Pros: 1. Heritage building with character. 2. The ambience and the outdoor seating is great, especially in the evening. 3. The cafe is tranquil and offers a good place to read a book or have a quiet chat. 4. Rooms are clean. 5. The mattress is firm and supportive, none of that caved-in, concave nonsense often found in hotels. Cons: 1. Most of the staff are atrociously bad. They have very little or no training in hospitality and certainly do not know how to interact with guests in a manner fitting for a hotel claiming to be a 2-star property. 2. Had a late check-in at 11:30PM and the reception was closed, and there was nobody assigned to handle the check-in. I've seen better systems in place even at cheap lodges, so this is disappointing for a hotel of this size. 3. Security guard claimed that it is illegal for residents of the city to stay at hotels in the city! Also, I had to wait at the gate until they raised the manager on the phone to finally assign me the room I had booked. 4. Rooms have huge ventilator windows that are open to the outside, and so are extremely noisy, with traffic noise of trucks and buses from the main road disrupting your sleep throughout the night. 5. The room decor leaves much to be desired, with mosaic flooring that looks cheap and a salt-stained steel bucket and mug in the bathroom reminiscent of Indian Railways' train lavatories. 6. No room service, couldn't even get a bottle of drinking water in the room, and nor was one already provided in the room. 7. Food is edible but otherwise lacklustre. Summary: A beautiful property with great potential, but very poorly managed.

Staff are very irresponsible. I Had booked deluxe room, but the staff tried to cheat us by giving us small room in other building. We book rooms seeings the pics and location, but the staff said that those were not the pics of deluxe room. But so much of argument finally they gave us room inside green palace. But which was again not up to the mark. The charges was really very expensive for 2 days and no service provided, no basic amenities, toileries provided by them until we demanded. Overall it was Pathetic experience. The staff also demanded for more money post leaving the hotel saying that they haven't added coffee bill. That shows how much irresponsible people they are. But the truth is we already had paid around 800/- for the same for two days.

We stayed here for a night on 7th May 2022. They only had non AC rooms @ Rs. 4000 per night. As you can see from the pics the rooms are poorly done up like a cheap lodge. We were charged for an extra bed but after waiting for over 1.5 hours we got a mattress on the floor beside the toilet. Pathetic staff who will just tell you that we are coming and will never turn up. The lady at the front desk will be very sweet till the time you swipe the card once done you are done. They charge 3 star rates but provide worse than bachelor lodging services. We had no choice as we walked in for the room in heavy rain but will never recommend this place. P.S. I wanted to review them long back but couldn't find time. I had time only to post positive reviews for those deserving, negative had to wait for a year.

I don't even want to give this one star, but there isn't another option, I checked in today and from the time I've seen the room, i regretted the reservation, I've changed my room thrice only because i couldn't cancel as my company had made full payment in advance. The place is extremely scary and secluded, there are barely people in it, the rooms are dirty, covered with dust all over, even the floor isn't mopped properly, the washroom has no toiletries nor tissues, i saw strands if hair on the hand towel in the washroom, I've been trying to call the reception/restaurant 5 times since i heard a knock on the door but no answer, in the evening when i asked for water bottle as there was no water in the room, they said it's chargeable! I'm a solo business traveler, writing this review at 2a.m. and I'm just dreading to pass this night at this worst property ever, feeling really unsafe.

Beautiful place. Nice and cosy atmosphere. The lawn area is a charm. Being a heritage stay, there are limitations but one should be aware of it and just enjoy the laid back character. Loved the stay here. Food service definitely needs to improve but the staffs are really welcoming.

Such a lovely place! My room was spacious, clean and nicely appointed with a separate sitting area, comfortable bed with fresh, soft sheets and pillows, nice towels, hot water — a wonderful experience. The grounds are quite large with ample outdoor seating and the main hotel lobby is like stepping back in time.

Room service is practically non-existent. For hot water, you need to call housekeeping and wait for 15 minutes — some antiquated mechanism in this age of solar water heaters. Rooms are old and decadent and could be cleaner. No cupboards or safes for valuables. Outdoor parking is messy when it rains. Overall, we expected much of this hotel and hoped to stay in the palace rooms, which were strangely not available despite their being no other occupants that evening. It gets very noisy at night when restaurant guests are celebrating. Didn’t try the food so no opinion on that. We were delayed by 30 minutes while checking out because no one was attending the “24/7 reception”. Overpriced. An OYO offers much more value for the tariff that this hotel charges. The location is excellent and the exterior is really charming.

Very poorly managed. Stayed in September 2022. No water in the room for toilet or bath. Finally someone brought 2 buckets of water. Food Menu card shows many items only upma was available. Next room loud music and party was on at 2:30 am no one to stop. It was told as wheelchair friendly on agoda but every room has 2 big steps. So mother who is wheel chair bound had to checkout early from the hotel. Overall very badly managed, understaffed with 3-4 workers. Horrible for lodging. Only evening outdoor garden restaurant is good.

Check your room before checking-in. Cons: Rooms either smell of dust or dampness. Mosquitoes, lizards. No AC. Pros: Lawn dinning area Supportive staff My story: Fooled by the reviews booked online. What came as shock was we were offered a room in another building on the right and not the main building. The rooms were very glommy and smelled of dust. Bathrooms were good with no exhaust fan and an opening into the room and roof which meant foul smell could seep in. The floor was dusty and within no time of setting our foot on the floor they turned black. Request to change our room to the main building was honoured. Whilst the new room offered, smelled of dampness and mosquitoes were present it was way better with good lighting.

It is a very nice open space to relax and have food here but unfortunately restaurant service is critically bad. Whatever one or two menu options for breakfast should be served right. Dint even provide chutney for puri the basic thing. They show least interest in serving and say 1 or 2 people we don't prepare.

Our experience at Green Hotel was pleasant. The feeling of staying in a palace is the main takeaway here even though the actual rooms are pretty small and form part of the outside and not the main building. The rooms are quaint and cozy. The service was good. The food at the open air restaurant is really yummy. However, we had some issues with the plumbing here. The coffee shop is a bit pricey as well. Overall it was decent experience.

Such a serene hotel. As the name says you can see green all around and lot of beautiful flowers. One of the best hotels in Mysore. Food quality and quantity is also good. You can visit Mysore King's guest house as well which is situated adjacent. Over all had a great experience here. Loved it

FYI,,, it was guest house of Mysuru King which turned to be hotel now.. Good place to stay. Inside the premise, there malgudi Cafe which serves delicious cakes and good coffee accompanied with historic books to read in next library. 1st floor includes Prince an princess room including big dining hall with all amenities were used by king's family being kept and are available to occupy. Breakfast is served however dinner is great only during the weekend. It is great experience to sit in open gardens and have delicious dinner along with your family. Enjoy the stay

Fantastic restaurant located outside in the garden area of the hotel. Great Indian cuisine with a sprinkle of western dishes. Head over to the bakery inside the hotel afterwards for a nice relaxed coffee and a fantastic rich chocolate cake. And everything for a fair price.

Very Beautiful and Spacious Place. I visited here with family and friends. Place clean, nicely maintained and absolutely delicious food. The kids enjoyed this place. Free Parking Space. Evenings are beautiful, there are a lot of lights, and seating between flowers gives calm n refreshing vibes.

The green hotel is any day better to a 5star luxury hotel. History speaks for itself. Spacious room, relax atmosphere, best part NO television and AC. This hotel has a huge outdoor lawn seating facing the palace. Bookworms will love this place. This place are for travellers looking to relax in a quite surrounding. Pet friendly. Has a all women run bakery sending out the old styled English cakes tarts puffs and breads. Friendly staff headed by a Manager Mr. Syed Khadri. Eco friendly hotel. Best wishes to all.

I have had the privilege of staying at The Green Hotel several times in the past two months. Each stay more than met my expectations: safe, clean, convenient walking distance for my purposes; fine service in the outside dining and inside coffee shop. Manjula is an excellent office manager: personable, available and helpful. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Two suggestions: please provide free bottled water; and improve wifi. I will continue to recommend The Green Hotel, and hope to stay there again.

A beautiful property. Nice ambiance. However the maintenance requires lots of attention. Service is good. However the quality of food not great. Coffee shop Malgudi is good. The cakes are amazing. Enjoyed filter coffee. Amble parking available.

Had been there for dinner. One of the beautiful places I have ever visited to have a perfect drink and food. Ambience is simply amazing. You get to see the antique items, paintings and much more if you visit inside the hotel ( which was a guest house for kings at one time). Price is reasonable. A must visit place if you love sitting under open space sipping a glass of beer and good food. Recommended to visit at night than day for an amazing experience

We went here for a small party after a work event. The food was alright, but it could be better. The ambiance of the place is nice, the building is actually a restored old movie studio. Overall it was a good experience.

Absolutely terrible service. Sat there for over an hour, changed tables but none of the staff attended us. Nobody even came to arrange the table or hand us the menu. People had to beg for service again and again to the managers. The ambience is amazing but what’s the use when it’s there only as a showpiece. Truly the definition of style over substance. 0/10

I traveled with my Indian friend who booked the hotel. The rooms are likely ok for a native however they leave a bit to be desired for non-native. Good enough for the evening but I wouldn't do multiple days.

One of the most sustainable hotels i have encountered , both in terms of value for money and practices. The view is great from the room, ample space for children to run around. The food provided in the premises is also commendable. They have a cafe located on the premises which is beautiful

The only plus point is they have good ambience. The food is below average. They do not value the customers , we had to ask twice to provide water. Tried toasted chicken sandwich which is just full of mayonnaise, kulcha and rotis were not so soft, it was hard. Ordered oranges juice as well and ended up having a not so good dining experience!

This review is for the restaurant. The Ambience is good with nice outdoor garden seating but service quality is not so good. Food quality is ok but they really need to improve the service standards.Staff need to be trained in giving better customer service. Highly suggest you to reserve seating in advance otherwise you may find it hard to get seats on weekends.

Beautiful place, decent stay! This is a very old property but has been well maintained! The main attraction is the main building that houses the coffee shop and some premium rooms. However, most deluxe rooms are in a separate building which are basic. The entire compound is beautiful and the restaurant had a great ambiance especially for candlelight dinner at night. Definitely worth the price! We booked deluxe room which was okay for the price considering the overall experience. However the premium rooms must be a much better experience!

This is like an ancient hotel with old style rooms. There are no specific high-tech and luxury services available. The place is on main road, connecting all main attraction. Staff is very supportive and services are great. It has food service & bar too which is also better. I found it little costly compare to the facilities they provide.

I booked standard twin bed room in this hotel Jan 2023 after seeing the hotel picture. Actual building shown in the picture is Malkudi cofee shop. Rooms are located in another side. No Air conditioning very old rooms. Worst bathroom cleanliness. No complimentary breakfast for this price. Poor ventilation in room. Not at all suitable for who carries infants. We can get best amenity rooms near by. They change price based on customer. I will never recommend this place more than anything for poor ventilation and worst restroom maintenance. It may be suitable for premium rooms but not for standard twin bed rooms for 3K. Booked room for couple with infant they have given one towel and one dental kit.

If you're someone going to Mysore for a short weekend trip and want to stay in a nice place, then you should definitely check this place out. Our one night's stay at this place was so good. Enjoyed. The hotel is indeed 'Green'. From the staff uniforms, to the towels to the amount of greenery present within the compound, everything is indeed very Green. Since it is actually a Green hotel, there are no luxurious amenities like TV, swimming pool or even a mini-fridge in the rooms like you would get in any other hotel. The restaurant is good and serves some really good food. The bakery is very good. Do try out their lemon drizzle cake and date walnut cake. Delicious. We stayed in the deluxe room and it was spacious enough and honestly the fan in the room was more than enough to keep us cool. The staff is also very courteous and helpful. The aesthetics at this place makes it a good place for a photoshoot. Would love to come back again and stay at this place.

First of all - they have a restaurant which is very popular and frequented by many and then their is this stay option (hotel). So be clear when you look at rating as this can be deceptive. Well we stayed there for a night based on ratings and photos that we saw on the booking site. We were surprized by the rooms. They had no AC, Cooler or TV, which we could compromise considering they promote sustainability. However what totally took us off guard was quality of bed, linen, no toiletries, no drinking water, no kettle, they have metal buckets in bathroom which have layer of rust and calcium deposits ... well I felt we are at a dormitory rather than a hotel. If it wasn't late in the evening, we would have left then and there. Now comes the service part. So I wasn't expecting much after this but I expected they will listen when I called the reception. Well they take the call and forget completely. The restaurant food is good and if you can ignore the service. They forgot to tell us that they can't give us any bread or starters until our order was delivered with all curries and no bread with a suggestion to take rice instead.

Loved the property with the spread out garden area with beautiful rooms and some very helpful staff. It felt like a home away from home. I recommend this place to just unwind and relax with nature and beauty.

This review is for restaurant There was a birthday party going on and it was a wrong time to visit I guess since the focus was the party Soup - we ordered hot and sour soup which was unbearably spicy and left me hiccuping for the rest of the night. When asked why it was so spicy the staff said ; it’s hot and sour soup and it will be spicy. Made us feel like we have never had that before. Starter - they took the order but later denied saying their kitchen is busy and they have to cater to birthday guests. Roti - Burnt and hard. They replaced later.Could give only tandoori roti and nothing else. Reason - Party. Mushroom curry - average taste. Quantity was not sufficient. We adjusted since we didn’t know if they can accommodate another order Of course couldn’t dine in the lawn due to party and we were treated by mosquitoes and heavy smokers in the covered restaurant. Overall - poor experience. Will not visit again unless we are invited for a birthday

Worst experience. That banglaw is not the place of stay when you book a room. They have separate sheds constructed sideways. Untidy rooms. Rude behavior of waiters. Waited for one hour, they didn't even take the order, finally had to go outside for dinner even though stayed there.

A very nice heritage hotel with classic vibes. Rooms are great, in an old style. There are no ACs, but rooms are built in such material that it's cold inside. They got a nice cafeteria and open dining area as well. They serve delicious food and price is very much affordable. Good place for candle light dinner Must try is Coffee here.

Amazing place. Little different from other hotels as its an heritage property. No TVs in the rooms a lot of greenery around and open air dining is simply awesome. Gives u a feeling of old styled luxry. Basically an old movie studio converted to a hotel. Loved it overall....

The best location but service is extremely slow. One reason could be is for a noble cause. The proceeds for the hotel goes to charity and hence not like chain of hotels The hotel is in a place and that itself is an experience. Restaurant food and staff is very good.

I loved the ambience and the quality of food, candle light dinners are a top notch here ! The garden is so blissful and the taste of food is fantastic 😋 and the food us very hygienically prepared and served

Royal ambience ofcourse it's a palace. Very calm place. Food are good with very affordable price. But after they opened post covid there are some improvements needed I hope they will pace up in future. There were less staffs to serve and burdening themselves heavy to serve the dishes walking around from kitchen to lawn. Otherwise it's a good place to visit with family and friends.

Worst at service It’s like they order us to sit where they want , they don’t have patience to listen to the order. But Peaceful atmosphere , amazing sunset view , the bakery Malgudi cafe is too good brownie and chocolate cake is must try . Service really needs to better .

Horrible food. The staff is unprofessional and unmanaged. I had ordered sandwiches which took ages to come. Finally I stepped into their kitchen to find out that they were already ready but just werent served. I got them to my table. Kitchen was shabby and looked more or less like a Dhaba kitchen.. Had milkshake at the Magudi Cafe... That was also a disaster... Mango milkshake had a dark yellow color as if it was Turmeric milk !!! Overall not worth it. Avoid it if you can. Better places down the road..

Pros- Good Location, calm surroundings. It’s a heritage property maintained well. Spacious arena. Nice place to chill for a weekend. Cons- The food and service is pathetic. The old waiters in the restaurant only focus on Non-Indian visitors cracking jokes & spending time serving them. Food is with limited options. I recommend to eat out rather, there are many family restaurants nearby.
