Very clean and hygiene atmosphere, service was very good, not much delay for Servicing, tast was really awesome especially vala elai parotta ( banana leaf chicken curry parotta) village taste, spicy and soft. Personally I liked it very very much. Go and visit this restaurant

Total worst eating experience here, Biryani here has not that much taste and it costs 175. Which is a worst rate and they didn't give raita for it. And I ordered parotta they forgot it. And they have a chicken dish called chicken Monika which has quantity less than 100 GM and costs around 195 rupees. My heart was broken here.

Price is over rated. The taste and quality of food provided is not satisfactory for the price charged. Trust me guys, i’m really disappointed today and writing this review immediately after finishing lunch here. I’ve ordered a plain biriyani and chicken fry. Price : Plain biriyani - Rs.120 Chicken fry - Rs.195 I’ve eaten almost in all hotels of coimbatore. Even in road side hotels,plain biriyani provided for Rs.50 is more tastier than the biriyani provided here😓… Chicken fry has only 6 or 7 medium pieces for which they charged Rs.195. I could have even taken a fresh flesh and cooked instead of eating here🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Plzzzz guys don’t go and get disappointed🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️… I should have taken pics but failed to do so

Went here for breakfast. Service is not so great. There were only less people but we had to waited for a long time. Foot was also not so satisfying. But the price is reasonable. Neatly maintained. Only less options are available. Customer relation is not so good. The songs played here were so sad. Did not give a good vibe

Best Chettinadu restaurants in coimbatore located near hopes. Hotel is neat and clean and they are charging reasonable prices which comes within budget. Parotta varieties like Vazha Elai Chicken Parotta(Banana leaf chicken curry parotta), Veechu Parotta, Bun parotta, Chicken rice, mutton chukka, idly with curry gravy, non veg meals, chicken Chettinadu gravy are very famous here. Chettinadu food lovers Must try here. Parking is very limited. For car parking it's some what difficult. Suggested for two wheelers.

Very expensive for the food they provide! Name only mess but they charge like 5 star hotel. Mutton chukka just 5 pieces costs 275/- (we can buy half kg and cook by ourselves). Chicken lollipop half cooked. Everything expensive and I think they add ajinomoto for taste.

I recently visited Velan Chettinadu Mess and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The visit took place on August 15, 2023. I found the food quantity to be inadequate, and the customer service was lacking as well. The inconsistency in both aspects detracted from the overall dining experience. It's unfortunate that such issues affected what could have been a more enjoyable meal. I hope the management takes this feedback into consideration to improve the quality and service for future patrons.

The cost is not even worthy for their quantity of food . I ordered Banana Leaf Chicken Parota and I got only 2 Chicken peices in it.They charged RS.155 for it. Try other Hotels inspite of Trying here.

2 weeks back I had dinner... I used to had earlier... Now the quality is not good at all... There was a smell in crab soup and they used old oil to fry chilly fish... We kept without eating... Now a days crowd also not there much... I complained but they didn't care....

It's nice to say that varieties they are serving very delicious and tasty. Particularly Vaalai Elai Parota are impressive one. It needs to more improve like KOTHU PAROTA style and added flavour of whatever customers wanted viz. Mutton, Chicken, Era, Botti etc. It's ok for family sitting and eating. Thank you

Very worst hotel in hopes.they charged 98 rupees for ghee podi dosa but no leaf for packing packing in plastic paper owner wrost behaviour no to try..

Got Chinese via Zomato & expection was high. Egg fried rice (3Nos) zero salt. Chilly Chicken (1no) & Chicken Manchurian probably not so fresh but too sweet. The Chef for Chinese needs a lot of coaching, I guess. Not worth 1100 bucks for 3.

Worst Hotel ever in Hopes, not at all obeying the customer, not even the waiter will looking the customer. We were there being for 30min, calling the waiter for more than 10times they not even cared. We have complained with hotel management the casher is so arrogant to hear the customer feedback.

Chicken flesh was not fresh(maybe 2 days old) and it was half cooked. I've been here two times and had the same issue both time. And such a famous restaurant had only one server at a sunday peak time, which made me wait for too long even to get water. Don't try briyani here, you have more better restaurants around with food at acceptable price, I had medical issues after having the old and half cooked flesh here.

The food tasted good but the cleanliness of the shop must be maintained. No proper hand wash in the washroom. Toilet wasn't clean. Waiter's service was good.

Best place for non veg lovers around this area. Very neat and clean restaurant. Staffs were friendly and polite towards customers but should improve the serving speed because we waited nearly 15 mins for our order to get delivered to our table. Except that everything good here. Been here before 10 years, it was brand new and considered as competitor to "SPKR Or something". Meals here is fantastic and they used to serve in very big banana leaves. I have very good memories here. I would recommend it for clean meals.

I personally like vazha elai parotta. I customise it with chappathi instead of parotta. Taste wise it's good. Even other dishes are better. Worth the money you spend here.

Just avoid. They said turkey and vaazhai ilai parotta are thier specialities. I ordered them and they are really. You won't have that even if you are dying on hunger. Actually I never had such a bland food. This is my worst dining experience.

Everything is too much spicy here.dont expect too much from here. If you need chettinad type food please go for valarmathi mess and for parotta go for madurai bun parotta shop near ganapathy. The husband and wife in the billing counter give over buildup for the hotel.

Taste was not as olden days. And felt too costly .. one chicken biriyani was 170rs and quantity was very less. Taste was average.

Superb food. All dishes I tried, ranging from kothu porota to Monika chicken were very flavourful and tasty. The place is clean but very simple, no frills ambience. Not a family joint. But the food is marvelous.

Don't go there if you have no patience to wait for 20 mins just to attend you.. I have entered the hotel around 3 pm and it was less crowded with many tables vacant.. THE WORST THING is that none of the bearer or server have turned to my table till 3.50 pm and never even give a nod to acknowledge my table.. They have been just passing through my table and noticed that i am sitting there and never turned back for order.. I stood up and walked out of the hotel around 4 pm after giving a strong comment over the shop keeper on the collection table. They are not feeling guilty over my shout and none of them answered .. Do not visit or encourage such a pathetically managed hotel with poorest quality bearers and managers.. Better not to go..

Cheap and best hotel.

Below average is the justified review. The food was below average for most of their dishes. The briyani was okish but all the other side dishes were bad. Their Vegetable and chicken had a bit of tangy taste to them which tasted bad for myself. Their elai parota is way overpriced with the mutton elai parota having just 2-3 pieces of mutton for a dish costing around ₹320 adding to this it tasted equally bad as other dishes. Their service was the worst. It wasn't even fully occupied when we visited the restaurant and yet we waited for around 15 minutes just for the banana leaf to be laid. And it took them another 10mins for taking order and another 10mins to serve the Briyani. I reckon how the service will be when the restaurant is full. There are many good restaurants/mess in and around peelamedu which has both tasty food and quicker service than this one. Overall it was one of the worst restaurants that I have visited in a while.

Velan mess is one of the best non veg mess in this area. The taste of food is super good and the variety is also good. We ate crab and chicken kothu parotta, crispy parotta, crab lollipop, pepper prawns and kalakki, Theirs dosas are crispy. The gravy that comes along with it also tastes yummy. It's a must try for a casual late night dinner with good food. The ambience is not hi fi but the taste is worth it. The people are friendly and nice as well.
