1st off I should have requested a refund and never wasted our time unpacking the car when we pulled up to a massive mound of trash. (hints to why there were roaches in our room). The guy at the front desk was very nice. We went in the room and it was covered in some type of flying bugs, and roaches. Needless to say we put all our luggage back in the car and checked out. The guy at the front desk apologized and told us to call back in on Monday for a refund. Called Monday and the owner? said no refunds, that they could have sprayed for bugs. Yeah like we would want to stay in a room of bug spray and dead bugs. No thank you. Awful experience, not to mention we didn't feel safe. Shame on the owner for not doing right by not refunding my money! I will be making a few phone calls.

One of the owners (Glenn), is one of the sweetest people. If you need anything or if there is a problem you can call him anytime. The beds were comfortable and room was overall decent for the price. Rates were very affordable for an oceanfront hotel. Only downside was just parking. Parking is limited on site at the hotel itself, however; additional parking is not very far at all down 3rd Ave N. If you are looking for an oceanfront hotel with affordable rates and is close to Myrtle Beach attractions and food? Then give Sea Gypsy Inn a try!

The place is a dump. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. The building should be torn down. There's no stove in it where the stove was. There's a fan that was falling down. The microwave look like somebody threw up in it. The room was dirty. Parking sucked. We had to walk across the street to park our car because the parking lot in the hotel was full. I would never go back there again and I would highly recommend informing the health department to investigate it. It wasn't worth the price that we paid for even though we got a deal on it. It was probably worth 50 bucks a night. Our vacation wasn't good. The whole building looks like it needs to be condemned. It's not like what you advertise in your brochure. I'm surprised people don't get sick in this hotel I'm going to let the health department know about it again. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody, not even to my grandmother

The owners are very helpful, and very nice. The parking is limited. The rooms are on the beach. However the place is old. The rooms are cheap, so they have that going for them. The room was clean but definitely outdated as far as decor. The bed was firm but the mattress cover made a crinkling noise since I think it was made out of plastic. The smoke detector was making a beeping noise I think the battery was dead. The thing that worried me the most was that the hotel is in a bad neighborhood.

New management 24/7 Security. Ocean front, Clean pool , Staff is AMAZING !! 💯 Will stay again. Family environment OVERALL EXPERIENCE GREAT. WE APPRECIATE YOU GUYS SO MUCH.

Great location right next to the ocean on the boardwalk. It's not the Hilton but you definitely get what you pay for and the rooms are a lot bigger than expected. Our room has a kitchenette and a good size bedroom area very nice staff and clean pool. It's a great value.

For the location it’s great it’s off the boardwalk with ocean view. The staff was super nice very helpful! The only reason it’s 2 star review instead of a 1 star was the staff and the view. The Issues with this hotel however were A. Roaches we seen 3 in the room and a lot outside the room. We only stayed one night and they have a big pile of trash outside. B. The parking is not good at all they have like 5 parking spots the rest of the parking is across the street and if that’s full it’s another block over so that’s a downfall for sure. The bedding a burn holes in it and the walls/furniture had holes in them. The sliding glass door was jacked up took two people to get it open and it wouldn’t open all the way. We had a double room and had 1 chair on the balcony. The place is definitely outdated and the shower felt like it was gonna fall through but I honestly think it was the tub liner. The pool was kinda nasty looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in a bit. Lots of hair floating around water looked dirty. I mean I guess you get what you pay for but definitely read the reviews before you book your stay.

Room was nasty hade multiple roaches inside the room and walls .Holes in the walls as big as my foot. Reminded me of a crack head hotel . This definitely ruined my trip and I will never be back . This hotel should be shut down 👇

Worthless, dirty, Bed Bugs 🐛 in the damn rooms , good location no good staffing no cleaning ladies not 1 anywhere in either building all weekend, didn't even give toilet paper 😀 lucky we had napkins in the truck and clorox wipes DO NOT RECOMMEND GOINF HERE

RUN AWAY! This is literally a slum where bums live and where you come to get murdered in a scary movie. The room was filthy and looks nothing like the photos. Everything was broken and disgusting. Hair in the bathroom, bugs on the floor, broken railing on the balcony, carpet peeling up, dirty air conditioner filter just sitting on the counter, brown shower that’s supposed to be white, cigarette burns in the sheets - need I go on? The person running the place offered to refund us for both nights and lied, only refunding one night and probably pocketing the rest of the money. No decent person should ever stay at the sea gypsy and we were swindled. Do not stay here.

The rooms were nasty and the people running the place they make stories up and don't even know that they contradicted there self. And the hotel is bug invested if we don't get a refund of our money we'll be passing out flyers for bike week. I'll make sure they loose more money than ever. And I'll call the health department as well too.

The location is really good so I don't understand why they can't keep it clean and tidy even if it's so outdated. The room was not clean at all. We had puke on bathroom toilet and sink was leaking. We had to go ask cleaning lady for cleaning supplies to get it cleaned since all she was doing was chilling outside watching her kids. The place just needs to be cleaned throughout properly if they have no money to update things. There were underwear in room behind curtain that that did not belong to us! Along with tooth brush wrapper. There was hair pins and pennies on bathroom floor. Oh undies in the corner did it for me😱

This Inn is in the middle of boarded up closed establishments. They are posted with signs, "closed due to nefarious activity" we booked a balcony room ocean side, I was given a corner room next to the office. Parking is located a block and a half away. Beyond disappointed! 200.00 to stay in a place that looks like it gets rented out by the hour. I learned my lesson I will remember to look at reviews!

For all the negative comments u get what u pay for.. IF u at the beaxh and don't wanna pay over a 100 for a room u gunna get a nasty room these hotels r for junkies and the locals that cant find a plsce for summer bc j1 students want to come and take over the jobs and the rentals... The room is nasty and hot. Bed is hard as a rock. Horrible smell walking up the stairs like something might be dead and rotting. This place is definitely Horrible. Toilet tank doesn't even fill up with water. This place needs to be torn down immediately.

Definitely would not go here again, Bed as hard as a rock, No working water in the kitchenette. Shower handle broke. Felt super unsafe, Never would go here Again. Me and my family were so paranoid, heard knocking underneath the nightstand, I was in pain by the time we checked out. Reports of bed bugs luckily we had none, cigar burns in the sheets, stained sheets... the water would not get hot. This place is disgusting. I'm so unsatisfied.

Needless to say the Photos online were far from what we got. There was a moldy smell in the room, light fixtures were missing covers, outlets were missing covers, sink and shower faucets leaked, the blind was broke, bedding had holes all in it, and had to ask for towels and toiletries. Also it appeared that they had quite a few permanent residents to go along with many incomplete construction repairs.

It's not an upscale fancy hotel that's going to cost you an arm or leg. But it's close to the board walk, ocean front, rooms are clean, staff are friendly, pool is clean, and rates are fair. A 5 day stay will run around $475-$ 550 ...

The room was very nasty had a mildew smell and holes threw the room. Had mold throughout the whole room. Bathtub falling threw felt like it was giving away when you stand in it to take a shower. Sink no pressure for water and broke sink. No where park on lot had to walk 2 blocks to park. Highly would recommend for people to not stay there it needs to be shutdown
