5/5! I've been coming here for a while now, and this is hands down one of my favorite places to go for ramen and rice bowls. The Food: I've had the ramen here before, and it was absolutely delicious! Noodles cooked perfectly and the broth was full of flavor and super rich! Well portioned too. But this time, I went with a "Chicken Karaage Curry Rice Bowl". It was incredibly delicious! The creamy, yet light curry sauce paired so well with the crisp chicken karaage. And, all of that mixed with some rice? To die for. The Service: Service here is always good! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They are always attentive and do frequent check ups as well. The Atmosphere: Umai is a small restaurant, but well worth the wait in my opinion. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but is limited. Even take out is a good option as well. But, the restaurant is very nicely decorated and clean, so that's a plus! Overall, a 5/5! Absolutely recommend visiting Umai and giving them a try! Delicious food and great/friendly service!

So far I’ve been here twice, but I know that I will come back many, many times. My husband were driving around the area and saw Umai while we were picking out take out from another restaurant. We looked it up and immediately knew we had to check it out! And I’m SO glad we did. It’s a very small restaurant. There’s a couple of tables, some bar spots, and some tables outside. They do take reservations, though, if you call ahead, which is nice. The first time we came on a Saturday around 7:30 and were glad to get seats inside at the bar. We were blown away by the food! I got the curry ramen and my husband got the Katsu curry with rice. We both loved our dishes. The curry ramen was the perfect combination of everything good - the curry broth was slightly spicy, the chicken was perfect, and the noodles were great. We also got there karaage chicken (didn’t get a picture) which was great. The chicken pieces were large and juicy, and the dipping sauce was very good. The second time we came, my mom was visiting. We made reservations ahead of time. My mom isn’t very adventurous with her food, but even she was blown away by Umai. So far we’ve loved everything we’ve eaten here so far, and can’t wait to keep coming back and trying more and enjoying it all!

Definitely coming back. It’s a very small place. Mostly outdoor seating. Tried a sake and it was excellent. Dumplings were the best I ever had. Very fresh, tasty and perfect texture. The ramen soup was very flavorful.

Great hole in a wall food. Authentic, fast and quality flavors and food. We had amazing umami bomb crispy mushroom buns, nice house Sake, very good sea weed salad and had three vegetarian ramen bowls. My favorites was spicy miso with egg, then Tom Yum ramen and last Japanese Ramen. They really pack the bowls with a lot of food and very thick dense broths. Very filling. Small heart fealt place for sure. I highly recommend. It is also $4-5 cheaper than Jinya and family run.

Pretty much one of the best ramen places to go in the area. The inside is very clean and cute, well decorated. There aren't many inside seating but they do have outside seating as well. Their Chashu Pork Bun is some of the best you can find. My favorite is their Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and its flavorful, spiciness usually taints the flavor but this one doesn't.

My friend and I both really enjoyed our dishes! She got the teriyaki chicken and I got the ramen curry chicken. I was told the curry was a little spicy, but it really wasn't at all. Next time, I will ask them to make it a little hotter. 😋 It was still delicious! Definitely going again!

Small place but cute. Got the shoyu ramen and it was bland, lacking the umami flavor you expect from ramen. But added their chili oil in and that helped give it flavor. Takoyaki was fine. $5 hh sake was nice. Worker decided to have a seat with the guests seated at a table behind us making the already small space feel even tighter. Would I try again, yes, to give it another chance. Would I recommend it yet, not quite.

There is limited seating indoors and as this is a strip mall, outdoor seating is not great. That said food makes up for it. Vegan Tomyum Ramen is the best ramen in the area. Veggies Japanese curry is also good. Umai Curry and Tomyum Ramen are popular. Good for take out, the staff is great. One can sit at the bar or few tables for 2 or 4. With many veg options is our fav ramen place.
