Very nice and lonely place. Feb to April is the season and need to be there in the early mornings. Need permission from the forest officials before entering the place. Forest officials are very nice and friendly. Around 3 kms walk to go around the place.

If raining season is good, lot of birds will arrive. If dry season you can't expect many birds.

It is big lake attracting more migratory birds. It is a good tourist attraction. We have to walk for a distance not more than 500 mts from main road. We can see a number of birds like purple moorhen, egrets, storks and more. Great place for birdwatchers, nature lovers and biologist. Best time to visit is within November and March. Because the lake is full of water, quiet beautiful and attract lots of birds. We can reach the place easier from district headquarters,Thiruvarur or better from pattukottai, muthupet Mannargudi.. Eatables are preferred to take of your own.
