WARNING: do not stay here. Quick summary I stayed in July 2nd 2018. Pros: we were not robbed, raped or murdered. Cons: everything else. I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not. Lights didn't work. Floors were sticky, beds no comforters and what little sheets we had were dirty We all slept with our cloths on. Room was m complete disrepair and yes it has bed bugs. We had to treat all our stuff when we got home. I have no idea how this place is open. My advice if you have nowhere else to go I recommend sleeping in your car Response: I spoke to the front desk. The friendly gentleman informed me that unfortunately there was nothing he could do, and that ownership has neglected the hotel for along time. So I did you one better and called the health department. I was in room 217. I hoping to hear back on what the mysterious brown fluid was on the inside of the lamp shades.

From beginning to end the stay was a negative experience. The hotel was outdated, dirty, pool heater was broken, never even saw the hot tub, the service was mediocre as well(no one at desk upon our arrival)..... All before reaching our room. Elevator was down.... Just kidding had out of order sign but worked. We took the stairs, which were disgustingly dirty..... The entire hotel had a musty old smell. Our room was dirty, smelly and didn't have blankets. The staff definitely conveyed being inconvenienced when asked for blankets or told about issues. Would never return and would never recommend.

Our stay was 7/7/2018..... Let me start by saying that the gentleman on the phone that took our reservation and the gentleman at the front desk when we were leaving were the nicest things about this place. We get there, check in and head for the elevator. This is where we encounter and older and less stable elevator than the ones in the old buildings Downtown Detroit. We get in and instantly we are greeted with the overwhelming scent of marijuana. Now... we get to our floor exit the elevator and find that the entire floor smells heavily of marijuana and the hallway looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a month. Get to our room, open the door to find a room straight out of the 70's. The TV was so old, that half the channels wouldn't even come in. The lights barely lit the room. If you just brushed up against the bed, it sounded like the headboard was going through the wall. I notice we didn't have a garbage can and I needed another pillow. Pick up the phone (which was an old Marriott phone by the way) to call the front desk and it doesn't work. Had to use my cell phone. To be told I cannot get another pillow and if I want a garbage can, I have to go down to get it. (Keep your can. I'll put my garbage on your floor.) Then we notice parts of the "dresser"/TV stand is broken and sticking out. (Thank goodness I wasn't cut on it.) Use the facilities, go to wash my hands only to have to wrap a towel around the sink to keep the water from hitting the floor. Step outside to leave and there is an awful stench of decay just wafting around the building and parking lot. So there is probably something dead somewhere and it needs to be picked up. To backtrack a moment, I asked for a corporate number and was told no. They wouldn't even give me the general managers contact I formation at the time. Needless to say, this place will never get my business again. I slept in better tents in the middle of the woods in a storm and had a better time.

Starting out the place looked shady and not well taken care of, hoped that wasnt the case, but it is. We got to the rooms and out of the 3 rooms, 2 of the sheets were dirty with body fluids. When we asked the sheets to be changed the person at the counter said he can bring us sheets, but we have to change them. The elevator felt like it was on the verge of breaking. None of the AC units worked and the rooms were all baking hot. I can definitely say the rooms were not worth 120 dollars a night. I pay less at the super 8 for better service and a cleaner room.

This place has changed for the good! Super clean, great friendly service. My dog is treated with respect, recognized as a family member. My room was spacious, warm, and cleaned without any issue. I must say the bad reputation of the establishment preceded itself, but corporate interest, along with the new competent, and friendly in house manager Julie have turned it around. The outside is in need of paint and an update, i was told they are just waiting for warm weather to update colors and re work landscape. Very pleased, doggo an i will definitely be back...treat yourself...Cheers JEFF

The staff and the day manager there were fantastic. They made me feel welcomed and right at home both times I stayed with them. The indoor heated pool made my stays pretty awesome considering the weather outside! The rooms were clean, but the TVs are outdated. The price was affordable too.

I wish i could give less than 1 star. This hotel was absolutely DISGUSTING!!! AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!!!! My husband and I took our daughter to Michigan Adventures (we live 3 hrs away), after the park we went to check into our room. It was about 8:00pm. Upon arrival, the front desk lady was outside smoking, did not greet us until she finished her cigarette while we waited inside. We checked in and I requested an additional bottle of shampoo (all day at the water park and my daughter and I have long hair). She could not find the housekeeping supplies anywhere. When we got to our room it was a nightmare! The room description said "View of the city" which was a brick wall, the pool below, and the liquor store across the street. One of the 2 queen beds had the covers drawn back like someone failed to make it completely or took a nap in it. The toilet was not flushed (yellow water with toilet paper still inside), the bathtub had wet dark stains on the bottom, there were no soap bars/shampoo anywhere. My husband tried to turn the TV on but it did not turn on, when we looked around the room, we noticed there was no power to half of the room (alarm clock, phone, TV, lights next to the bed). None of us felt comfortable there so we went back down to the front desk. The lady was (once again) outside smoking and we had to go get her for help. She said they were fully booked (1 other car was in the parking lot) and then told us that "she doesn't blame us for wanting to leave!!!!" The hotel's own employee said that to it's customers! This hotel was $215.33 originally online but i got it for a discount through my work of $155.35...I have to wait 7-10 business days to receive this refund. On top of all that, we had plans to go to the state park the following day. There was a Coast Guard Festival happening in a nearby town so everything was completely booked. We ended up being forced to drive the 3 hours back home and had to cancel our state park hiking plans for the next day. I called and requested to speak to a manager at this hotel to put a formal complaint in. The frost desk man asked the manager if she was available (he failed to cover the phone so I could hear it all) and she said to just take my name and number. I am still waiting on Julie, the manager, to give me a phone call back.

This place doesn't even deserve a one star. I was here over thanksgiving break and the hotel made it less great. My sister and I stayed here. We walked into the lobby which looked very pretty so we were sure we were going to have a good time at the hotel. We went up on the elevator and it was very shaky which freaked us out a bit. It also smelled like someone was growing pot. We started walking in the hallways and it smelled really bad. Similar to the smell in the elevator. Then we walked in our first room. The first thing we saw was that our toilet was clogged. So we called the front desk to get our rooms changed. The second room had lots of problems. Clothes in the closet (that weren't ours), no knobs on some drawers, poop stains on a chair, tv wasn't working, no iron board with an iron, alarm clock wasn't working, a cockroach came out of the sink and then again the toilet got clogged (my sister only peed, that's it). So we called and once again we switched rooms. This time there wasn't much problems. The one problem we had was that there was no phone in the room. The morning that we were leaving, we had the maid keep coming to the door. They mostly talked to my sister so i briefly know what was said. I remember her telling them we didn't have a phone. The next time we heard a knock, a worker just gave her a phone and told her to connect it to the wall. Like really??? The manager was overall nice and seemed to care about our stay but whoever cleans or fixes the rooms need to do a better job. All the problems we had made the stay not the greatest. It was cheap but it wasn't worth the money I paid for. The manager said we could stay an extra night for free but we wouldn't even stay there for free. That's how bad it was. The only good part about the hotel was the indoor pool.
