Such an amazing place. The waiter made us feel at home, he was very kind and helpful. He asked us about our preferences to bring us the local food that we would like. He brought 7 different types of food for us to try and a dessert for only 9 euros per person! It was so cheap and tasty that we couldn’t believe it. I suggest going there around midday, we were a bit too late. However, it still was a wonderful experience!

Best traditional Greek restaurant. We came upon it by chance and we had our best meal ever. Plus it’s so affordable. They served us 4 yummy vegetarian dishes and 2 grilled fish all for €20! To top it off they gave us Greek wine on the house and even packed us semolina cake for dessert on the house too! They close early so make sure you get there before 7 pm. Before 5 even better. Friendly host and chef and friendly fast service too. Highly recommended.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Went twice on our trip to Greece. The waiter brought us many small plates of different dishes. My favorites were the chick peas, giant beans and veal. The house red wine is tasty. The dessert is also very good. Definitely worth a trip.

Discovered this place based on reviews, and it did not disappoint! Walking distance from hotel and extremely tourist friendly even though most there appeared to be locals. I asked for a recommendation, and he put together a little sampler for me. All this for only 10 euros! Probably one of the best meals I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and go!

We had a fabulous lunch. The owner brought us a variety of food to sample. Everything was wonderful and we had so much fun sampling the dishes. He explained each dish and offered to get us more of our favorites. However, we were stuffed and declined his kind offer. Highly recommend you stopping in this unique restaurant.

An amazing little gem we found in the middle of Athens! We enjoyed a selection of authentic, aromatic dishes in this traditional taverna style restaurant. No fuss, just really great food and good service. 20 euros for two people was more than reasonable. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a proper Greek feed in Athens.

Pristine example of Greek hospitality. We were greeted with utmost sincerity and treated very well. Amounts of food are impossible to consume by ordinary human they need Titan skills. Very vernacular for which you have to be prepared. Very well prepared food with strong feeling for own tradition and family style eating. This place is a must.

My favorite restaurant in Greece. Ask the staff to bring you a little bit of everything and you can taste all sorts of Greek home style foods. They always have very good prices and show great hospitality.

I can't believe I haven't written a review about this place. I have been to this place so many times. They have 5-6 vegan choices every time - all for 5 euros, which include salad and bread. There is no menu so before you sit and order, you should go to the kitchen and see what looks good. If you're vegan, you should ask the people there what is available. The vegan choices are usually stuffed veggies, giant beans, peas, artichokes, mushroom pasta. The stuffed grape leaves have meat though. Some dishes are hidden at the back or even are still in the oven so you should always ask. The people there are used to the tourists and speak English fairly well. During peak hours on Saturday, it may be hard to find a table outside but can sit inside. The only complaint I have is that they should use biodegradable containers for take out, instead of plastic and aluminum

This restaurant was one of my favourite stops in the whole of Athens. They serve a variety of traditional plates for a set price which for us was 11€ each. The food looks homemade and is extremely good and very filling. Which is amazing specially if you are new here so you try different options. The staff is so nice and charming, specially after coming from the pushy, fast and uninterested service of the other restaurants in the city center. You know a place is good when is full of locals. Definitely coming back!!

I found this place totally by accident, and I am so grateful I did so! Konstantinos is a great host and he really made us feel at home. We went about an hour before closure and he was so kind to prepare something special for us to try from different types of local food. The prices are super decent and the atmosphere was truly authentic. I will definitely go back.

We asked our tour driver to take us somewhere authentic for lunch and the food was amazing! They prepared a meze for us with Greek salad, lamb, beef, veal, chicken and buffalo. Everything was homemade and tasted wonderful.

We were looking for Greek "tapas" and put it in the search bar. It came up with ta5f Taverna only two blocks from our hotel. It could not have worked out any better. Konstantino said, let me serve you a meze meal of home cooked small plates, so we put our faith in his suggestion and was not disappointed. We never even looked at a menu. The food tasted as if a Greek family invited you into there home for a home cooked meal that Mama made. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and Konstantinos care, attention and conversation and were surprised at what the cost of this filling meal and wine came out to. If you want to stray from the touristy restaurants into a neighborhood taverna for home cooked Greek food, I would reccomend ta5f Taverna. Bring your appetite.

KIWI VIEW. Sit outside if you can. Wait. The waiter will come to you eventually. This is not a fast food restaurant (though you can go inside and get takeaway). The VERY friendly waiter will come to you and speak English very well. As he will explain this is a very traditional Greek food place like the grandmother cooks. He’s not lying. The food changes daily depending on fresh availability. This is ok. There’s no real menu anyways. He’ll offer to sort food for you and will discuss your preferences, eg fish, meat, chicken - anything you prefer or can’t eat. Go with this. I asked for a whole grilled fish. Yummy. Bread and Greek Salad come free. Don’t forget to dress the salad to your own liking. This meal will not be a rush. Enjoy it. If you have any questions regarding the food and cooking methods they can answer in detail. Finally, this place is cheap (12euro for my full meal plus one soft drink and traditional dessert) and FANTASTIC value for money. They take cash payment at the table and card payment inside.

Delicious greek food at good price! We had to wait 45min for order, but it wad worth it. I really recommend that place if you would like to taste greek cousine.

Four years ago I came here and then for the whole four years I was thinking to come back in Athens for eating here. It’s a family style taverna. 10 euro you can taste the very traditional, good quality Greek food. Like their ideas, their foods are like your family will cook you. I will come back every time when I’m in Athens.

This place was a must on my list and I’m so glad I managed to visit. The staff are lovely and the meze was absolutely delicious (and reminded me so much of being with my family in Cyprus). Honest, heartwarming and truly ‘local’ experience - will definitely return.

Incredible place. The hosts are incredibly friendly and they really want you to be satisfied and happy. The food was excellent and really is homemade, like grandmother feeding you homemade. The prices are also outstanding. We paid 24 euros for several plates of food, bread, wine, and dessert. Don’t miss out and try it!

Immediately a very warm welcome once you enter the restaurant and the food was great. To take a break from the typical tourist foods and eat a variety of authentic home cooked meals to get to know the Greek cuisine is definitely why you should come here, that and the great prices and previously mentioned hospitality.

Incredible experience! We visited 5φ while in Athens and we were greeted right away. Since we do not speak very much Greek, we were nervous to order but the staff took care of us and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We were served bread, Greek salad, multiple courses, dessert, and even delicious wine! The best experience by far. I totally recommend! It was very affordable as well!

I cannot praise this place, its staff and food enough. A week after visiting, my boyfriend and I are still talking about how amazing everything was. We were the only tourists there but they made us feel welcomed and right at home from the moment we arrived. You can tell the owner, and the rest of the staff, love what they do and love sharing their culture with other people through food. We had several dishes, meze style, and everything we tried was incredible, and for only 10€ each. The only thing we can say is thank you, and we will definitely come back when we are in Athens again. And for anyone reading this, please do not hesitate to pay them a visit, you will regret it if you don't!
