The Díaz Cassou house is one of the most representative buildings of modernist architecture in the city of Murcia. It is classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest. It is the work of the architect José Antonio Rodríguez (1868-1938), commissioned by the Murcia writer and scholar Pedro Díaz Cassou (1843-1902).[1] The history of the construction of this house sparked a long controversy by the owners against the City Council during its construction period (from June 1900 to 1906). It was finally resolved with an agreement signed by both parties in June 1906. Currently, and after the last restoration, the House has been temporarily transferred to the Government of the Region of Murcia for exhibitions and cultural events.

The House of the writer Pedro Diaz Cassou is one of the examples of Murcian modernism. It is from the beginning of the 20th century and its design belongs to the architect José Antonio Rodríguez although the decoration is the work of the painter Pedro García del Bosque. Currently the building, which is privately owned, is temporarily transferred to the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson.

Emblematic house of Murcia built between 1900 and 1906 by Mariano and Eloy Diaz-Cassou, brothers of the deceased writer, Pedro. In a modernist style, it contains details on the wooden doors, with the letters D and C corresponding to the last names of the owners. On the walls of the staircase there are a series of paintings made by his nieces Ángeles and Violante Díaz-Cassou Doménech, the Superior rooms have frescoed ceilings, the floor is made of Hydraulic tile, and the old kitchen had a wooden coffered ceiling, which disappeared during the restoration. Your visit is highly recommended. Currently the house is owned by CARM.

Interior is not a tourist visit place. But if you go there, see the facade of the building, which is actually beautiful!
