Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Omkareshwara. Three days fair is held yearly from Shivaratri and Chariot procession is the main attraction. Been visiting here since childhood. Earlier there was a very small temple resembling a hut and the only way to reach the temple was to climb the steps made by placing carved stones. Recently a modern temple was built and big Shiva Linga is installed along with Lord Ganesha and Goddess Parvati. Along with the new temple a vehicle route was also constructed, but it is a mud road. Surrounded environment is calm and beautiful, you can see peacocks here very often.

Peaceful place to spend time with family. Road construction underway till top of the hill. Few improvements required like safety walls, water and parking facility. Overall good place.

The Mighty and unknown Sri Omkareshwara Temple on a hillock is about 48km from Mysuru, 5km from Nilavagilukaval village. One can trek all the way to the top of the hill via 100+ stone steps or use the mud road available to reach the top. The view from the top is breathtaking. On top of the hill Sri Omkareshwara Temple is present. Peaceful, calm and bliss place. There are multiple small hills attached to this place. The road to this place is good with greenery around. Overall a must visit place for trek lovers
