As of 7/22/2021, majority of the sunflowers bloomed and looks great as you'd expect. Though don't pull the same mistake we did and go to sunflower field #1 (39.075688, -77.402296) and expect to get there from parking without problems since the path/trail is poorly maintained and easy to get lost. If anything, try other fields closer to parking if you decide to come here (on a weekday morning at least). And like others said, be careful of bees and poison ivy!

As of 7.26.20 the sunflowers are in full bloom and beautiful. I highly highly recommend going as early in the morning as you can. At 9:30 a.m. it was pretty crowded and by 10:00 it was getting really crowded. There is a parking lot close by which fills up fast and then people park along the road, making the road very narrow and a little bit of a cluster to exit out of. Where sunscreen and bug spray and masks. Be aware that there are bees and dragonflies and crawfish and we even saw a snake!

Beautiful sunflowers! This is a wildlife area not a park so don't expect a park experience. No bathrooms. Only basic signage. I went at dawn and their were basically no bugs. I hear the bugs are terrible during the daytime! It was empty of people at 6 am.

Beautiful fields but a little confusing to get to and blooms before VA does! Came here for sunrise photos and trekked down a path of really tall grass from the parking lot. Overall a great experience, but definitely need bug spray and boots as it is quite soft. - Insta @SpicyAivy

Gorgeous wildlife area with multiple fields of sunflowers. Stay on the designated paths despite your desire to tromp off trail. Respect the space you’re getting to enjoy! Free entry. About a .25- .5 mile walk from the parking lot to the fields. No bathrooms.

Had a wonderful time running around the sunflower fields and going down to the river. There wasn't any real signage to mark parking/it was a rough road to follow down to the Sycamore field, but it was worth the trek. There is not an abundance of parking, though, so I could see it being a problem if it was busy on a weekend (we went in a weekday morning and had no trouble)

Beautiful sunflower field to visit. This is a late review, we went mid-August. Some of the fields is close to end (field #1), but others are in full bloom(#4). It's a large sun flower field close to Potomac river, beautiful spot to take photos. Will definitely visit very year.

Breathtaking sunflower fields. Great short walk, was quite sunny and warm the day we went so the trip was cut short but plenty of great photos taken and memories made! Parking and entry are free, but please don't pick the flowers. They aren't meant for personal collecting.

We had a great stop by here to see the sun flowers. It was so nice to be able to walk over from the parking area and see the flowers. We went with our 5 week old baby and it was an easy walk.

This place is a nice place to disconnect from your everyday life. The drive is a little far but it's not too crazy. There is just a field of sunflowers. Bring your insect repellent and water because it can get hot in the summer. It's best if you have a Jeep or an SUV to get in because there arent paved road when you get close. Cool experience but I don't plan on going again. Went with the wife to make her happy. πŸ˜‰

Visiting this sunflower field was an absolute joy! The sunflowers were stunning, creating a sea of vibrant yellow. There were plenty of great spots for capturing Instagram-worthy photos. If you're a flower enthusiast or just looking for a picturesque setting, this place won't disappoint!

This is a wonderful wildlife area within an easy drive of the DC area and, let's face it, you're going to come here for the sunflowers but don't pass up the rest of this amazing wild space!

Really cool. Not that big but it’s neat. Also the trails nearby are awesome.

A beautiful sunflower field. It's a short, easy walk from the parking lot. It absolutely gorgeous when in bloom. It was fun to walk around, take some pictures and watch the sunset. Parking and entry are free. This is a wildlife management area so there are no bathrooms. Remember to respect the space and don't pick the sunflowers!

It’s just some sunflowers, some of them withered, lots of bugs, good place for taking break and some fresh air, FYI no restroom there.
