Best Homestay in India!!! We stayed at the Homestay for 7 days in April and had such a lovely time! The location and most importantly the Hosts made our stay exceptional. Location: Murudeshwar is a small village with approximately 1500 habitants. It is mostly famous for its temple, the Lord Shiva statue (wich is the second tallest in the world) and for scuba diving. Furthermore it has a beautiful and lonely beach. You can walk there for miles and won’t stumble across thousands of tourists like in other places. While you’re there, you must go for a boating trip in the mangroves. It’s so beautiful, that you can spend multiple days there. Accommodation: It’s a beautiful heritage Homestay and the interior is chosen with love and it’s very comfortable. We stayed at the Queen AC Suit and we loved it! Unlike in other hotels, we even had HOT water at every time of the day/night!!! The food: In my opinion, you shouldn’t eat somewhere else. At the Homestay you’ll get the most delicious food. And if you have any allergies or can’t eat spicy, just tell Auntie 😉 The Hosts: The Hosts (we just called them Uncle and Auntie) are doing everything within their power to make all your wishes come true. Uncle is very relaxed. Whenever you are feeling stressed, go and talk with him, he will calm you down 🙂 Auntie is very energetic. She will pamper you from the beginning and will treat you like her favorite nephew/niece and not like an ordinary guest. She’ll give you recommendations on what to do and where to go and if you get sick, she’ll pamper you even more. Kedar is one of auntie and uncles three sons. He will manage everything for you. He arranged all the activities during our stay, helped us book buses for our next two weeks in India, installed all important apps, called cab drivers and bus companies if needed… he did everything!!! Whenever we had an issue (even after our stay was over) we could call him and he would help us out. Krishna is very studious, and was studying for his exams while we were there. Like the others, he has always a smile on his face. Arjun is the youngest of the three boys. He is into sports and a very nice kid. I enjoyed working out with him and it felt like having a little brother. We will miss them all and we’ll definitely stay in contact. Thank you so much for everything!!!

The house is very good..very well organised. But very disappointed with its location. It is surrounded by filthy environment. The approach road is very very bad. The view from much hyped balcony facing sea is unbearable. We could not sit there in the early morning..to have such view..hope you understand what I am trying to say. We had paid 16k upfront for this place for 2nights but we were so disappointed that we did not think of money spent and decided to leave that place in a day, to avoid wasting any more time. This place is over priced. I would say unless you have to stay in murudeswar, don't choose for this place. You can stay in Kundapur and come to murudeswar, it's hardly an hour drive. Don't expect she would be considerate about any refund.

They are not pet friendly, they claim to be pet friendly. They will ask you to leave your pet outside on the balcony even at night. On top of it they charge you extra also for bringing a pet. Rest of it looks okay but misleading information re pets to increase online booking.

This best home stay we could find near murudeshwar temple and only one with such quality. Feel at home,at the same time all mendities like hotel. Rooms are spacious,clean and well lit. Though bathrooms are small but they are clean and loaded with basic toiletries. Enjoyed breakfast and dinner (the best interms of taste and health). Very authentic home made food. Hosts are superb and they make you feel at home. I will definitely recommends if someone is traveling as couples or family with kids.

Amazing people felt like family superb food. I fell in love with that ice tea 😂😂 The place followed covid protocols very stringently. It felt very safe and the room was beyond beautiful. It was a ana amazing experience. Although it's a bit costly than any hotel room you must try mavalli homestay it's 100x better and you kinda enjoy the other side of the beach aswell. It's totally worth it.

Very clean , very Safe place to stay, where covid protocols were followed to the “T”. To add to it we had great tasty food . The fish , chicken dishes were awesome. “It was a Home away from Home”. The home is artistically decorated, credit to Mr. Devdass , who has very good taste for the antique furniture. The hosts , Mrs. Rajashree and Mr. Devdass made sure , we were informed of the places to visit, gave us tips too which helped us since it was our first time at Murdeshwar. Kedar is a very considerate , thoughtful, innovative host following his parents footsteps. We enjoyed our surprise the last night of our stay , memorable 🙏🏻 Arjun the couples youngest son was a blast, his energy, was contagious , kept us entertained with his mastery over Rubik’s cube & it was indeed a pleasure meeting you too, Krishna. Was a good stay. Do consider this place during your visit to Murudeshwar. Recommend especially if you come with kids. Very friendly people who work whole heartedly. Tasty and healthy food served . Made our time memorable.

The hosts are nice and their home is beautiful filled with antique furniture. Stayed here for two nights in the King suite. Paid 13k for 1 night which I found is very expensive when compared the the quality of the stay. The bathroom needs upkeep. The bed in the loft is antique and beautiful but very uncomfortable to sleep in, the mattress is quite thin. It can be used as a day bed at best. Good stay but ranks low on value for money.

The homeowners are extremely hands on and really worked hard to ensure the comfort of their guests. Brilliant experience. The view of the sea from the balcony is absolutely brilliant. We watched the sunset as well as the sunrise. Highly recommended.

Awesome stay at Mavali Heritage Home. The bunglow is excellently maintained.The interiors are beautifully and aesthetically done up. The food is super. Rajeshri n her husband are warm hosts. We enjoyed the conversations with them. The property is on the beach .view from the bunglow is excellent..Courteous staff. Will definately be coming back.

This is a beautiful heritage property which is well maintained and very comfortable. The hosts are very welcoming, food was lovely and our room was fantastic - highly recommend for a stay near to Murudeshwar, by the beach, but away from the busy town centre.

A very decent and perhaps the only place to stay in Murudeshwar if you are travelling with family and kids. This is a homestay and not a hotel. The owners also stay in the same premise and are very warm, cordial and helpful. We visited towards end of Oct 2022 and stayed in Queen Suite Terracota AC room. They also have King suite for the same. The Terracota AC rooms are spacious has a high ceiling and recommended which also comes with a balcony and nice sit outs and good view. Attaching a snap from our balcony. But the number of rooms are limited. The property is as such not a beach property but the beach is very nearby and please note it's a public beach. However, it's still pristine and relatively less crowded. Lord Murudeshar's (Lord Shiva) temple is within a KM. Special thanks to their son Kedar, who manages most of the daily affairs, is warm, cordial and thorough professional and also the lady of the house. Food is homemade and the buffet breakfast is very nice. Being a homestay the food timings have to be followed and have to be informed in advance. Overall a beautiful home. Beautifully decorated and also has a heritage look. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would look forward to visit again. Note: Please access this property through the main entrance to Murudeshar from NH66 only and just before the temple take a right. Any other route is time consuming and also not in very good condition.

One of the amazing stays in Murdeshwar, amazing host! The hospitality is just top notch.

We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful property managed by very loving and kind owners. It’s as if we visited our own family. Room was neat and clean and owners personally took care of our food needs, recommending nearby places viz Honnavar boating , etc. My daughter enjoyed playing with Tito, lovely and friendly dog. Food was yummy and served hot. Location is 3 min auto drive from temple, road construction is in full swing. Place is quiet and few rooms are facing beautiful sea.

If you are planning relax with family then this is the place to stay. I visited with my 2sons and we loved our stay. Clean rooms, caring/ helping hosts, home cooked food, beach just across the road and beach walk to the temple. Other than our stay time, they were available all the time in case of any issue or guidance during our travel to Udupi/ Honavar. We really felt welcomed and enjoyed our stay.

Very much comfortable and best place to experience home feel away from home. Near to the beach. The house is filled with antiques and stuff like that which gives you a vintage feel. Do visit this place

The Kaipilly family has taken their Homestay to a different level by creating a smooth blend of warmth of home with comfort of a fine hotel! Their special efforts in creating a welcoming ambience is noticeable as soon as you step in... and then it lingers with you pleasantly. We had booked King and Queen suits for 4 nights. Rooms are equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay. They are neat and clean. The house is surrounded by nice trees and lot of birds. They leave behind the fruits like papaya on the trees for birds and we enjoyed watching them feasting on them! Food requires special mention as we had special food requirements. Mrs. Rajashri went out of the way to procure certain items from Goa, though I had volunteered to carry along! Breakfast and meals were superb. All the meals were delicious with local flavors. Mr. Devdas was a great company. Their son Kedar was always around for any help required. All in all, we loved our stay at such a lovely place with lovely family and will love to stay with them again!

Me and my friend Stayed for 2 nights . To summarise : awesome property, very pleasant interiors The best part of course was the warm hospitality and the simply awesome food , Iwould give it a 6 star if available :). Would definitely go back there. This is a true home stay unlike others who are neither homes nor resorts... value for money all in one a memorable stay . Can’t wait to go back . Lovely host . Mavalli Home stay is a Home away from home... The Host makes sure we are at peace and relaxed all the time... The food is delicious and interacting with the hosts and sharing experiences is lovely... We stayed there for 3 nights and had all the meals at the home stay, which was our highlight... They are warm, considerate and very very hospitable... We had a beach facing room and the rooms are spacious and well kept...
