This place was terrible roach infected the door to the suite was falling apart they didn't offer another room. They tried to make us comfortable. They come to spray for the roaches with me their the electric plug didn't work. So when they tried to fix the door they need a electrical socket so I said it didn't work. So they had to find one that work in the room to fix the door. I keep my belongings in a plastic bag cause I didn't want to take bugs back home. So when you look at the website. The pictures are a lie.

If I could rate zero I would- So I initially booked at another hotel however it was canceled due to an “overflow” never the less- they said they had rooms available. First 🚩they use actual keys in stead of cards to open the room doors. Second 🚩🚩parking is truly a hazard! Your life is in jeopardy!!!! Third 🚩🚩🚩as we proceeded to our room, the front desk calls me to report “it’s not clean come back!” (Mind you it’s around 2100 & this room has been sitting dirty ALL DAY!) - And not to mention the lobby full of unsatisfied customers - one of who c/o opening the room door and it was individuals sleeping in the beds! - We waited all day for maintenance to come fix the toilet, the refrigerator didn’t get fully cold. Bed bugs - this was the WORST, DISGUSTING PLACE I EVER STAYED AT IN LIFE - not to mention the fact that the ghetto red hair unprofessional man determined to be a woman at the front desk- who obviously is unhappy that he never achieved a college degree and barley a high school diploma - very unhappy with his job as if they asked him to work! He had no empathy nor Sympathy! I pray that this hotel will close down for good any others that are like minded like them. The services and treatment that my family received was unacceptable and I will not stop until all of our family lawyers are involved! They had no utensils, no napkins, no pillows, no blanks, no room service , no house keeping! Truly truly TRULY POOR!!!! RUN SAVE YOUR MONEY! Do not keep this circus reck in business any longer!

Honestly, the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s close to the beach and the pool is not disgusting, which is nice. The rooms are filthy, never cleaned, extreme cockroach problem and a lot of mold. Hot water in the kitchenette didn’t work. You can’t check out and get your deposit until between 830 and 11, which is really inconvenient if you would like to leave before then and have animals with you. They’ll let you leave but they won’t give you your money back. If they put it on a card, this wouldn’t be an issue. This was not properly explained, but is written in the contract you sign at the beginning. We stayed last year and it wasn’t so bad. Not sure what happened, but we will never be staying in this dirty, sketchy, awful place ever again. Find somewhere else, it’s not worth the $34 a night.

Do not recommend staying here. Checked in Sunday and checked out Monday night. Horrible staff Took forever to check in.The hotel it’s self is just dirty. Cockroaches everywhere! The room it self wasn’t very clean. It smelled like cigarettes even though I got a non smoking room. The microwave was disgusting. The tv barley worked. None of the outlet worked except two. The pool looked gross.Very loud and hard to sleep. Felt very uncomfortable the whole time. Floors, walls and ceilings were gross. Booked a resort view and ended up receiving a view of the road on the other side of the resort. Parking garage was so small for the amount of people. Bathroom was gross. Cockroaches coming out from under the sink and toilet. Cockroaches under the bed and in the kitchen. Big cockroaches by the indoor pool. Bathroom ceiling the paint was peeling off. 0/10 would not recommend to anyone considering. I booked for 5 days and only stayed 1. Only good thing about the hotel was it was right on the beach.

I'm giving the Polynesian a fair 5 Star review. This review is based upon "realistic expectations". The service was great. The location was great. Some of the hotel guests at times weren't the best, but everyone vacations differently. My experience not to take from other reviewers, I didn't encounter bugs or pests.the appearance during my stay looked like they were doing renovations.these accommodations met my needs.

So I want to be honest. What is this? My family and I were there once for one night and it was just not it. Check in took so long and they messed up our reservation. The parking lot is very small for that amount of cars. But that’s not the worst part. As we went upstairs to the room some very strange people came and they said some weird stuff. An as soon as we opened the door a disgusting smell was all around the room. But at least the the freezer worked. The dishes were not clean and the kitchen was dirty. And in the bathroom were insects and animals I didn’t know they existed. But the beds were comfortable. The beach was pretty. At the pool it smelled like someone just got grilled. And like someone smoked cannabis. The water was dirty and no one followed the rules at the pool. At night it was loud and noisy. Wouldn’t recommend to go here better go somewhere else. It’s horrible!!!!

This was one of the worst hotel stays I have experienced. Our room was mediocre ( two beds and a nice ocean view) however there was still sand all over the floor and a stain on one of the covers of the bed. We did not have issues with bugs on the eighth floor but I was constantly hearing other guests on lower floors complain about it. One of the elevators was out of service for the majority of our trip, but the sign saying so was not on all floors. We could see one on the eighth floor but not on the third or the first. It took two days for us to get clean towels sent to our room. I hung the sign on the door saying we’d like our room to be cleaned and no one came. It was up every time we left the hotel for two days ( at one point I saw housekeeping three rooms away). I made a total of five phone calls and visited the front desk and still didn’t receive the towels for another four hours. The entire hotel also constantly reeked of weed, even in areas with no smoking rooms. Overall I would not recommend staying in this hotel unless you are absolutely desperate for a place to stay and can get a room above the fifth floor.

This was a decent hotel and great price we paid $250 I think for two nights with a $100 deposit . The room we had was clean and we had so many towels and rags it was great no bad smell at all !! The kids loved the pools it had a kiddie pool and two other pools and a hot tub and was on the beach . The hotel cleaners was friendly and nice and brought more towels and took our dirty ones and more toilet paper . Overall I liked it except the elevator took forever but we took stairs since we was on the second floor . Will go back my babies loved it and so did I !!!! Ohh the pools could be cleaned more often it had a blur to it but it was fixed asap

My stay was not good at all!! The only plus to the room was the balcony oceanfront view 🙃! Issues were that the first room they put me in was not cleaned! Had fresh towels but beds were not completely made, air condition unit cover was laying on the floor, and floor was not clean 😡! The second room was better until I went to microwave my food and someone else's food was still in there 🤢🤦🏾‍♀️!! Oh, I almost forgot the phone didn't even work!!

I rarely do reviews but the front desk on check-in was the worst experience ever! <0 rating -Rude, and unprofessional to say the least. I booked 2 rooms , two months in advance requesting close proximity together and lower floor. $100 cash deposit not required since they already charged the 1st nights rent to my card. Stopped by at 2:30 and immediately told check-in at 4pm. ALL adults in party MUST show ID’s. I did all paperwork and left to go eat. Came back at about 4:20pm to a line of 20+ people waiting out the door to check in. They turned “several” away due to rooms not being ready. Tried to turn me away but I was loud enough that the clerk knew I wasn’t going anywhere. She rudely turned to the key box and handed me two sets of keys to rooms which actually was what I had requested. Note -it was like this everyday at the office at 4pm and we were there 5 days, Friday - Wednesday . Because of that staff I will never stay there again. For the hotel 3.5, it is old but our rooms were decent. Didn’t notice any bugs or mold. The cleaning staff 3.5 were nice. Wasn’t expecting room cleaned but they did bring towels by, or provided if you asked them. Efficiency in both rooms with basic items were provided. Grandkids enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pools and ocean. 5 star for location. With all this said, if you don’t mind the check-in “NIGHTMARE “ the hotel is a budget, kid and dog friendly solid 2-3 star hotel.

It was a terrible place to stay. I got a room with two beds and a refrigerator and stove and sink which none of them work. My ocean front turned into a side view of the baby pool and yes it was loud people say you get what you pay for for four days as paid $579 just made me sick and yeah, switched around a whole lot, but nothing better

WARNING...WARNING....ALERT......ALERT Read Carefully Please before going to this Disgusting Motel. Room was full of bugs, insects and worst smell. I am adding pictures as well. If I rate 0 - Zero for Cleanliness that also high as per human standard. It should be -5 (Minus 5). At the welcome desk, You will find non-polite and rude people to welcome. Bathroom doesn't have ventilation and no exhaust fan in it. Just disgusting and awful. Rooms were connected but they were not locked and found those mysterious doors there. Nobody knows what could happen with your stuff inside room. Beds were smelling bad and the carpet was around 30-35 years old. Completely rusty and with smell. If you do not have footwears you can't even walk on that surface. If you still want to book this motel, Best of luck..... YOU WILL REGRET ALWAYS.

The motel itself is older. We knew that going into this vacation. We knew there might be roaches. I read the reviews. I checked for bed bugs and found no evidence of them. What we didn't expect was a vagrant hiding in the bushes by the beach access, that followed us and our kids back to our first floor room. I even looked him in the eye and spoke loudly before we ever reached the sidewalk. I let him know that we knew he was there. He didn't care. He tried to shake the door to our room open, and my husband yelled at him to leave. The man left, and we didn't see him again on our vacation. The property is in a great spot. The lady in the laundry room was fabulous. We are hillbillies from the Smoky Mountains. We were ok sleeping with the few roaches. We camp and there are all kinds of bugs. Be honest with yourself, and whether or not you're ok with that. If not, rent elsewhere. If you're a little hillbilly gangster, you'll be fine.

This place was NASTY! The only POSITIVE thing is the location was close to our plans. So where do I start. At check-in... Walked into the room and it was horrible. The table with the microwave and coffee pot were about to fall over. There is a wall that blocks the AC. The carpet was nasty and gross. The bed linens were stained. The bathroom was ooook other than the tub facet very loose and thought it was going to fall off. The so called balcony was horrible. If you touched anything you had Paint chips on everything. Including your feet or shoes so therefore it tracked right through your room. The wall underneath the window at the balcony was covered in mold. At night when you turn on the light roaches would scatter. Told the front desk and they called a Code 3 to our room. Someone was supposed to come. Not a single person showed up. Did absolutely no good to make them aware of the problem. They just get a nasty attitude and really hate it when you get one back. Never will we stay there again. Stay away from the Polynesian Ocean Front Hotel. 1001 South Ocean Blvd. Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

We got a great deal for an ocean view. The rooms have everything you will need. No the floors are not ver clean but what do you expect when they are wet most of the time. The only thing is that I don’t think the pools are treated with the proper chemicals. My hubby and I both left with beach rash a waterborne parasite. Other than that it’s a great location.

The exterior of the hotel is outdated, although the rooms are pretty decent. My room was clean which I was not expecting because I've heard so many bad reviews about this place. I took a chance on it because there was nothing else left for the weekend that I was going. Front desk service is very slow but other than that the room was clean the view was amazing and the price was great as well. I would say that they do need to update the exterior of the hotel though for the price that they're charging. Also I feel that any hotel should be required to have white sheets on the bed. That way you know it's clean. That's my only issue the multicolored top sheets seem very unsanitary. They also had a bit of a smell which is why I went to Walmart and brought my own bed sheets to sleep on.

Have stayed here before, and loved the hotel, this time it was a nightmare! It took forever to check in for the first time. An hour after we settled into the room, the front desk called that i needed to come back because they forgot to charge the pet fee and then said we couldnt stay there because my dog was an aggressive breed (boxer and English bulldog mix and also a pug). I literally sat on the phone as they Googled aggressive dog breeds and read the list to me only to realize none of them are aggressive. Reserved additional rooms for more family only to find out that we couldn't check in until 7pm because their systems were down for 6 hours so we had to put 4 more adults and 5 children into our room for the afternoon. Never again!

This place does not even warrant one star! Never mind the fact that the rooms are seriously outdated, they are poorly kept! Dirty and certainly not up to code! There were roaches in the room! Food crumbs as if nobody bothered to even clean it!! And the guest service was atrocious!!!! Very uncaring and dismissive! Not even an apology for the state of the room and acted as if we were inconveniencing them when it was us who drove 11 hours and simply wanted to rest and enjoy our vacation. This place needs to be shut down! Do Not come here!!!!

Terrible . Just completely terrible. I had to switch rooms 3 times. Roaches.. the sliding door wouldn’t close to it was freezing. Dirty towels and mold. They don’t use heat in the building because they are cheap scumlords so it was completely freezing. Pieces of wall missing too.. honestly everyone should report this place to Human Resources and get it shut down because it’s terrible in there the nasty african lady up front are also rude and have fake accents. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Service and location was great!!!! The staff were very friendly and its roght one the beach! However.... tv had bad service, room smelled musty, German roaches, broken ice maker, leaky tub, door sticks, bathroom doesn't lock and its extremely outdated. We stayed ONE night and couldn't do it again.

  • 1/5 Carmen L. 9 months ago on Google
Horrible you get what you pay for which this is not it. Rooms were good for sleep that's it as long as it's only one day. Tv had one channel. There was so much black mold in the bathroom and the ceiling looked like it would cave any minute. It was good I was only staying 1 night I wouldn't have been able to handle multiple nights. This hotel needs an allover upgrade from the staff to the rooms. (Pictures everything that was wrong)

Sitting in the parking lot. Not even had a chance to get into our room an hour after check-in.. So we go to the beach. They ask you not to even try to get in before 4..So my daughter heads in about 4:15 and there were about 20 people in front of her..At 5:20, she lets me know that there are still 3 people in front of her.. This is just not acceptable. Will not be coming back here..And yes, $100 cash deposit only...

I had order a room with a kitchen, but order through work (3rd party). Did not get what a want. Good thing too because the rooms with the kitchen had coaches. They did tried to clean, and had to air out the room as we could stand in it due to the chemicals.

Our experience has been great. The room was clean. The beds are comfortable. The pools are nice and clean. The location is great. There's plenty of parking. The view of the ocean from the balcony is beautiful. The air conditioning is very cold. A nice hotel to stay in that is reasonably priced. Our room had lots of TV channels, we never saw any bugs, there was housekeeping everyday. They would knock on door between 10:30am to 11:00am asking if we needed towels or our floor swept. The lady was really nice and even ask if there was anything we needed. The maintenance man was really nice. He was out cleaning pool area and cleaning the pools early every morning. He would sweep up all the trash people left on ground around lounging area too. This hotel had people cleaning different places around it early every morning. The staff was really nice to us and we didn't have a problem paying the $100.00 deposit at check in because their website clearly states there's a $100.00 cash deposit required at check in. We didn't have any issues with the hotel, our room, or personnel who worked there. We enjoyed our stay, our vacation, and we had a great time.

terrible, only word to describe it. $100 CASH deposit, roaches outside, inside. Rooms are disgusting can definitely tell drugs were done on dressers. it’s absolutely insane you have to pay resort fee when there’s no breakfast, the coffee is a dollar a pack, honestly worst then most motels iv been to. never a parking spot because they don’t tow, so at least it’s free parking if your trying to go to beach, but i will never be coming back here. and i recommend you don’t come here at all. worst hotel in myrtle.

  • 2/5 Amy H. 8 months ago on Google
Easy check in however, if you use a 3rd party app like Expedia to book you are required to leave a $100 cash that is returned upon check out which I found very odd. Rooms are old and didn't smell great, mold on the bathroom ceiling tile. Had a kitchenette which was nice but there were no pans for using the stove top or oven. I was able to get one from the front desk. It served its purpose but I will not stay there again. Bed sagged horribly.

Do you want a great room that keeps you in touch with nature with a fantastic view? Then come here! Where the buds are literally crawling on your bed, and you have a balcony overlooking the beautiful concrete wall of their parking garage! Roaches literally coming out of the nightstands to keep you company, the sound of drug dealings outside in the alley your rooms overlook! No place makes you feel more in touch with Myrtle Beach than the Polynesian Hotel!

It was a good place to be able to rest in between activities or at the end of the day, but me and my husband would not recommend if you plan on staying at the hotel for majority of your stay. The room was dirty (sand all over the floor when we walked in for the first time), there were a few bugs, paint was peeling all over the place, the balcony door was stuck (my husband is pretty strong and even he could barely get it open), and the bedding had stains all over. Although the maintenance of the room was not up to par, I will say the view and being directly on the beach was a major plus! The placement of the hotel is great but maintenance within the hotel, not so much.

My previous stays at this property where more pleasant than my most recent. The beds now are like 2 box springs stacked on top of each other. There were roaches in the room. I was charged $198 for 8 nights for my chihuahua registered support pet. The bathroom door looked like it had been in a flood. Had to keep adjusting the coaxial cable to the TV to get a decent picture. The cleaning staff would knock on the door and when you answered the door they were half way down the corridor. They were in the process of painting the property guess they spent all the money on that project and forgot to save some for the exterminator that's supposed to spray every 30 days. We used to enjoy staying at this property because it was economical and located near alot of restaurants, grocery stores and not far from the grand strand. So beware call ahead and get info about all charges before you have a security guard knock on your door at 11 pm 3 days after you check in and say (can you follow me to the office there seems to be a problem we need to address) even though every thing was planned and taken care of 2 months in advance.

I booked a room with an ocean view and when I got the “keys” (they use actual metal keys) to walk downstairs to the cement room with a window facing a brick wall… walked up to go get to the car and the dumpster was right there…. The staff was excellent and friendly… but the hotel was nothing like the photos. Would not recommend staying there and they charged us for the five minutes I was there 128$…. Days Inn saved us.

  • 3/5 Heather V. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms were clean however seen a couple of roaches. We were there for a week and it took house keeping 5 days before we got fresh towels luckily we brought our own. As for location we had an ocean view which was nice. All in all it wasn't too bad of an experience

Our trip was awesome … we loved the pools and used all three .. parking garage was dangerous, gladly we got to park outside. I was told oceanfront view but I got street view. Despite the reviews that traumatized me (LOL) we enjoyed our stay beds slept well ! NO bugs in room but did see one by elevator on first floor. We were all the way to the top so we hated the fact the elevator was broke down for a whole day !! Room was 2 bedrooms & great with kitchenette (bring pans and coffee filter). I read somewhere that the smell of weed was overwhelming, I only smelled it when we first got there and a guy was smoking by the indoor hot tub 🤨 but other than that it was great. We came down Mother’s Day weekend… my kiddos enjoyed their selves. I would stay again already planning out next trip..

We stay here regularly due to being dog owners. It’s not the Hilton, but have never seen a bed bug or cockroaches. We normally book the non ocean front rooms due to better quality. We had a lock issue and maintenance man Esau, came and fixed it promptly. Rebecca helped us fix a reservation problem. Office staff was very kind and friendly. It’s a great place to stay inexpensively .
