Our server Kat was incredible! She worked the floor like a rockstar all while being friendly and personable. This place also had the best calamari I’ve ever eaten. Kat said that they batter the calamari here (makes a difference). I ordered two plates of calamari! The homemade bread accompanying the beef stew was outstanding! My sister loved the crab dip. The cheese cake had a caramel drizzle and was served with whipped cream and strawberries. The strawberries must have been Maryland-grown, they were so juicy and fresh. The only thing I couldn’t rave about was the beef stew. It was served incredibly hot; however, it needs more beef.

Was a Saturday night, and right after Downtown Frederick "fire in ice" (or "and ice", or "n' ice", or whatever it's called that bored people argue about, lol), and we went to watch a friend's band (The Few) and it was packed butt-to-nut. In this case it was in a good way--a bunch of mostly behaving people happy to be out dancing, singing, and enjoying a night out. That said, if you don't like 1. being touched/bumped (humped? Lol) by other humans, or 2. still choose a masking lifestyle, or 3. loud music, it's probably not the jam for you, lol. Your anxiety will be on overdrive and you will probably not be able to hide that energy. Oh and if you 4. have plans to really hydrate (or inebriate), better come with someone 6'2 plus (or make a friend or two with a guardian angel sitting at the bar), because if you're only 5 ft tall like me, you'll never get noticed seen to order. Drink order line is stacked for 2-5 people deep all around the bar perimeter at any given time. Not my first rodeo there, so I knew the rules, lol--I make friends easily to get what I need, even though I'm no longer a downtown regular like in a past life, I made it work. Overall a good traditional bar atmosphere on a weekend night, and there's a reason why Bushwallers is still a staple after all these years. Though feeling way too old to be there as the 20-somethings started to fill the place out just after midnight, I confess I did turn into a 48 year old pumpkin and went home to put on my jammies. Lol.

First time ever going to this place and found it to be one of the best places I've experienced in a long time. It has such a great cozy feel. It has a option to sit at a table or at the bar. I found the bartenders to be super friendly and pleasant to talk to. They have a great selection of different dishes on their menu. I went for the French onion soup and there macaroni and cheese with crab meet. It was unbelievable. They also had a great selection of beers. The restaurant has a lot of TVs with different sports and I watch the Olympics while eating my food and having a beer. This place is a must go to. I've never been to downtown Frederick but now I want to return mostly because I've experienced bushwallers. Enjoy because I sure did.

We love Bushwallers! The food and service are always great. My husband and I had our first date here in 2015! We love it so much we would go each month on the same date for the first year. The fish and chips is the best anywhere around. They have a great Irish whiskey selection and make an outstanding lemon drop! I can’t recommend this place enough! Just go. :)

Had a great lunch last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed my non-beef burger. I never order the non meat burgers but gave this one a try from the description...sweet potato black bean burger and it was excellent...shocked me for how tasty it was. A nice waitress and a pint of Guinness made for an excellent mid day break

Bushwallers was awesome! TC was great. He was friendly, funny and attentive. The drink list and beer selection was very nice. Thier menu was full of everything and anything. My gf and i ordered the crab dip, the Rachel and the buffalo chicken wrap. All 3 were amazing. Tasted great and full of flavor. You definitely should stop by and give them a try.

Fantastic fish and chips. Definitely lives up to the claim of best in the area. Light, airy, crisp, didn't even taste like fish. Im assuming homemade tartar sauce because it was really good. And awesome barroom fries to go with it. Staff was attentive and kind to my 2 year old. Great place to eat and drink.

Our waitress was awesome. There were people sitting outside and we were deciding whether to go in and they told us the food was great and they were absolutely correct. Their version of Shepherds pie is awesome. Now I like a crisp twice baked top on the mash potatoes and it does not have that but it's in a delicious bread bowl. Our drinks were never empty. Attentive and fun staff. Laid back atmosphere.

Traditional Irish Pub with standard pub fare. We were able to sit outside in their makeshift patio. Our service was excellent, Kat helped us. She was friendly and fast. I'd give 5 stars, but our burgers were both overcooked. We ordered medium, but they came out well done. Try the cheese curds tossed in wing sauce, it's not on the menu, but it's delicious 😋

Nice place for food and drinks. If you want some nightlife, there are bands playing there weekly. You can also play some darts as they have a few up. As with any Irish Pub, they had the normal food and drinks to match the atmopshere. Bar was hopping for being mid afternoon. We got Crab Pretzel and Cream of Crab soup. Soup was a surprise as the base was cream, but the components reminded me of a normal crab soup. Was a hybrid of both that was a tasty mix. The crab pretzel was messy, but very good. Pretzel was a bit overheated as it was hard to cut in parts. The 2 sides with it were for the pretzel itself which we liked. The fish with the chips was excellent. Crispy outside while a tender flacky fish was inside. I would have liked a second one as they were that good. Great place for friends and family friendly. Waitress were great as they only had two the time we were there running both bar and tables. They never missed a beat.

Popped in cause I was passing through town. Got the fish and chips which is probably the best I've ever had and an apple cider mule. It was pretty dead cause it was 2pm but not a problem for me at all!! The staff was super nice and I appreciated the music.

Everything about Bushwaller's screams Irish pub down to the a dart tournament that was going on in the back. Of course the real reason went to Bushwaller's was to try their food. Not all Reuben Sandwiches are equal. I believe I found my new favorite.

First time going here today. It was an excellent, delicious experience! Not crowded whatsoever. The waitress was very polite

Bushwaller’s is a local gem! This is our go-to place after my son’s lacrosse games - he loves throwing darts with me, and our family really enjoys the food and drink. Favorites include shepherds pie, Irish onion crock, wings, burgers, etc. Also, their selection on tap and signature cocktails are amazing.

Great place for drinks in Frederick! Reasonably priced, and they make quite a mean chocolate old fashioned.

I love this place. They are open super late and the atmosphere is awesome. I play darts any time I can and there is always someone there I know and can play with, if not multiple people. The bartenders are amazing. I go there often so they all know me by now, but when I first started going here, it didn't take more than 2 to 3 visits for each to not only remember my drink, but my name as well and use it when they give me my dri k to give that extra little welcoming feeling. Unfortunately, the kitchen is closed by the time I get there so I have never had their food. I am told it is great, but haven't tried it myself. If I ever get there before the kitchen closes, I will try some food and update the review. Please try this place for late night fun at the bar and maybe play some darts, you won't regret it.

Overall, I was quite impressed with the lunch I had there today. All the food I had was very good and the quantity seemed pretty decent. Everyone else's lunch looked very good as well, and everyone also enjoyed their lunch. The one common theme though, was the tap water. It is by far the worst tap water I've ever experienced in a restaurant ever, and I think everyone at the table agreed. It had some sort of off taste to it which we could not identify. Service was great and apart from forcing you to use a QR code for menus, and the water, it was a good experience and I would return.

Excellent hangout spot for drinks and food! They have specials each day and live music on Fridays. I had the cherry mule and the fish & chips. The picture doesn’t do my meal justice. fish was perfect and their fries are excellent! The bartenders are super attentive and can mix a great drink! Highly recommend!
