What more can I say. It's handy to meet family but it just never send to improve in the food department. Over cooked vegetables, tough steak and curries still disappointing

Food exceptional good & very helpful staff. The only thing I found the price of water with a dash of cordial too expensive by far. Also what ever they are cleaning the tables with - - is making the tables too sticky. . Could they clean the large mirror as well. But I have to say otherwise excellent food & staff are so friendly & helpful. .

One of the nicest open crab sandwiches iv had in a long time. Up there with the likes of Bushes in Baltimore. The seafood chowder was lovely too, thankfully it wasn’t loaded with flour/potato and was full of fish. The scampi was delicious too. Overall a great experience and a very family friendly restaurant. Iv been going to this restaurant for 30 years or so and it’s great that the quality is still there. 100% will continue to visit!

Love this place. Quaint little restaurant/bar The open salmon sandwich is delicious. Really friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Suitable for lunch and dinner as two different menus with a great selection.

Rooms: Comfortable. 2nd floor room was nice. 3rd floor room had a skylight that created lots of noise when it rained. Nice bathrooms. Service: Excellent service at breakfast. Location: only two choices for supper: the restaurant attached to the Bosun and an outside pizza place. Bosum restaurant had good food, accommodated special diets, and had excellent service. They managed to seat 5 people by putting three small bistro tables together into a triangle. Not the best but it worked.

We sat outside for lunch and it has a beautiful view The service is very good and attentive. The crab sandwich is very good, lots of crab meat, comes on fresh brown bread and with a side salad. The Cajun chicken wrap is also very good, comes with side salad and chips. It’s lovely for a lunch and lots of people were coming for family events It has a lot of history and a good reputation Would recommend for food and service

It’s been three years that we are having food from bosun, and they should improve there customers services, at least they should send someone who can understand English and take order, properly. I ordered salmon with Cajun spices but without chorizo. I am Muslim and it’s against my fait to eat pork, but again I have pork in my food. Hopefully management will take it seriously. It’s not a joke. Never again

Bar and waiting staff are above excellent. Menu is too extensive for a restaurant this size, i think it complicates things in the kitchen. Food is good and served piping hot. Prices are a bit high, but all the ingredients are the real deal . Overall I would urge people to go here especially in late evening as the lighting brings its own atmosphere.

Great food and even better service... and personal. Our 2nd visit (for dinnerl at the Bosun this week (on holiday from the UK and South Africa). And Metin remembered us and our names. Fantastic food and drinks and good value too. Lovely atmosphere in the pub and restaurant. Definitely a winner.

Really nice fresh seafood but unfortunately it is overpriced and overcooked as the crab claws were tough and battered fish too greasy and over cooked. Lovely staff but just a shame about the execution of the food. I read a comment here that the food menu is too large which is spot on as they should focus on quality of the amazing fresh produce they have

Dined here on father's day and it was an amazing experience. All the staff in the bosun are so great and really make dining here an absolute pleasure. Our small daughter loved how friendly and kind the staff were. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We were so full but wanted desert and the staff even were so kind to wrap up some to go! We will definitely be back soon.

Honestly Disappointing: Overall it was very disappointing from the check in when he told us that we didn’t have a room because there was an issue on their end even tho I called hours before arriving and nothing was said but somehow he just happened to have one available, going into the room it looked ok but when you start to actually look around it was not clean at all, the kettle had dirt marks all over it inside and out, there was two lights in the toilet and not one of them worked, going to lay on the bed I noticed there was a yellowish mark on my pillow so I just turned it over because there was no extras, the mattress was like sleeping on the floor with a sheet wrapped around us, no heating in the room and honestly the place just felt unsafe with no cameras anywhere and no staff around at all plus the front door had no lock system so literally anyone could walk in whenever. The next morning we got the breakfast and it was actually really nice but the cutlery and plates were not in the best condition. Honestly would never stay here again unless they did huge works and actually put in the effort to detail.

Attended a family lunch in the Bosun for 20 people and everyone had varied meals. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Waiting staff were very attentive, efficient and courteous. Highly recommended.

The room was good value compared to more expensive Cork hotels. It's old fashioned so don't expect modern furniture etc. The room was really clean and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was really really good. All the staff were really nice. I'd stay here again.

Really enjoyed our meal at the Bosun this evening. Our favourite spot to visit over the last few years. Everything is perfect from the minute you are seated. Our waiter was a young man by the name of Luke, he had a great hospitable & cordial manner about him. The fellow staff were also very attentive. The food is always piping hot, a great selection on the menu with fresh fish to a selection of meats & vegetarian dishes. What more could you ask for! Ample parking is also situated by the Bosun, overlooking the riverside of Monkstown.

Excellent food, lots of options for celiac and great service. The hake was divine and so was the salmon dish. Cosy atmosphere and well decorated restaurant.

A Friday lunch with Mum. Love returning here again and again. Sometimes booking recommend as always a busy buzzy spot. Mum opted for their fantastic golden fried place all the trimmings fries & salad. I had to have the trio open fish sandwich. Brown fresh baked bread, real butter, salmon, Prawns & crab. Freshness & taste a party for the pallet. Pots of tea and sparkling water as was lunch. Team

Excellent staff, good food. I found the portions to be too big. When I asked for a half portion I was told yhey didn't do half portions. This surprised me as most of the clientele were well on in years and I'd be surprised if they were able for the portion size I received.

Had lunch here for my nephews confirmation on Tuesday. It was nothing but outstanding. The staff were so friendly and catered for all our needs. They even had deep fried plaice. A fish you won't see everywhere and it was beautiful. Thank you so much to the staff and chefs for the wonderful food and service . ill definitely be back

Bar man was professional and friendly. General look of all the staff was professional, perfect clean uniform. We counted 5 servers in total that came to our table , so we didn't know who to tip ! I had the mussels to start. Very disappointing. The mussels were miniscule! Hubby had the garlic mushrooms, no complaints, very tasty. I had the trio of fish for my main, fish was overcooked and dry. Skin burned. Sauce lacked depth and sides were unseasoned and boring. Hubby had the cod with coconut curry, it was only ok , again fish was overcooked. Our daughter had the salmon salad. Plenty of salmon, well cooked. Avocado wasn't fresh, lots of black bruising. Disappointing overall. Pricey and not worth it. Unfortunately I won't be rushing back

Plenty of staff who worked hard to ensure we had everything we needed. Good food but a word of warning... the portions are massive!

The service was excellent. The food was very disappointing, I ordered oven baked hake, the hake tasted reheated and rubbery. The vegetables were tasteless and extremely hot. The banoffi dessert tasted of nothing, if I was blindfolded I wouldn't have known what I was eating. My daughter's dietary requirements were well taken care of, she had plain chicken and potatoes. There's too many choices on the menu, pare down the menu and up the quality of the food and the cooking.
