Take a break from the noise and heavy atmosphere of the city and take a deep breath in a green open space of amazing beauty, in quiet, peaceful, clean and neat spaces, which is comfortable for all ages. In about 20 minutes from the centre of Athens, there's a huge green space offers for outdoor activities in a beautiful natural environment You can relax in the shade of the trees, have a coffee or a snack at the café or enjoy a picnic at one of the wooden gazebos. There are outdoor gym equipment, football and basketball fields, tennis court, skateboard track, walking, hiking and cycling trails, playgrounds for the little ones and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. It's ideal for walks and relaxation, exercise and recreation. Grass and trees everywhere, wooden gazebos and benches to rest. If you love arts and culture there's a small open-air theatre that hosts exceptional performances and events during the summer months, and an open-air cinema you will enjoy unique cultural experiences under the starry sky. Veikos Grove is located in the north of the Turkovounia and it's one of the largest parks in Athens. The name of the park comes from the eponymous Souliotis fighter of the Greek Revolution, Lambros Veikos, who was killed in the Battle of Analatos in 1827. To honor him, the state gave his heirs land in the area of today's Veikos Grove, and then the main road of Galatsi was named after him ( Leoforos of Veikos). It is one of the most popular destinations of Athens for the weekend. If you have time, do not miss to visit this grove. I highly recommend it!

Nice park to take a walk, run or just relax with your kids. You can do many activities here. It also has 2-3 big cafeterias to drink your coffee. The park is well preserved.

I am biased because I am a regular but veikou Grove is a great quick get-away for your daily needs. Plenty of green, magnificent view, likable shops, very well taken care of and stuff for kids as well. There's also an Olympic sized pool which makes it even more pleasant to the eye. Definitely recommended, especially during spring and summer times, and autumn if not too cold.

Went there for the annual anti-racism festival and it was a very bad experience. First of all it had a 5 euro entrance fee that was not mentioned on any of the posters, which is almost a scam cause if you are already there(in the middle of nowhere) of course you are gonna pay the fee to get in. It was free for unemployed people and immigrants but it took them quite a while to mention it(almost like they didn't want to). Also I learned from some people that the year prior they were asking for papers to prove you are unemployed or an immigrant. IMAGINE REQUESTING PAPERS FROM IMMIGRANTS ON AN ANTI-RACISM FESTIVAL. The place looked nice though.

A great park to go for sports. There are enough space for everyone - soccer players, yoga practice, runners, frisbi or just to go fir a walk or a family picnic. There are also 2 cafes to chill, so you won't stay hungry. If you climb the hill, you may catch a sunset and nice view. Take 608 bus fir public transportation or ask google maps for a short way if you go by car.

Really nice place with hella green places, many football(soccer for Americans)fields, basketballs, places to chill, playgrounds for children,an outside gym, nice view from the hill,a place for a game which idk the name of,many cats and hella nice skatepark with some cool drawings Only bad things are that it doesn't have like a grocery shop near it and that the place to sit for the skatepark is a lil bit high so u either have to skate it up there or kinda jump?

Nice place for a day out, offering many options to keep everybody happy: playground, basketball / tennis / football pitches, skate ramp, swimming pool, café, shop, public restrooms. Also good for running and kids cycling/ scooter.

They are currently building a lot of new "activities" like swings, slides, bars etc that are really great for children. The nature is amazing and the park is clean. Great place for children, they simply love it. Ideal for walking or jogging. Great for running with your dog. (Always clean after your dog..) Also has basketball courts and even a skatepark!

A nice open space, well kept and varied enough for kids and runners alike, with a pool facility and a two coffee shops for the less sportive kind. Pleasantly surprised.
