Wonderful place for walking, jogging and your morning workouts! I have been coming to this lake from childhood, but from 2012 I am coming regularly and often for walking. Tips & Imp information: 1) Lake Timings- 5:30 am to 10:00 am (but now due to covid they are closing at 9am) and then again 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. 2) Gates (totally 4)- Near railway crossing: you have ample official space for parking. Opp Saraswathipuram: ample space of parking on public road. Opp University CSIT: you have ample official space for parking. Opp Govt guest house: you don't have parking except for few 2 wheelers.

Kukkarahalli lake is the lungs of mysore with greenery all around the lake, with beautiful site of the birds and fishes. It was having boating once upon a time but it has been halted. The lake is of 58 hectares with a j shaped walking line of around 5 kilometers. During Dussehra time flower show also conducted. This lake has been maintained by the university of mysore with free of cost to the visitors. This place is cool and chill and good for kids no plastic is allowed and no food accessories are available inside. A good place for walking and spending time peacefully with your loved ones. Happy walking....

A very nice place to spend evenings and mornings with friends, family and by yourself. Will get to see beautiful sunsets and a lot of migratory birds like pelicans. A good place for mindfulness amongst the city view. Can spend evenings jogging, walking and exercising. Fresh air and nature sounds.

Wonderful place for all generations. It's a walk inside the nature. Specifically it's a blessings for this city that such a beautiful lake is situated in the heart of the city. Amazing view of the lake and birds. Calm and quiet place while we take a walk in the path way. Request everyone to maintain cleanliness during their visit.

It was very nice place where you can spend time during free time with friends and family. There are people who do jogging and exercise during mornings and evenings near the lake. The view near the lake is very nice. Everyone can go and enjoy the breeze of cool wind and sit on the cement chairs and kill time under the trees

A long walk, almost 4.5 kms around the lake was great experience. We can watch birds, if we have patience to do so. With a small island in the middle of lake, full of cranes, is a valuable time spent.

Set in the heart of the city, Kukkarahalli Lake is a J-shaped lake spread over 58 hectares and has a shoreline of 5 kilometres. Oozing with an awe-inspiring natural landscape, the lake is one of the best tourist places in Mysore to get away from the bustling city and catch a breath. With the magnificent Chamundi Hills as a backdrop, the hills have been an inspiration to many authors and poets in the past including R.K. Narayan, T.S. Venkannaiah, and G.S. Shivarudrappa. The lake is home to approximately 180 bird species and several migratory birds.

Kukkarahalli Lake is a get away place, even though it is situated in the heart of the city. People come here for walk and exercising. And also it's a breading ground for birds and many amphibians, surrounded by lush greenery. The best place to bring kids for a walk or a picnic.

All I can say is this place is a blessing for Mysoreans. How beautiful is this man made lake built by king for irrigation! Beautiful migratory birds visited last monsoon here :) Lucky to take a look at them in their natural habitat. Just a walk is a meditative experience here, doing nothing but looking at the birds and wildlife here!

Lost its beauty long ago. Now this tank is surrounded by roads and pollution. Stinking smell of the sewage water. No space for the rain water to flow in. All inroads of water blocked. The custodian of this tank, University of Mysore is in deep slumber. Toilets stinking with no water

Perfect spot to hide from the hustling and bustling of the city. The sad part is that it is open for few hours in the morning and evening. I wished its opened the entire day so that we could escape the scorching heat of the afternoon sun. In the evening, it tends to get crowded with many coming for walks or runs.
