Absolutely delicious ! Love how their food isn't too salty. Quality is great overall. And their chips and salsas taste SO FRESH, not to mention their amazing happy hour offers! We had to wait for quite a while to get seated, but once seated, service was great

Amazing Mexican restaurant in Pittsburgh, great location, nice design, delicious food, fantastic list of margaritas and tequilas 🍻 very helpful and super friendly staff. Exponential service!! Plus this Mexican restaurant bar has a nice patio which is dog friendly!

The service was okay and food was okay taste-wise but I got INSANE food poisoning from this place (the worst in my life). I had the tofu taco and had crazy food poisoning for 3 1/2 days. Woke up with horrible cramps and threw up twice uncontrollably and I had to drink pepto bismol like water. Wouldn’t recommend.

First timers. Ordered the Nachos Grande with chicken and the chicken fiery burrito. The tostada chips tasted old, the cheese was cold, and there were very few pieces of chicken. Mostly chips with cold cheese and tomato paste and sour creme. The burrito also had little amount of chicken and consisted of rice and beans. The only reason I gave it a one star was that the jalapeño margaritas were good.

Nice staff & huge portions. Great atmosphere for a casual/ mid-scale Mexican place. It's not cheap, but you'll get two meals out of every order!

Waiter was friendly, atmosphere was great, decor was great, food was good, not cheap but not extravagant... nice spot to hang out and talk in and they can open up the wall to the outside which is great on a nice day.

The best Mexican restaurant I have ever been been to. Also the best mocktail I have had, it recreated the flavor profile of Tequila. Strongly recommend eating here. All the staff were very nice and professional.

I'm trying to avoid reflexively ordering a burrito every visit, so I went for a Classic Buffalo chicken wrap with waffle fries; Good Stuff!

Being a fan of the frozen drinks, I was sucked in by the menu options. Unfortunately, the frozen drinks here are more on the tart side, whereas I prefer sweet, but that didn't stop me from finishing it off. The bartender was great and despite how busy she was, always checked back in to see if she could get us anything. We gave in to a cheese quesadilla as well, which hit the spot. The decor is very cool with kind of a Mexican graffiti street vibe and music perfect for the venue.

The burrito tasted good, although I would have preferred more vegetables and protein. You won’t leave hungry though, as the portions are quite large. The arrive is excellent. The music is relatively loud. The atmosphere is closer to a bar than a dine in restaurant.

Ordered take out- great, filling, meals for the price- had the quesadilla with a side of beans & rice with cheese. Plan to stop in again!

My coworker and I decided to stop by for a quick bite on our lunch break. For starters, the decor is OUT OF THIS WORLD! It’s so colorful and vibrant and you can really see Mad Mex’s history through the decor. Our server, Grace, was sweet and attentive. She also gave very insightful suggestions of what to order, which helped a lot. The beef Birria quesadilla was prepared with care and made to perfection! It was flavorful and decent sharing size, in case you can’t finish it all on your own. The margarita was delicious and I love how they use fresh strawberries instead of strawberry syrup. All in all, this has quickly become one of my favorites in Pittsburgh and I will be back soon!

Great food, server was great too. The host was truly terrible. Asked a strange question and when she got out answer made fun of my wife while we were still in earshot. She shouldn't be in a customer facing position if she can't act in a adult manner.

We're just driving through Pittsburgh, have never eaten anything from here and I'm so glad that we chose to stop here! Our waitress was lovely, the building and decor was really cool, and the music was good. The atmosphere was 10/10. For any vegetarians, the crispy tofu is amazing! I really recommend the tofu wrap. My boyfriend doesn't even like tofu and he absolutely devoured my other half. Started writing this review before we even left. If we're ever in Pittsburgh again, we'll definitely be back.

You have to know what to order. If you are expecting good Mexican food this isnt it. Their wings are super good, as well as their bowls. They are also super vegan and vegetarian friendly compared to other similar priced places in Pittsburgh. Overall worth the try.

One of the bad experiences for a restaurant! We were asked to wait for a group of 6 even when the tables were available, we thought maybe it's a shortage of servers/waiters so we waited. Then we were give a seat and table that was still wet after cleaning. Our waitress looked like she dint want to be there. Maybe she hated her job or us, not sure. The jalapeño margarita was just crushed jalapeño and water and our other drinks were so so. The only positive side of all this experience is the food. It wasn't that great but when you experience such a bad go from the start anything slightly better would be a good thing! Not going to this place again even if the vibe is good!

Great service and great Tex Mex. Must have a margarita. They have regular options but also vegan/vegetarian options.(their seitan buffalo wings are terrific!)

Went for the first time in a while for lunch. Service great, food disappointing. First, their new menu doesn't have lunch specials anymore. Second, it no longer has a side salad on the menu. What restaurant doesn't have a side salad? They were able to figure out how to give me a side salad without it being a side salad and the dressing, which I used to love, was just not up to par. Third, the taco shells were 100% stale and inedible. Anyone in the kitchen could tell that they shouldn't be serving these to customers. I complained and they did nothing even though the server saw that i did not eat them. My companion had the sweet potato tacos and the cheese on them was not very good either. I'm sorry to have to write this review because I have always been a Mad Mex supporter. Step up your food game Mad Mex.

👍👍 Best taco place in Pittsburgh downtown. If you love spicy food and margaritas, do check out the place. Service was very quick. Never seen anyone serving so quickly at any Mexican restaurant.
