The staff were the saving grace here. They were helpful, friendly, and willing to compensate for the on site limitations. This place is not handicap friendly, and the parking garage is so small our car was damaged (their lower bars are NOT accurate to size). My wheelchair didn't fit anywhere, let alone my scooter. The hottub was also not accessible by wheelchair, and the sidewalk so bad I couldn't even go down the street. That could be due to construction, but oof. The rooms are very small, which is okay if you don't rely on mobility equipment. This place is geared mostly toward healthy students. They do have a lot of amenities in a joint kitchen area and large fridge in the rooms.

Rooms were very clean, lovely building with good parking garage. Small rooms but worked great for an overnight stay. Near construction currently and getting around was kind of tight.

It’s a joke. This place is way too small, basically a box for the price they make you pay. No one cleans up after themselves in the kitchens and the walls are extremely thin. Garage parking is also way too overpriced. The late fee also for one day over is 10% which was not clearly mentioned, and on top of that apparently it’s $5 more each day starting the 5th of the month. Not to mention how in the beginning of the move in process they kept everyone hanging wondering what was going on with the move in dates. They had to move it back several times which is understandable because everything is new but they didn’t email everyone until very late notice and we had no clue what was going on. You could find a very nice apartment decently near campus for half the price. I really am disappointed in myself for choosing this place, I should have known better.

Do not live here. I have lived here for six months and so angry only six months left till my lease is over. The only benefit is it is close to the campus. The monthly fee is around 925 with 188 square feet. I could not fit all my stuff in the room, so I have to rent a storage, which costs 100 bucks. The service is bad too. There is no package room. I have never seen apartments cost more than 900 bucks without package rooms. The staffs forget their duties. They forget to return packages. There is a heater very close to a bed, and every time it runs, it makes a loud noise and bothers sleeping. I am so ready to move out. There are a lotta places, which are spacious with cheaper price.

Though small, the room was well designed and felt comfortable. Parking garage was ideal and the espresso pods in the room were good. The water pressure was really low and no USB outlets in the room were my only qualms. Solid experience. Would recommend.

My husband and I were in Columbus for the evening. Booked this location based on reviews. Something different than our usually downtown stays. Reviews were accurate. Current construction in front of the property made entry a little difficult. One-way street but because of construction street has two-way traffic. Nothing major though. Check-in was a breeze and staff was very friendly and welcoming. You even get a free mini Jeni's ice cream upon arrival :) Property as described. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. Everything you need for an overnight stay. I couldnt imagine a lengthy staybin a small space. The common/kitchen area on the 6th floor is pretty cool! Found out that part of the building is tenant apartments and other part is hotel rentals. Great idea. The only issue we had was parking my husband's truck. AT4 that barely clears the 7 foot entry. Garage clearance got lower each level 6'9/6'10 and we couldnt go up or down with out damage to our vehicle. Not only is overhead low the parking garage is small too. Talked to the front desk and they were happy to accommodate our vehicle in the first level (tenant) parking. Overall we had a great stay and would return again.

We stayed at the Urban for the OSU/PENN STATE game!!! The only complaint I would have is the size of the rooms…..I do have to say though that they have maximized the space to full extent and you are lacking nothing!!! The whole place is immaculately clean, super close to lots of things to walk to and especially close to the stadium. The attendant at the front desk was friendly and easy to talk to!!! We would definitely book here again!!! I forgot to mention the spacious parking garage underneath was very nice as well!!! It was well lit and the spaces were great!!!

A great stay at The Urban! Micro-apartment was small, but well-designed and very clean. Adorable decor! Great areas for residents and guests with the community kitchens/sitting areas. Staff was friendly and helpful—I could see that Jared (Community Mgr) was very engaged with his staff and the running of the property. Signage for where to park and check in was the only thing that could be better. But really enjoyed my stay! Great job, Urban team! :)

It is a cute little room for one or two people to stay with a short walking distance to short north. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, when I checked in the elevator was down and the offered to help carry my bags. The next day I decided to extend my stay and Misha was very nice and helpful with getting that handled.

Can to town for the state track championship and found a room at The Urban. It was within walking distance of everything I needed. I was also able to show my daughter a what living on campus can be like. I have live in dorms when I was in college and this is a lot nicer than what I had. I would definitely stay here again.

Location, location, location! We loved that we were walking distance for the skull session at St John's, the game at the stadium and the fun tailgating was just a couple blocks away (glad there was a nice building in front of The Urban to act as a sound barrier too!) It was easy to get an uber out front when we had an off campus activity. The balconies were refreshing and the rooftop terrace were the perfect spot for the fireworks! Friendly and helpful staff, clean room were definitely efficiency size but we had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. We will come again!

Solo apartment I have really enjoyed my time here, the building is clean and neat, and the rooms are really comfy. The staff is helpful and goes out of their way to better the experiance. Recently I've been trying to get some last minute arrangements sorted out and Ella from the front desk has been super helpful.

I recently moved out of the urban and after reading some reviews I thought it would be best if I left mine. When I first moved in, I thought that upon leaving I was going to leave a horrendous review, but quite frankly this place really isn't as bad as people make it. I met a lot of friends here and also could easily walk to all of my classes and the gym. I was close to the freeway so if I needed to get to work or anywhere it really wouldn't be a problem. The rooftop and hot tub were lots of fun, and I honestly miss hanging out in the common room. The only things I didn't like were the room sizes, the Murphy bed, and the walls being thin/ construction going on in the early morning, but what can the apartment owners do about construction, you know? While the rooms may have been small, you could always just go hangout on literally any of the spaces provided on the floors, such as the common room, if you needed some space. All in all, I would recommend any college student to live here, but I do think the rooms, while nicely furnished, could be a little bigger, but they still serve their purpose and are nice rooms. Thank you to the urban for an awesome year.

My wife and I stayed here for the Motley Crue/Def Leppard concert in Columbus. The rooms were a bit small, but the place was fantastic! Great fitness center and outdoor areas. Misha and Jared were both great at the front.

Misha was by far a saving grace! Super understanding and super helpful! Couldn’t ask for better help after our booking site booked us for the wrong date. Made our check in smooth and easy, even with all the issues and misunderstandings. Couldn’t have better help!

The Urban is an amazing hotel! I stayed there for Parent's weekend at OSU. Misha and her staff are super accommodating and very personable. The room was clean and had everything I needed for the weekend. There were so many extras that made my stay wonderful. I loved the area and proximity to restaurants, OSU and the trails. I will definitely be staying at The Urban again! Thanks so much!

Clean room and all areas. Location is great for OSU. Parking included too and secure. Misha is the best! Appreciate everything she did to make my visit pleasant and will definitely be back!

Stayed here because I had a wedding to go to in town. Everything was clean and peaceful, and the attached parking was super easy and a huge plus compared to other places on campus. Also, Misha at the front desk is so kind and personable, and even helped me find my wallet after I checked out! I would definitely stay here again :)

An absolutely fantastic hotel. Safe, clean, great location, onsite secure parking, easy check-in/check-out. The beds are super comfortable. I will 100% stay here again and will recommend The Urban to others. 👍

I stayed there this weekend for the Ohio State game. I had an amazing stay and the staff was awesome. Specifically, Misha from the front desk had exceptional service and an awesome attitude. Staff like this makes me want to come back again! We will be doing so soon.

My husband and I chose to stay at The Urban while we were in Columbus for the Lauren Daigle concert at the Schottenstein Center. We were hesitant since we knew the rooms were small efficiency types with Murphy beds, but were pleasantly surprised! There are a ton of cabinets and drawers to utilize that makes up for the small space. We had no problems being comfortable with a long weekend of clothes packed, plus we shopped A LOT and had several bags of souvenirs. The room was spotless and incredibly clean. The check in and out process was easy and Misha at the front desk was extremely helpful. We loved that it was walking distance to the Horseshoe and Schottenstein Center. There are a ton of places to shop and eat within walking distance. If we ever find ourselves back in Columbus we will absolutely be staying at The Urban again!

As far as I'm concerned this is the only way to do a Buckeye game. We stayed here for a noon game. Check-in isn't until 3 but we were allowed to check our car in and not have to deal with parking for the game which was exceptional considering how businesses typically try to nickel and dime you for anything. The rooms are small as advertised. The water pressure for the shower left a little to be desired, and I think our bed actually folded into the wall and potentially became a couch? We didn't realize this until the morning, but it would have been cool and made the room bigger for having friends stop by. The small pool and hammock area is a great touch. There are literally full kitchens available, and a workout space that is superior to your typical hotel. It's a great business, and the best OSU experience I've had.

Spent a three nights here. Location, location, location. A block off campus and a couple block walk to Ohio stadium. Secured parking. The rooms are very small with a comfortable Murphy bed, and kitchenette. My only complaint is they only offer tv through streaming services. It would be great if they offered basic cable for the hotel rooms. There is a nice common area, outside deck, and full kitchen. Will come back but will make sure I write down all my streaming account passwords before I leave home.

Bare minimum establishment. Had a billing issue that the manager refused to discuss with me. Would never stay here again and recommend avoiding this property. The rooms are incredibly small so unless you have interest in trying to live a room smaller than a dorm, I would look elsewhere. Bathroom lacked any sink. Television lacked standard channels. Coffee maker was broken. Service barely existent. In summary, quaint and clean but avoidable.

An amazing place to stay at! Went on a weekend trip with a friend and this was such a steal. The Urban rents apartments and hotel rooms, and it also provides spaces like study rooms, shared kitchens, and an amazing rooftop deck. We mainly used a car to get around the downtown area, but the location is very walkable. We were told that we were one of the first to stay at their hotel being that they just finished construction along with COVID, and with that, everything was a great experience overall. The pool that's advertised is actually much smaller than I expected, and the elevator was down which was unfortunate for my friend who was wearing a knee brace at the time. However, the service was super-friendly and the owner was more than willing to help us whenever we needed something. I would definitely recommend this chic and modern place to those who are looking for an amazing getaway experience and have an open mind!

New place definitely a plus, the room I was in was great. I liked the colors and the decor. Has its own parking garage. The staff was friendly. I would recommend The Urban to anyone!

Stayed for a night after a concert at the Shott. I chose the place because of its proximity and the price was competitive. The staff was very courteous and the checkin was fast. The room key worked with no problems. The room was cramped and smaller than your typical hotel room. It had an off odor where you had to keep the fan blowing to minimize the smell. The space was remodeled nicely and very clean. The queen bed was a foldout and a little lumpy. The fridge was a nice size and the place had a ton of storage if you needed to live there. For a hotel room it's a waste of space that is already cramped. First hotel I ever stayed in were I was not able to get the TV to work. At home I have Roku and many of the streaming services. So when I saw it in the room I was like okay, first time I seen streaming TV in a hotel. Unfortunately no Hulu service, no Netflix service, so I tried just Roku TV and it would play but no sound and the video was blank. I know it was playing because the closed captioning on the bottom of the screen was working as the movie was progressing. I even tried to mirror my Hulu service on my phone through Roku. Could not even get that to work. What a bust! So I just watched Hulu on my smart phone. Place was fairly quiet but after a rough night of sleep, time for the shower. Bathroom amenities we're good and convenient but the shower pressure was low. The linens we're good and decent. Check out was quick and the free parking garage key controls were only on one side to enter or exit. Unfortunately inconvenient on the opposite side of the direction they told me to find the garage. I have stayed in many places, some worse, but it was convenient and clean for what I needed it for.

Staff was super friendly and helpful! Room and shared spaces were exceptionally clean! Housekeeping does not attend room daily; however, when I requested additional towels, they arrived quickly at my door! The room was small as compared to rooms I’ve stayed in elsewhere, but it is plenty sufficient for 2. Room had microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and hair dryer. A/C worked great—room was cool and comfy. The bed was not top of the line, but comfortable and linen was fresh. There was a little hall noise when a group passed by, but I did not hear any noise from adjacent rooms. I did not use any shared space, but they looked inviting. The shared kitchen and dining area looked perfectly clean, and the shared balcony had comfy looking chairs. Parking for guests was convenient—it is connected to the building and the elevator will take you from garage to room floor. I will definitely consider staying at The Urban in the future! *Just a note: this is primarily student housing. I visited the week prior to student move-in.

Clean, well appointed micro hotel with free garage parking. We came to town for pride and this hotel was one of the few that didn’t have increased rates. The hot tub was spacious but could use a cleaning. The free jenis ice cream and free coffee choices in lobby were delicious. Micro rooms were well appointed for a quick getaway with smart TVs, Murphy bed and Kitchenette. There were multiple common shared full kitchens, an open air gym, game tables and yard games available for use as well. Overall I recommend this for any single person or couple looking for a getaway to the city.

Surprised how pleasant our stay was. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful for a college housing. I recommend it if you just want a place to sleep, the room is very small but has all the necessities, and even some extras like soap and shampoo. Definitely my to go hotel now in the Columbus area.

Small rooms but they are packed with storage and amenities many hotels have removed - like an espresso machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. Even have access to a kitchen if desired. Great for overnight trips or longer stays. Great value for the location. Cozy bed and even had many pillow options. I'd stay again.

Small but well organized, clean room. Perfect place to stay if you are attending OSU game. Parking garage (free) a real plus. We would definitely recommend and will stay there again. A bit of a hidden gem.

Misha at the front desk was tremendously helpful. We value the location. The room is small, and the TV required someone to use their own cable account to access channels such as ABC, which we wanted to watch the Ohio State game.

Comfy room - very soft sheets - for it being in a collage dorm it was surprisingly quiet - shower had great pressure - we stayed here because it is within walking distance to Schottenstein (sp) for a concert. I think we could have stayed at a hotel where the rooms were larger for what we paid but this worked out good! Just be prepared it’s a dorm so it’s small

This place was really cute. They packed so much in such a tiny space. The room was very clean. The bathroom was spotless…even the grout around the shower drain was clean. Everyone was nice. It’s a mix of college students and visitors/tourists. I would stay here again if I was in the area. There was a coffee maker, fridge, microwave, flat screen and the bed folds into a couch. There are so many hidden cabinets for storage if you have a long stay. There are tons of eateries in walking distance. I walked to my venue so it is ideally located.

Very clean with a cool layout. Never stayed in a place like this before. Staff was very helpful and friendly even though I arrived super late. Quiet and cold, just like I like it.

Loved this hotel. FYI - it is tiny, but functional. Perfect for 1 or 2 people. VERY CLEAN. Quiet. Inexpensive. Parking in a locked parking garage! Walking distance to stadium. Staff was VERY friendly. Bed that turns into a couch. Lots of storage space. Free coffee in your room, but there is a latte machine in the lobby. Yum! Nice size refrigerator & microwave. Common area with full kitchen, tables, tv and a balcony to sit out on. Walking distance to restaurants. Will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Urban!! Loved the location..the staff was great...we will definitely stay here again. The room was clean, on the small side...but perfect for the two of us!! The extra spaces, the full kitchen, the hot tub and outside area, and the rooftop space were all very nice..we didn't have time to partake in them...the place was very unique and comfortable!!

My husband and I stayed in the Urban for Parents weekend. It was THE perfect location! We never had to drive - easy walk to campus and stadium. Rooms are small but clean and well kept. My daughter lives here so it was wonderful to be in the same building with her for the weekend!

We recently stayed at the Urban to attend a football game. The rooms were a little small, however, we didn’t really spend much time in the room. Everything was very clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and there was a large common area on the floor where family and friends could hang out. The location is perfect, easily within walking distance to the campus and the stadium. We will definitely book a room at this hotel again!

I stayed at The Urban this past weekend for the OSU-Minnesota football game. I was meeting family for the game. Great location, rooms are small (and as described) but use the space efficiently, common areas were great, people were friendly and helpful, had all the key amenities, and an overall pleasant experience. Like previous comments mention, where to park for check in and signage to the parking garage were tricky (but there is also a log of construction in the area so the road was narrow) so that could be improved. I really only used my car for ride to/from airport and to dinner one night - otherwise was able to walk everywhere else. I would definitely stay again!

  • 2/5 Ellen R. 6 months ago on Google • 1 review
First the good—walking distance to the football stadium, room was very clean, staff pleasant. However, room hardly bigger than a large closet, WAY overpriced for what we got. Total price gouge for football weekend. We have no need to ever stay here again, will stay further away next time and Uber there and back.

i have stayed at the urban hotel a handful of times and every time it was amazing! the location is very convenient and walkable to many restaurants and parking is very easy. the rooms are always very clean and well stocked and they have an amazing air conditioning unit in every room! my partner and i tend to check in late and ethan is always the one to help us and he is always so quick and friendly! he always goes above and beyond at his job and makes sure we feel comfortable and we really appreciate his presence and personality at the urban, definitely the reason we keep coming back! :)
