We went there for a girls’ spa weekend to relax and be away from kids and husbands. Unfortunately, we weren’t too impressed with the Landsdowne resort. First of all, overnight guests have to pay for parking. Mind you, it’s an outside parking lot with lots of empty spots. Second of all, the front desk staff was snooty and unhelpful. We had a few questions and every single answer was led by “no, you can’t…” or “no, we can’t…”. The grounds were beautiful, the food&drinks at Coton and Rye were good, the room was nice (albeit there were some weird black stains on the sheets). Overall, the stay was not worth the high rate of the room. We also didn’t end up going to the spa. Why spend more money on a place we don’t feel welcome in the first place.

My husband and I came to relax here on our mini honeymoon and we were very pleased with our stay. We booked a couples massage in the spa and enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi facilities. The whole spa visit was very peaceful and relaxing. We had a comfortable room with a nice view of the grounds. We also enjoyed the pools since it was July and very hot and we needed a place to cool down. Very lovely visit and we would stay again!

After a few fancy conferences at places like a Gaylord, I would rather come to this cozy, relaxing resort and conference center to enjoy the amenities and the outdoors. Breakfast buffet with a short order omelet cook will run $25. Evening dining at the Coton & Rye is worth every penny and comes with a selection of drinks. Pool closes at 8. Would love to see the hot tub stay open a bit later. No need to miss a workout with the exceptionally equipped gym and workout rooms. Nothing but exceptional service.

I booked the double balcony room for a solo quiet weekend away from home which is only 30 min away. I requested the highest floor and got room 903. Perfect! The view is amazing. It is a corner room so you have views from two sides and tons of light coming in. The room is very spacious. A little dated but cozy and clean and worth every penny. I’ve posted some pics of the inside of the room and pics of the balconies from the outside of the building. There weren’t any pics of this particular room online so I thought I would post some to help the next person. The double room balconies are on the left side looking up from the rear of the building. The suites are next door and they have the middle and right side balconies. This room is on the best side of the building for views and quiet. It’s at the very end of the hallway so no hallway traffic or noise. Clearly, peace and quiet was the goal for me on this getaway. I spent most of my time on the balcony. It is a very nice property and the service is great. I will be returning for future getaways.

This is my second time at this hotel and what the change since my last visit is they are now charging $15 per day for parking so when you arrive each day is $15 so our two night stay is additional $45, the outdoor pool is nice and there are some lovely wineries, I complained about the parking and the receptionist was super friendly and waived the amount, the rooms are a good size and clean but I think overall the cost is not worth it you pay for a spa treatment in advanced you get to use the SPA we didn’t know this and got here and the treatment slots are full which means we don’t get access to the spa!! if this is part of the hotel they should at least give each person a guest voucher for the spa - it’s a nice hotel but overpriced for what they offer and the additional new charge for parking and spa rules makes the visit less enjoyable!!!

I picked this place for a short distance getaway to celebrate my wedding anniversary. Some of the reviews my wife read were not accurate. Thankfully we didn't listen to them and stayed here. We had a great time! It is a nice mini resort. The rooms were nice and clean and the service was great. We ate primarily at the resort and enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. Great gym and pool. I'm not a golfer but the course looked nice. The Spa is FABULOUS. I highly recommend this place!

The meals at the Resort restaurant were subpar for the price point, which was a bit of a let down to be honest. $5-6 less per dish and maybe they’d be worthwhile, but too pricey for what you actually get. On a completely different note, the volleyball courts at the resort are nice and well attended to, with regulation nets and workable sand.

Room charge was $500 plus a $32 resort fee. Room had no amenities in it, mini bar empty, no room service, tiny bathroom, bathroom door had an inch clearance to close without hitting the toilet. Room had 2 double beds so we could not comfortably sleep in the same bed together. The room was what I would expect at a Best Western at about 1/5 the cost.

This was our second time around staying here and wow talk about a nice get away. Wineries near by for the wife and an amazing golf course in the back of the hotel for me. I didn't have time to golf but I was able to hit a few balls off the driving range, all free. The breakfast buffet was okay but the staff were so friendly and always checked up on me like I was staying at a resort in Cancun. The one thing that led me to write this review is when I got home and realized I had forgotten my very expensive gold lighter "s.t. dupont". It was a gift from a family member. The lost prevention specialist looked into it and I got my lighter back within 2 days. My fault and they corrected it. Honesty and Integrity, some things you can't put a price on.

Overall a somewhat okay experience but this is not a four-star hotel as it claims. Spa was great and the facial service was wonderful. However I scheduled to have an updo as I was to be a guest at a wedding that was being held at the resort. For $100 the hairstylist teased my hair and put it in a knot without curling any of it. When I asked for her to make it looser and more pieces curled, she pulled out one piece (see pictures). She was also quite unprofessional complaining about past clients the entirety of the appointment. - Reserving two nights under the wedding room blocks was a nightmare. The groom had to put us in his own suite the first night. We weren’t able to check into our actual room the next day (of the wedding) until 2PM. Absolutely ridiculous. - My husband was in the wedding and the day of had to ask for an iron four different times. - room service is only served until 10:30am for some reason? - Overall the aesthetics were a bit dated, one of the rooms smelled of smoke, the hotel restaurant food was disappointing and the restaurant felt dark and closed in not having any windows. The positives were: the scenic views, breakfast, and the spa (not including the salon).

We had a great time with the family including our dogs. Our children enjoyed all the amenities and especially liked the tennis sessions with Coach Khamp. They’ve taken many tennis lessons, but we felt like we’ve know Coach Khamp forever, on the first day! Very friendly and made it fun while adding precise detail about improvement skills. We will always book a session with him while there. We really love this place.

Very nice resort. Rooms were spacious, clean and nice looking. Customer service was very good. Visited for my church’s woman ministry retreat. The conference rooms we used were spacious and clean. Nice variety of snacks and drinks for our break out stations. The restaurant food was good. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet the most. This is a very relaxing resort and I would come again.

I live in Washington DC area and was given a 500$ gift certificate for Landsdowne. I made a big mistake-I stayed overnight and ate dinner there. I should have used it for spa treatments and left. Live and learn.I will say the room was very nice since I was upgraded. That was the only part of the experience that was positive. The adult pool experience was disgusting. It was most uncomfortable, food and beverage service was poor and NOT accommodating. Watered down cocktails, disgusting food with hot food being lukewarm at best. Service was sporadic and frequently unavailable. Dinner experience was absolutely one of the worst we’ve experienced even in a 3rd world country. The server Emma, was the only positive experience. The filet mignons were well prepared but everything else was mediocre at best. Potatoes like wallpaper paste and salad was thrown together with little to no dressing. No bread offered until it was requested-twice! Room service VERY limited. They offer no toast or bagel at breakfast. No hot or warm options offered. Very similar & limited menu at the pool actually. Landsdowne is a membership driven resort meaning there are golf and pool memberships. It was obvious since the guests experiencing overnight lodging were scarce. I don’t know the profile of guests that stay here but obviously they don’t have many options for other more upend experiences. I cannot warn you enough look for other options for a weekend getaway. Unless you’re happy with mediocre experiences do not waste your time or money at Landsdowne. Absolutely disgusting excuse for a resort.

Lisa was the absolute best! We were checking in late and she made sure everything went smoothly. She made us feel so comfortable and we will definitely be coming back because of her. Great place thank you!!!

All of the staff here are very kind and nice and helpful and pleasant, but to be honest a few of the other customers are pretty obnoxious. A lot of "do you know who I am" types, people cutting lines and being rude to servers and the like. The resort is incredibly beautiful and well kept, and the rooms are nice, but nothing special to be honest. The little area where there is live music and drinks by the golf course, Harmony Garden is a highlight and the staff gave our son a complimentary s'mores kit that absolutely made his night. They also do not mess around with the pours here when you order wine, and the selection is quite good too. Our son also loved the pool and the place is very family friendly. All in all a nice place for a family weekend.

Great stay - 😍😇 - we booked a spa and putt and WOW! I played golf ⛳️ while my wife received a spa treatment and massage! Hotel service was 5 star, the course and the spa were impeccable as well!

Tried this resort for the first time, and here is what I experienced. Overall, I saw a lot of deferred maintenance across the resort. most annoying was an entire set of elevators that never worked the entire time I was there. The room was fine until the wedding that night had a band that blared until 1230 am. Despite calls to the manager, no ability to have them turn down the music despite the hotel being plastered across every hallway that quiet hours start at 10 PM. The manager finally comped the room for the night. Also, for a resort, you would expect the pools to be open from 10 am to at least 8 pm, but the outdoor pools were only open from noon to 6 pm. Only the indoor pool was open as no lifeguard was required. The staff was considerate, but somehow far from happy. Probably would not go again.

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. The staff was always extremely friendly and helpful even when our flight was delayed over 6.5 hours and we decided to stay another night. The restaurants in the resort are top class places to eat. I only wish it wasn’t raining the weekend were there so that we could have walked the beautiful grounds more and maybe play a round of golf. All and all a great choice for a weekend getaway. The spa is second to none in the facility as well.

My parents booked a 2-night stay at the Landsdowne Resort and Spa for 19-21 Apr 23. They used 148 Disney Vacation Club points for this stay. On 15 Apr 23 my dad took a tragic fall that required extensive surgery and hospital stay. I called the resort on 17 Apr 23 once we found out how extensive my dad’s injuries were and the surgical plan. I explained my parents would not be able to travel as planned (19-21 Apr 23) because of my dad’s injuries and asked if it was possible to rebook those 2 nights for a future stay. Mind you I am making this call in the operating room waiting room as we anxiously awaited the update from the surgeon on my dad. After being transferred to a few different people and explaining the situation I was transferred to a manager. The manager said they would need approval from Disney Vacation Club (DVC) to change the reservation dates. My parents were not looking to get their 148 points back, just move the reservation for 2 nights to a later date. I did a three-way telephone call with DVC and a different manager who advised me that this was not possible. The manager would not honor the information the previous manager told me. Obviously, my parents were extremely disappointed. They receive a total of 210 DVC points each year and wasted 148 on a 2-night stay that they couldn’t even go on because of my dad’s injuries. Numerous follow-up phone calls were made to the resort with no resolution. I would recommend you think twice before booking a stay here. In the event you have a situation or life event outside of your control it is very likely the hotel WILL NOT work with you, and you forfeit money/points. My parents are in their 70s and this was going to be their first vacation since COVID and were going to visit me for my birthday in Virginia. All my parents were looking for was a little grace...

Went with a few friends for a night and the facilities were very nice and more importantly, the rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. What I did not like is that the elevators were not working. There are four elevators and only one was operable. Also, there was some loud noises coming through some of the vents in some of the rooms. Actually sounded like an airplane was landing. Im not a golfer but it seems to me like the golf course is very nice. Definitely recommend you to go here if golf is your thing. The pools were nice, if your looking for a staycation- it’s close enough to go relax and unwind and feel like you went somewhere. My friends used the spa and the sauna. They really enjoyed it and loved the services they signed up for. This hotel is also dog friendly. I thought this was interesting because you don’t see that around here too often.

This resort is absolutely not worth the money. Cost of rooms for my stay were 3x that of a typical hotel in the are (and comfort is about on par with a typical holiday inn) - and what do you get for paying a 3x premium? Nothing. Here’s a run down of thing you have to pay for: -Breakfast - $25 -Parking - $15/day -Hot tub and sauna - $35/ day and not worth it, the ‘spa’ is a tiny hot tub, tiny sauna, and a half-working tiny steam room -Massage - $85 (or so?) -Lunch/Dinner avg cost - $40 (1 meal and 1 drink) - All bills include a ‘Resort Fee’ even though there’s nothing ‘resort’ about this place. Annoyances: -No room service for dinner (just breakfast) -Outdoor pool closes fall to spring -Indoor pool/hot tub closes at 7:30PM each day -WiFi barely works throughout the hotel (insanely weak signal can barely stream a video when hotel has many guests) Positives: -Nothing stay at a Holiday Inn save $100’s and get same quality and better ammenities.

the service at this place was great. the people were amazing to talk to and would answer any questions that i had. i didn't have a problem with anything as they were so efficient. the area also has restaurants and a pool along with a plethora of other amenities such as a golf course and a bunch of conference rooms. great place to stay

This resort is in a great location near shopping. Multiple fireplaces on site, 3 places to eat meals, nice rooms, indoor pool and hot tub ( hot tub needs resurfacing), great gym also. I have to come back in the warm seasons to enjoy the outdoor amenities too. Golf is available for those who golf too.

  • 3/5 Meredith L. 1 month ago on Google New
Overpriced, grant it, there’s nothing better in the area. Completely dismal experience. No life to this resort in the winter, maybe it’s good if you golf. We just needed a place to stay for the night and we couldn’t check out fast enough.

Had a wonderful overnight getaway at Lansdowne! The service was excellent, very welcoming and accommodating, even granted us an early check-in and late check-out that we requested since it was not a busy time. Left us a lovely little dessert with chocolate covered strawberries in our room for our anniversary. I recommend asking for a room overlooking the Potomac/golf course for best view. Honestly, it is not the newest hotel one can book, but they have all the amenities and there’s something to be said for great service. Great location very close to Leesburg (10min into town) and main roads into DC and to either Dulles or Reagan airports. I hope to return in Summer.

Everything about this place is amazing. The wife booked a room a d spa for my birthday and this place was so relaxing. The room was super elegant and the staff was great. I've been frequently playing golf here more often. 10 out of 10

Lansdowne is a golf club with a hotel business on the side. The facilities and hotel are beautiful, however, the service is some of the worst I have encountered in many years. While the junior staff is motivated and tries to be helpful, it’s very clear there is no leadership/managerial support. For example, incorrect information at check in led me to be charged hundreds of extra dollars for my listed room package. After I explained this to the manager I received no reply/assistance. Life guards were often absent from their stations, teasing guests, or reading, which was appalling to see given the hundreds of guests out swimming. I wanted to participate in yoga but the class was cancelled and the staff wasn’t even aware (I was informed by another guest). I asked for an extra blanket and it never arrived. I consistently received three bath towels for a family of four. The list goes on, but the bottom line is that this resort very much lacks leadership/manager oversight.

Beautiful resort! Our 4 children, ages 12, 9, 3, & 3 were very entertained at the pools and water slide. Nice rooms, staff were courteous and helpful. We'll be back!

A secluded and relaxed experience for our 4th of July celebration. We wanted to relax our mind and body during this holiday, and here we were able to do that. Not overly crowded, with welcoming staff, good ambiance and relaxed atmosphere we truly enjoyed our stay here. The views is beautiful and peaceful. The resort is clean and well maintained. Very comfortable rooms, golfing and spa. The fireworks were beautiful and the seating was perfect with a activities for everybody including little kids. We surely will comeback.

I should have known to be skeptical of a "resort" listing "2 water bottles" as a room feature. My expectations of a resort are that I will be able to turn off my brain and fully relax. This means the role of the resort is to create an experience where that can happen. Instead, I was making lots of decisions from the moment I arrived. As other reviews have stated, this hotel (only reachable by car) charges for overnight parking in its large and mostly empty surface lot. But it goes further, the closer you park to the hotel, the more you pay. Do you want to pay $20 and walk 200 steps or $15 and walk 250? Now you get to make that choice! Ridiculous and let's me know that they do not know how to run a resort. At > $250/night for a room, do they think I would notice the difference if it were $260 and parking was free? It's about the experience. The rooms and facility were definitely dated. The hallways are dark. The bathroom has a bathtub instead of a walk-in shower. The furniture is not especially comfortable as you might expect at a resort. The double beds are really double beds and not queens, so my wife and I could not even fit in the same bed together. As far as activities, there is golf, tennis, a pool, and a spa. They have one fitness class a day and no other organized activities. Resorts should really have more to do. For a babymoon, we would be sitting by the pool and not much else, and the pool wasn't especially nice either. I give 3 stars for service because after walking the facility and my room, I was dissatisfied and not wanting to stay. This place is only an hour drive from home, so after explaining my disappointment they issued me a full refund. I think they do care, but the way the business operates, it is just not a nice experience. Oh and the claimed "2 water bottles" in the room were half size 😂. Joke.

Attended this location for a business conference. Hotel wasn't complicated to navigate and staff was friendly and willing to be helpful. I thought the food was some of the best I've had at any resort. Even means made in mass for the entire group were very good. Bar was a very nice size to spread out if you wanted. Rooms were good, nothing overly special but clean and nice. Would definitely do it again.

I held a team spa weekend at Landsdowne Resort. Despite THREE WEDDINGS going on at the same time, every detail was executed flawlessly! The spa experience is a must do, and our dinner at the Piedmont was delicious, not to mention the staff working were DEDICATED to service - the wait staff in the restaurant literally RAN to the tables when food was ready. Extremely attentive to our experience - treat yourself. I gave the rooms 4 stars ONLY because I feel the entire resort - being as well managed as it is - could maybe use a little decor refreshment. The carpets and tiles are dated. But very minor detail!

Really had a great time at this resort. The rooms are warm and cozy and the staff are welcoming and friendly. There are a few decent dishes to be tried. Enough greenery to have a walk or a jog that leads onto the river.

I got the chance to photograph a wedding at this location and it was so great to be here. Both bride and groom stayed at the resort so it was so easy flowing from place to place. The ceremony location was perfect. It was shaded and provided great light which is a must for summer weddings. The staff was very helpful. It was a pleasure to be there. ig@jsasuphotography

Stayed here years ago and I was passing through town and got a room for the evening. Great atmosphere, clean, staff was extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend. The bartender was fantastic, I called ahead and she stayed open until I got there so I could grab a cocktail after a long day of traveling.

We really enjoyed our time at Lansdowne Resort. We had drinks & appetizers at the pub area. We went to dinner at the restaurant. It was delicious! And the service was excellent! I wish I had more time to spend in the spa; I didn't realize it was all included with my massage service. So, just know that you can enjoy many of the benefits of the spa if you book a service! Holiday time was a lovely time to be there.

I gave it 4 stars only because of the service. The concierge and front staff are superb. Matt is at the front desk and is very personable and helpful. He's a great problemsolver. As for the rooms, they are very dated. Our bathroom tub looked dirty and the air in the room was stale. I looked forward to leaving. The cost of spa services is really high.

Came here for work. Great event center and hotel around 15 minutes from the airport. The rooms are clean and spacious with fully functional climate control. Check the Dejia gift shop for health foods. Front desk staff is amazing and willing to go the extra mile.

I was in town for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel was very clean, and the customer service was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and I did sleep well. I Ioved the view of the grounds from our balcony. I do think the rooms could be updated, but overall, the room was good and served it's purpose.

So my only gripe is still there. The bathroom sink set in the middle of the bathroom has a table leg that sits in the middle. My foot hits that every time I stay there. Otherwise the location, bars, ambience, food, golf and setting are excellent..I love the pool and spa. I want more time here. Also a great setting for weddings, just a beautiful well curated set for an important moment.

I had a very enjoyable stay. I love the fireplace tables at night and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff was attentive and accommodating. The infused water was delicious and the spa is a little pricey but the massage was amazing. I'm definitely coming back.
