Disrespect
and
Favoritism
at
Bacchus
Inn:
Today
night's
visit
to
Bacchus
Inn
left
a
bitter
taste
that
wasn't
from
the
drinks.
My
friend
and
I
approached
the
bar,
greeted
by
a
bouncer
who
instructed
us
to
wait
outside
due
to
the
venue
being
full—a
reasonable
request,
which
we
complied
with
patiently.
However,
the
semblance
of
fairness
shattered
when,
after
a
30-minute
wait,
a
student
couple
arrived
and
were
immediately
welcomed
inside.
Confused
and
frustrated,
I
addressed
this
apparent
queue
jump,
only
to
be
met
with
an
arrogant
dismissal
from
the
bar
staff,
stating
they
reserve
the
right
to
select
patrons
at
their
discretion.This
incident
was
particularly
stinging
given
our
previous
night's
experience
at
the
same
bar,
where
we
spent
Rs.
2000
and
generously
tipped
each
waiter
Rs.
200
in
recognition
of
their
service.
It
seems
the
respect
we
showed
for
their
profession
was
not
reciprocated
by
the
gatekeeping
staff.The
blatant
disrespect
and
unapologetic
favoritism
have
marred
the
reputation
of
Bacchus
Inn
for
us.
A
bar
is
more
than
its
drinks
and
decor;
it's
about
the
experience
and
respect
given
to
its
patrons.
Unfortunately,
in
this
case,
Bacchus
Inn
has
severely
lacked
in
providing
a
fair
and
welcoming
environment.
Patrons
deserve
better
than
to
be
treated
as
second-class
customers
based
on
the
whims
of
a
gatekeeper.
Disappointing,
to
say
the
least.
