Honest review the area was beautiful but that was the limit of my enjoyment on this trip. The main fall was closed on memorial day weekend which seems ludicrous to me. Just because there were no life guards. On a huge holiday. Our first night there was fine and we enjoyed our camp. When we woke up Saturday morning there were close to 40 people setting up camps along the road which trapped us at our site. We called the park rangers to complain since we wouldn't be able to leave camp to go to the swim areas or get groceries and nothing was done. We called later and asked to be able to move to an overflow area and were told it was closed due to a fire, which is understandable. But within three hours that area was opened and people were flooding in. By lunch time Saturday we were surrounded by people not camping at camp sites just setting up on any patch of dirt that was clear, walking through our campsite and being extremely inconsiderate. It was the worst experience I've ever had camping and I've been camping all across the country for over 20 years. For the price to camp and the experience I would give it even less stars if it wasn't for the fact of how beautiful the area is. I will never go back to this area and will not be suggesting it to my peers.

Great walk in this beautiful nature reserve. The weather perfect, and we saw several deer. Reasonable entry fee for off-season mid-week. Disappointingly, no cafes open (just a general store with a friendly lady - we visited twice!), so we had to leave the park for lunch in Davis.

I wasn't sure what to expect based on the mixed Google reviews and what I have seen on social media. We had a great time! My teenagers had loads of fun at the slide and diving board at the blue pool. It wasn't crowded and the lines for both moved quickly. The castle ruins were pretty cool. Lots of steep steps with no rails, so be careful climbing up! If you climb all the way to the top of the stairs, you can see the 77 foot waterfall, and that was an awesome sight. When we were there, all of the pools and creeks were open. There was some moss in the rocks, so it was a slippery. We rented one of the cabins on site, and that was nice and easy. The cabin was clean, the AC was cold, and the beds adequate. Overall, we had fun and will go back.

An absolute true beauty of Oklahoma! The turquoise-colored waters of the pools and creeks were worth seeing; being in the hills and seeing the waterfall itself was like no other; you have to see it for yourself! Allow yourself at least a half-day to experience everything for yourself, because this park is huge! Have a picnic, go swimming in the creeks and at the falls, go out on a hike, etc. Great place to spend time with family and friends. I would rate this place 5-stars. but this place gets a generous 4-stars for the following reason. It is $16 for an adult to enter (I had a party of four), and the total just to get into the park grounds was a whopping $72 after taxes. That price is insanely expensive to get in. It is more than any national or state park I've been to (why can't they charge per vehicle for entering?) I mean yes, the price to get in maybe a tourist trap, but if the price helps to maintain everything in the park, then that would make sense. I would definitely visit Turner Falls again. But please note to be well prepared to pay for the overpriced tickets upon arriving at the park.

After reading reviews we weren't sure what to expect since they were varied but we had a great time! Had to force the kids to leave they had so much fun especially at the slide/diving board at the blue pool. Make sure you bring water shoes AND life jackets/puddle jumpers if they're under 13. There were lifeguards at the blue pool that enforced that. Would definitely come again!

The views and the park itself was wonderful, and the staff was very nice. If you get there early enough during the week, you can find great primitive camping sites right on the water. I’m giving a low review though because of how overcrowded and terrible the camping neighbors were. We were pushed out of our spot TWICE by large groups moving in and pushing our stuff away. Mind you, they all ignored the multiple other open and available camping sites that had really good space. We had multiple families blaring music and keeping their flood lights (which lit up our tent like Christmas morning) on until way past 2am, and kids screaming and yelling and running right through our campsite most of the night. Plus the kids pulled a picnic table out into the hip high waters just to jump off of it. One group pulled their truck right in front of our tent with their brights on at 1030pm. We wound up leaving a day and a half early because it was all to much. I get it’s the end of summer and people are trying to enjoy their last bit of summer break, but be courteous to your camping neighbors. Especially in primitive camping. We’ll hopefully try again during the less busy times, but it all really put a damper on our birthday vacation.

It was beautiful but more expensive than most parks to get in and crowded. We went on a Friday so we only paid for admission but was $54 for 3 adults (one being military, someone had asked about the discount but they only give it to the active member no dependents.) the lady at the front was super nice and once we told her we were there to take our maternity pictures was able to guide us to the safer areas and where to drop me off so I wouldn’t have to walk as far. We found beautiful areas to take pictures just a little disappointing that most areas are not easily accessible so it made pictures harder. Little Niagara Falls was more accessible in my opinion and free, water was definitely colder but we were able to find an area that wasn’t crowded vs turner where we found an area that I could get to and kids followed us even though the area they were in was perfectly fine and wasn’t safe for me to attempt to get to. Not sure it was worth the cost when you can drive 30 minutes and get the same or better experience for free.

This was just perfectly beautiful. The new cabins that they are adding in look super awesome. We just went for the day, hiked a bit, swam and enjoyed the scenery. Only down side, the staff when entering , we’re not very friendly or informative and some staff were smoking cigarettes while interacting with guest and I thought that to be unprofessional. Regardless, it was stunning and WE ARE coming back!

We took a day trip here from Fort Worth. Purchased tickets online, arrived at 10 am on a Friday and it was a wonderful time. Parking was easy. We parked and walked to the 77ft falls where we swam. June the water was cold but so nice. We picnicked then hiked up to see the castles and then continued to the trail to see the falls from above. We spent just shy of 4 hours there with our 5 year old and our 22 year old and both loved it. The only two negatives were the attendant at the ticket window was a young girl who has zero customer service skills. Also, the trail wasn’t well marked indicating how to get to the top of the mountain.

COST: $20 adults $16 kids under 12 i think. Kids need life jacket to go in deep waters, they have a store inside but prices are high than normal, rocks so slippery, kids and adults recommendation wear water shoes, lot of hiking to do, you can bring grill. Nice place to visit, close 9pm on Sunday which was great cause u can see the sunset in the highest level of the place.

I used to love Turner Falls, and it really is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. But the entrance fees are exorbitant, and even during the height of the summer swimming season, there is no guarantee you will be allowed to swim. If they are short-staffed, and don't have a lifeguard, the swimming areas are closed.

Drop dead gorgeous area to explore! We went when it was a little cooler out which is for sure the perfect time to go. The castles are very cool to explore although it's a bit of a vertical hike. There's a cave you can explore above and to the right of the waterfall where the swimming hole is.... And TONS of wildlife

We visited the Friday afternoon and evening of Memorial Day weekend. It is a beautiful place! My kids had so much fun swimming, sliding on the slide, and using the diving board. There was a lifeguard on duty and they were required to wear life jackets because they were under the age of 12. I was surprised that it wasn’t more crowded. There was plenty of free parking on all levels (you do have to pay for in on weekends) and the grounds were very clean. There were staff members out emptying garbages often so I think they are really trying to address the garbage issue people have been complaining about in other reviews. I am sure is hard to keep up with it when it’s super busy. They are also renovating the changing rooms right now by the Blue Hole, so you either have to use a port-a-potty to change to go to one a lot farther away. But it will be nice when they are finished.

In park canopies, parking and chill spots are first come first served. I loved this place, so much to look at. Only stayed in area one, did a bit of hiking around the waterfall, anyone under 13 is required to wear a life vest, they do call out anyone that should be wearing one. Life vest are very pricy i paid $45 for an infant life vest, it's best to buy one somewhere else before getting to the park. Also water shoes is HIGHLY recommend.

Beautiful!!!! I found This place very beautiful to visit. The water was clear and clean. Perfect place for hiking lovers, it has a playground for kids, cabins and campgrounds. There is a little store where you can buy snacks and drinks. Definitely I have to come back and stay longer. We did a one day trip but will Stay longer. The view when you go up the hill is stunning and breathtaking.

I expected this place to be more of a "natural" environment. It's kind of like an amusement park, with signs everywhere about what you can and can't do. The water was too shallow for swimming and we couldn't get near the waterfalls. There were buoys surrounding it with signs to stay away. It was not crowded when we went so it was nice and quiet when we hiked around but I imagine it wouldn't be as nice if there were a lot of people. We did go in Sept., on a hot day. It would've been nice if the little store on site was open.

Happened to be in the area so we went to explore. Didn’t know there was an entry fee so be aware of that 12 bucks per adult! Otherwise it’s absolutely beautiful. Wish we knew about it before because we would have stayed at the RV camp site. The trails are well maintained, it’s fun and easy to explore, none of it felt neglected. The castle is very neat the rock formations by the falls are fun, we definitely want to go back and spend more time exploring.

Turner Falls Park is an absolute must-visit destination in Davis, Oklahoma. This beautiful and expansive park offers a wealth of outdoor activities and attractions for visitors of all ages, making it the perfect place for a family day out, a romantic getaway, or a solo adventure. One of the most popular attractions in the park is the stunning Turner Falls. This breathtaking waterfall cascades over rugged rocks into a sparkling pool, creating a picturesque and idyllic scene that is truly mesmerizing. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery and rugged cliffs, making it a perfect spot for a picnic or a peaceful stroll. Although the pool area was closed during my visit, everything else in the park was open and there were plenty of other activities to keep me entertained. There are plenty of hiking trails throughout the park that lead visitors to beautiful vistas and hidden gems. The trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of difficulty levels, so whether you're an experienced hiker or a beginner, you'll find a trail that suits your needs. Along the way, you'll encounter stunning rock formations, vibrant wildflowers, and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The park also boasts a variety of swimming areas, including natural pools and calm waters where visitors can take a refreshing dip. The park has lifeguards on duty, making it a safe and enjoyable place to swim. In addition to the outdoor activities, Turner Falls Park has a variety of other attractions, including a nature center, gift shop, and snack bar. The nature center is a great place to learn about the local flora and fauna, and the gift shop offers a variety of souvenirs and snacks. The snack bar is the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat or a refreshing drink during a hot day. Overall, Turner Falls Park is a true natural wonder that is well worth the visit. With its stunning waterfall, breathtaking views, and a variety of outdoor activities and attractions, it's a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and connect with nature.

We enjoyed our stay, all the staff was very kind,it is a very popular spot especially with the Hispanic folks and can get quite crowded. The police do an excellent job at maintaining the traffic safely and so does the staff. Definitely needs more restrooms showers . a walking trail next to the road that goes from camping area down to the swimming areas should be considered.

I have been here several times. It's a beautiful place. I highly recommend it but I also recommend avoid the weekends if you can. Weekends are a bit overwhelming with so many people. During the week, traffic is less and you are able to enjoy the surroundings in PEACE. Another tip. BRING CASH if you're going to partake of the vendors food!!!!!! They do NOT HAVE AN ATM. I called in advance to check if foods, restaurants, etc were available but no mention of it being cash only. It was disappointing. Aside from this, the front bathrooms, DO NOT have shower stalls, only changing rooms. They have 2. There are bathroom stalls to use bathroom. I selected parking online but it didn't filter through when I paid for our visit. We weren't asked about parking and we were assigned third level parking. The shuttle is useful but be prepared to wait. If I may suggest to the park?? PARK, PLEASE ADD SIGNAGE OF SOME KIND to make the best use of this service. Instead of unnecessary people getting on and taking up space that should wait for the next run. The shuttle attendants are soooo friendly, patient and incredibly helpful. Thumbs up for all they do.

This place is a good stop between Dallas and Oklahoma City. Waterfall is the highlight of the area. It looks good, but nothing special, similar to other waterfalls in the US. Castles are not very impressive. You can probably spend the whole day in this park. The entrance fee is way overpriced. They charge $20 per adult plus taxes and fees??? The cashier couldn't explain what this fee was. With 2 adults and 2 kids, you pay around $80 to visit this park. It's around the same price for annual national parks admission. They also charge $10 or $20 for parking, but your parking level can be full and you will be forced to park in another area. When we came to level 2 parking only 2 spots were left. Other reviews complained about trash. When we were there on Friday, the place was pretty clean and we didn't see any trash around. Some reviews mentioned dirty water. During our visit the water was clean. Maybe you shouldn't come after heavy rain. I will not come back here mainly due to the high entrance fee.

Will give a 5 ⭐️since we enjoyed every second we spend at the park. Needs to keep the place a bit more clean or people needs to be more respectful about keeping the place clean. Very enjoyable. Trampoline, slide and the falls are great. Water was at a perfect temperature. Will go back for sure.

We visited as a day trip. We had a much different experience than I expected once I knew what we were doing (surprise road trip). Anyhow the admission was much more than expected and disappointment soon set in. The park is quite lovely HOWEVER, we were not expecting this natural park to be so heavily monetized. If you are looking for an overcrowded, noisy, boisterous campground — this is the place for you. I like a different kind of camping. While there are gorgeous sites to see at this location, getting pictures without crowds of people is impossible (unless you edit them out). I was incredibly saddened to see such a beautiful place with so much busy-ness and business. Also it seemed what business was there wasn’t capitalizing on some of its best assets.

*** Natural beauty! *worth the stop, but plan a trip to enjoy & experience all it has to offer!* Signs seen March 2023 (Seemed open to explore, but unsure, call 1st): Zipline horseback numerous trails photo sights paid camping lodges summer day camps for children waterfalls/springs historic castle sight/prison history art Natural beauty! It has amazing views, history, trails & soo much more to respect & learn about! A planned trip cut short left a strong desire to return to experience all it appears to offer!

It is a great place to beat the summer heat and get kids out in nature. It looks like they are using the admission fees to improve and keep the facilities nice. Be aware that any child under 13 must wear a life vest, so bring one otherwise you can buy one at the gift shop. The weekend will be very busy so if you can take a day off during the week that’s your best chance of fewer people.

I had never been here before and I met up with some friends that were spending the weekend. We did some hiking and swimming. It's a beautiful place that has some rich history hidden amongst the trees if you're willing to search for it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

Beautiful Place but was overcrowded. Need to ensure things are cleaned and camping areas are designated. People overran our area because areas not designated. They just setup camp anywhere and I had to ask them not to block the road where we parked so we could get out. Management should take control instead of just selling more camping spots. Designate camping areas and ensure they follow the rules. Needs Cleaning daily.

The mountains, the waterfall, the caves are all beautiful. Decent price to get in, they do have free parking available. Restrooms with showers are ok nothing special. Plenty of security to ensure everyone is safe. The water is always, just get there early to find a good spot.

Loved it! If you don't like a lot of walking or climbing this isn't for you! They do not allow pets...fyi! We brought our dog because of the wild pigs, which we only saw tracks thank God, but had to leave dog in van. There are signs stating to be aware of snakes. We went in the winter so didn't have to worry about those...again, thank God😁. Appears the food area is closed during this time also so bring snacks. Bathrooms were clean and workers very nice. Beauty of this scenery is Amazing! God did an awesome job in creating this place🕊! Great pictures! I think that's it..all!🤗

Stayed at a cabin in the park last month. The whole turner falls park is very well kept and the grounds are beautiful. There were many people camping in tents and RVs located towards the peak of the mountain. The water was very cold when I went but still amazing experience to get in the clear water along the river that runs off the fall.

  • 5/5 Katie F. 1 year ago on Google
This place is so beautiful! I enjoyed it all: from climbing in a cave to hiking and taking in the glorious views of the river, hills, and waterfall. On a warmer day, playing in the river would have been a great option, too. I'm sure I will return sometime and rent one of the many cabins, or maybe camp. I definitely recommend visiting, and not just for a few hours! 😀

I did not stay at the park but I must warn others it costs 15 bucks per person just to drive up and see the falls. The falls themselves are gorgeous, very clean both the water and the area. The staff does a good job taking care of this place. Worth a stop of your in central Oklahoma

I enjoyed my time at the park today. The waterfall is really pretty and there’s lots of vegetation and animals to see. I visited in what’s considered the winter season on a week day so I was able to save money on parking and the cost of entry. I only spent $12 for myself & my child was free since kids 5 years old and under are free. I brought snacks and food & I didn’t stay the night. It was worth it the drive! There are efforts to keep the park clean, but unfortunately there was litter scattered over the park. The trails are nice & there’s a nice view up butterfly road that I highly recommend seeing.

We had a great day trip to Turner falls. We hikes, explored the castle, caves and wadded into the falls area. We want to come back in the summer when we can swim. It is a great place for outdoor family fun.

  • 5/5 Rica B. 1 year ago on Google
Great place to enjoy nature hike/trip with the family. We went during spring (so not much crowd) & water was still cold then so we never tried swimming yet. We’ll surely come back during summer. Aside from the 2falls, there’s a swimming area& an old castle you’ll encounter there. No pets allowed & lots of parking space. Theres a fee to enter. Their brochure/map is not as clear & could use some color to tell the legends. Otherwise seems like also a nice place to camp. There are also some cabins to rent.

  • 4/5 Dennis B. 8 months ago on Google
The park was beautiful, quiet and clean. Our trip was the beginning of the winter season. There were still a considerable amount of people visiting the park and falls. But for us. Staying in the rv park. Was not crowded at all. Loved staying there.

  • 5/5 Shelice A. 8 months ago on Google
Easy to find whether using GPS or not. Gift shop was a bit underwhelming however the park itself was beautiful! Very clean and great view with lots to see. I went during the off peak season so there wasn’t a large crowd which made the experience even that more memorable.
