking right outside the lobby/main entrance. You can see them wander between the bench in front of the lobby and the tent camps they’ve put up across the street along the trail. This isn’t a cheap hotel, so it’s unfortunate they haven’t dealt with that issue.

Everything is great except the many freight trains that wake you up all night long. Very difficult to sleep. Update: they gave me a new room on the river side. They made it better..

Beware-- this hotel backs to railroad tracks that run behind the hotel. The trains run during the night 😬 The rooms are spacious but the walls are paperthin and you can hear the conversation of the people next to you. The breakfast was average.

Stayed here for a wedding and thought the hotel was nice! Our room faced the Pittsburgh Cathedral and had a lovely view. The room itself was clean. My only complaint for the room is that the lighting in the “get ready” area could be less harsh. As for the free breakfast, they have cereal, pastries, and eggs and bacon. Nothing grand, youre better off going downtown. I would think they would atleast have waffles, every good hotel breakfast has self serve waffles! We had to pay for parking which was strange because the gate wasn’t even functional. Felt like a rip off, but I understand since we are in southside. Otherwise the service was nice and the hotel is clean, which is half the battle for finding a good hotel to stay at. Just note that the hotel has train tracks right behind it, so if you get a room on that side you may be hearing trains all night long.

Homeless folks are put up in this hotel. They hang out right out the front door smoking all day and night and toss cigarette butts everywhere. Breakfast is typical factory made, heated up on site. Not good. No fresh made waffle or pancake option. If you like trains they go by all hours day and night, and yes you can hear them in your room. Beds are broken down and lumpy. Old style bathroom with a shower/ tub combo. Loud window style air conditioner. The water in the shower is hot. Otherwise, I've got nothing good to say about this place. Never again.

The hotel is by the river, and walking distance to restaurants and walking trails. They charge 20+ dollars for parking even do the parking lot gates don't work, and anybody can come in park. The breakfast is a continental breakfast that make you feel you are in a Two star hotel. I expected way better. No water bottle in the rooms, and the staff don't care to offer you at least one.

The Hotel overall is nice , however our room wasn’t clean there was a dirty wash cloth left in the bathroom , keys from the previous occupants left on the desk , and some other minor discrepancies for the rate we paid I wouldn’t expect to have had that type of experience, we stayed 2 nights received no service I assumed maybe due to Covid, they don’t bring fresh towels and linens but I don’t ask. I think overall it could be a little more attentiveness to housekeeping to ensure your guest are comfortable

Seems like a fairly new building. Room was very clean and staff was very friendly. That’s why it’s 2-stars. The reason I’m rating so low is because there is a train track RIGHT NEXT to the hotel. Like right outside the room windows. Woke me up multiple times 10:30pm, 1:30am, 3:45am, 5:30am and then I left. Utterly inconsiderate to build a hotel that close to an active train track. I came here for a good nights rest, not to wake up repeatedly to a train next to my head. Watch the video I took and turn the volume up to hear the noise. At the end I kept recording to compare once the train left how quiet it went back to. This hotel should be shut down. DON’T STAY HERE!!
