Take
a
break
from
the
noise
and
heavy
atmosphere
of
the
city
and
take
a
deep
breath
in
a
green
open
space
of
amazing
beauty,
in
quiet,
peaceful,
clean
and
neat
spaces,
which
is
comfortable
for
all
ages.
In
about
20
minutes
from
the
centre
of
Athens,
there's
a
huge
green
space
offers
for
outdoor
activities
in
a
beautiful
natural
environment
You
can
relax
in
the
shade
of
the
trees,
have
a
coffee
or
a
snack
at
the
café
or
enjoy
a
picnic
at
one
of
the
wooden
gazebos.
There
are
outdoor
gym
equipment,
football
and
basketball
fields,
tennis
court,
skateboard
track,walking,
hiking
and
cycling
trails,
playgrounds
for
the
little
ones
and
indoor
and
outdoor
swimming
pools.
It's
ideal
for
walks
and
relaxation,
exercise
and
recreation.
Grass
and
trees
everywhere,
wooden
gazebos
and
benches
to
rest.
If
you
love
arts
and
culture
there's
a
small
open-air
theatre
that
hosts
exceptional
performances
and
events
during
the
summer
months,
and
an
open-air
cinema
you
will
enjoy
unique
cultural
experiences
under
the
starry
sky.
Veikos
Grove
is
located
in
the
north
of
the
Turkovounia
and
it's
one
of
the
largest
parks
in
Athens.
The
name
of
the
park
comes
from
the
eponymous
Souliotis
fighter
of
the
Greek
Revolution,
Lambros
Veikos,
who
was
killed
in
the
Battle
of
Analatos
in
1827.
To
honor
him,
the
state
gave
his
heirs
land
in
the
area
of
today's
Veikos
Grove,
and
then
the
main
road
of
Galatsi
was
named
after
him
(
Leoforos
of
Veikos).
It
is
one
of
the
most
popular
destinations
of
Athens
for
the
weekend.
If
you
have
time,
do
not
miss
to
visit
this
grove.
I
highly
recommend
it!
