This park is an awesome place to hang out for dating people. It is full of romantic feelings where people can always come across a lovely wedding. There are also a library and several playgrounds near the park. The most thing is that it is free!

This place was really awesome. My girlfriend wanted to go and I wasn't thrilled at first. I'm glad I decided to go. There are so many different kinds of roses. Also, even in mid October there were still lots in bloom. It was a nice easy walk and lots of chances for pictures too. We brought our dog but there were many dogs there not on leashes.

My absolute favorite park in Columbus with a hidden gem to explore. Roses are beautiful when in bloom. & there’s a trail that is pretty expansive

The overall park complex is nice. The playground area and around the ponds could use a little clean up, but it has everything and is a large space with a lot to do. What makes this place a must visit is the park of roses in the complex. This is a very well-kept and beautiful site. This will definitely catch your eye. The paths go on for a while around the flowers, and there are a few different sections you can explore.

This was a great place to walk around and lose track of time. I used my new (to me) camera here for the first time and took a lot of good pictures. It was very peaceful and wasn't busy for a park of that size. There were a lot of places to rest along the way, a public water fountain in case you forgot a drink and a lot of great photo opportunities. There was also a large green area great for picnics!

Good place for a stroll. Deers came in the early evening. The roses were at the end of bloom now early July. There are other small gardens to view. It's worth a visit anytime, free.

Lots of parking to start, and then a great little walking area with perennials, many different roses, flowering trees. There is a little walk up tower in the center to take some pictures. It is amazing when the roses are in bloom but even when it is not, still a nice walking area. Not much relevance anymore, but there are also Pokémon gyms!

Such a lovely place for a casual stroll. The grounds are gorgeous. Between the foliage, blooming flowers, well kept paths, plenty of open space, and fresh air it is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.

Such a beautiful place! You will stop and wonder how they don't charge admission to enter here.. It's a great place to walk the dog and get your exercise in. Go early though because shade is limited and it gets hot quick! I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to get their kids, dogs or spouse out of the house lol

My favorite park in Columbus, any time of year! I love to explore more than just the main park, but the roses always steal the show. Forgoing for mushrooms is my thing, so many varieties around this area! Take a walk around and you will most certainly fall in love here! Also has rentable areas for special events (there was a wedding there today)!

Great place to spend the day and check out all the beautiful plants and flowers. They have very nice walkways and paths that lead to different sections. It looks like a perfect place to hold an outside wedding or large event. Restrooms are located onsite however due to COVID-19 they only have portable bathrooms available. Handicap accessible parking available and plenty of parking right out front. We really enjoyed our walk through the gardens and down by the creek that runs through. It would be a great place to go bring kids of any age to run and explore. Pet friendly if they are leashed and someone even had doggie treats sitting around in different areas, so if your dog is on a diet watch out. I really enjoyed the identification plaques on all the different species of plants along the way.

Gorgeous park with tons of flowers and roses to admire. Beautiful walking areas and lots of things to see. We walked the entire pathway and it was a very pleasant stroll through the park. This is one park in Columbus that everyone should visit.

I came the wrong time of year out of medical necessity. It was still calming and relaxing, and the dog and I got much needed recreation and fresh air. The ducks on the fishing pond were charming, as were the kids on the playground... But the only flowers in bloom were wild ones untended by man, only invigorated by God.

Absolutely beautiful garden and park. Scrupulously maintained with an amazing array of different flowers and flora. It's open enough that even on a Saturday you can easily maintain social distancing.

An oasis of comfort and chill in Columbus, near a nice neighborhood and within walking distance of trails and fields by the river. Popular for pictures and memory-making, perfect for lazy strolls and meandering thoughts. A fun, relaxing, and poignant place to revisit over time, to gauge your changing years against its slowly stalled sameness. Visual music and sweet scents. A place to hold a beautiful time. We had our wedding pictures here and don’t regret it.

I visited this place 30 years ago with my dad. So, to come back with my wife so many years later was a treat. We visited late in the season (end of August) but there were still so many roses in bloom and other beautiful plants to see it was mesmerizing! Just get there!

Beautiful!!! There was so much blooming.. Was a crew there of workers/ volunteers deheading, (which looked like some should have been done a while ago) around the water feature we couldn't even go close due to all the people working, of course then the roses they weren't blooming there, which HAS to be lovely when blooming! ...never the less was free,( though I would have paid to go!!!)

Beautiful park. Lots of open walkways, tons of stunning roses to view. I recommend you come between Mother's day and the end of June to see the best selection of flowers! This is a great place to take senior pictures or have a wedding. There are also tennis courts, large open grass areas and plenty of parking.

We visited early July and although I’ve never been in full bloom, I think we missed “full bloom” this year. The flowers were still very beautiful and it’s so peaceful to walk around. There are so many benches, lots of other people walking around (not crowded, just well attended) and lots of people with dogs. It’s obviously a great place for a photoshoot but also a calm morning walk. We will definitely be back soon!

A beautiful rose garden Suitable for both dating couples. Or come for a walk for the family. The walking distance around the park is not very long. Roses and other flowers are beautiful, and evening is probably the best time for summer.

A beautiful area containing various types of flowers, herbs, children’s toys, seating areas, and a lake... but it is poor in bathrooms, and there are portable bathrooms in it, but they are not clean and have a strong smell.

Amazing variety of flowers, free to visit, always stop and smell the Rose's you wont regret it! Just ensure to plan the timing of your visits as some times the flowers (in some areas) are now budding and will not have blossomed ywt. Well maintained grounds, huge variety of shrubs and roses to enjoy (make sure you smell them, some are super sweet!) Or pick a nice patch of clean green to lay down and listen to the leaves under a shady tree. Some of the best relaxing down time you can ever have. Lots of benches and overall takes about an hour to fully visit all the spots. Not bad! Thanks to the staff for keeping it so pristine. Could use better care at the porta potties tho! (Or at least a few more)

This is one of my favorite parks in Columbus! It’s always so beautiful and the nature you see is amazing. When the roses bloom they are breath taking! If you haven’t made a visit, you definitely should. 🥀

We like to come here for short strolls and maybe have a coffee with us and talk a bit and just look at nature and life and be around other kind people. To be clear they have gazebos and benches and paths and archways, all laden with trees and plants and wrapped natural filigree and an utterly exceptional flower garden. I can hardly think of a more lovely place to walk.

Beautiful rose blooms in so many different colors and varieties. Late Spring is one of the best times to visit. In the back side of the park, there's a peaceful little garden area to enjoy some shade and fresh air. A fountain in the center of the park adds to the beauty. Unlike the Franklin Conservatory, this park is free to visit. There is ample parking available but the lot fills up on the weekends due to the popularity of the place. Although there aren't any play areas for children inside the park, there's a play ground just walking distance from the park for families with young kids to spend time at before or after the park visit. All in all, it's a great place to visit with loved ones.

We enjoyed a nice stroll through this well maintained garden. Found plant labels which were very helpful. The paths are mostly flat gravel path that were easy to navigate. The garden hours are the same as the park. Dogs on leash are allowed.

This was my first time visiting and I really enjoyed my time there. This park is full of beautiful flowers and roses. I walked the whole pathway it was so peaceful. When I was there Red Robin’s flew around the park and you’ll see rabbits hopping around the gardens. I highly recommend everyone visit this park.

Located in the Clintonville neighborhood just north of downtown, this park is free to everyone! We visited the first week of June, and the roses were in full bloom. In fact, some species were just past their prime, so the last few days of May might be the ideal time to see the majority at their peak. Nevertheless, it was still a lovely day. As the summer progresses, there are other gardens in the park that will peak, so there is always something in bloom. There are perennial gardens, herb gardens, gazebos, fountain, in addition to some some topiary features. Plenty of parking too. A must see!

  • 5/5 Guillermo T. 1 year ago on Google
First time visiting the gardens. I’m amazed at how many rose plants they have! It’s a great time to visit the park (May/June) while many of roses are blooming. It’s a therapeutic walk with short trails and a diverse array of plants.

Love this park! Will forever go down in my favorite park history. I helped set up my best friends proposal. I was free of charge. I called and made sure with the park and they also said that I was able to be there until dusk. It’s first come first serve. But we didn’t have an issue with others complying to allow us to set up for the proposal. Everything was successful, and they are now engaged. Hit me up for all your engagement needs. Lol!

The gardens are beautiful. I enjoyed the roses and the herb areas. We spent a little time here but wish we’d had several hours. It’s a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy some time on the many benches.

A second visit a few years later... We were early for the massive bloom... Next week might be THE weekend to go. Regardless.... Beautiful gardens with inspirational displays. An excellent place to spend a morning.

  • 4/5 Prakash C. 10 months ago on Google
June first week and rose garden is in full bloom. The garden has so many rose varieties from generous donors, rose lovers 💖 will find most of their favorites here at one place. Roses are as old as 17th century to new Era breeds. From white , yellow , pink , purple, orange , red and maroon ... ofcourse multi colors ... big and small... delicate and hardy... fragrant and colorful ... wild and cultivated T ( bouquet appropriate) shaped.

  • 4/5 Dina T. 10 months ago on Google
Lovely gardens!! Many roses still to bloom in June.♡♡♡~ HOWEVER, the city needs to put in permanent restrooms for visitors. Porta-potties just don't do the trick. Little kids and seniors, (and me!), shouldn't have to cut our visit short just because nature calls.

  • 4/5 David S. 8 months ago on Google • 13 reviews
Great place for multigenerational families! also cyclists, walkers, runners. Walking is easy on the paved paths that wind thru the park; the rose garden (its more like a small arboretum than just a garden, imo) is definitely a place you will want to visit if you like beautiful plants.

Whetstone Park of roses is my favorite park. The roses are always gorgeous. With really cute gazebos. There are two different playgrounds, a casting pond, baseball fields, soccer field,, tennis courts, and bike paths. It really has something for everyone. The rose gardens are just a little past the library, but definitely walking distance.

This is a great location for a solo, couple, friends, or family relaxing walk or picnic in the gardens. There are plenty of open spaces as well as tucked away corners to either people watch or connect privately with your companions. I thoroughly enjoy the variety of roses, which are well kept and flourish through the summer. Great for photos and close to amenities in Clintonville if you want to make a day of it and have lunch, enjoy outdoor recreation and then relax.
