Best Museum I've ever visited !! Lot of efforts has been put in ... Entry tickets are very affordable ... You get to know more information about our defense system !! Must visit place for those who are residing in ooty & the tourist whoever visit 😀Make sure about the timings alone ... we have visited around 3.00 PM ... there's a lunch break in between 1 to 3 ... if You are planning to visit in the morning then go ahead... it will be open after 9.00 AM most probably ... Taking pictures inside the museum is prohibited 🚫 make sure everyone follow their guidelines. However, taking pictures outside the museum will be allowed... there is a TODA hut 🛖 canteen & great scenery ... can spend your time well 😊

An excellent museum of the Madras Regiment. Everything is automated when one walks to the various zones of the museum. From history to states, from battle ground to soldiers, from medals to weapons, from audio visual representation to life size statues, from tanks to bunker. An honour to see and experience all this in one place that's the Madras Regiment museum. Salute to the Madras Regiment. Proud to be an Indian and the Indian army. A must visit place if you are in Ooty.

It is a military museum. The history covers the advent of British and pre independence wars in the South ,which eventually resulted in consolidation and establishment of British rule in southern India. It also covers the early raising of native infantry regiments under the Crown and their subsequent evolution into Madras regiment, one of finest regiments in the present day Indian Army.

Good place for students specially to connect their studies and stories posted there. But concern is they are asking to park the vehicle outside the entrance even though they have place for parking which can be improved. It's has automatic ticket machine. Entry ticket is 50 rs. Toilet is there inside.Small garden there around the museum. If anybody explaining the things then itw I'll be easy to understand.

My visit to the Madras Regimental Museum was truly remarkable. The museum's deep sense of patriotism resonated with me as I explored the rich history and battles fought by the regiments. What stood out was the seamless experience at the fully automated ticket counter, making entry a breeze. Located in Coonoor, away from the hustle and bustle of Ooty, this museum feels like a hidden treasure. It's a place that deserves more recognition for the unique experience it offers. I was pleasantly surprised by the museum's souvenir shop, which featured heavily discounted items. It's a fantastic spot to find meaningful mementos to take home. The highlight of my visit was the model bunker, allowing visitors to step into the shoes of a battlefield soldier. Equipped with real semi-automated rifles, helmets, and protective suits, this immersive experience added depth and excitement to my time there. In conclusion, the Madras Regimental Museum is an absolute must-visit. It offers a genuine journey through history in a peaceful setting, making it a hidden gem for history enthusiasts. If you're in the area, don't miss the chance to explore this exceptional museum. Dont miss it If you're in there!

One of best museum I would recommend for kids of high school or who keen to know about Indian Army. You can't take your camera or phone inside. Need to buy a ticket. There are operational hours and need to know. 3-5pm second half is shorter than morning slot. You will see a lot of history of India Army, especially Madras Regiment. Outside they maintain a lovely rose garden. Loved those roses. If you are in Coonoor or Ooty or Kothagiri, pls do plan this with kids.

A must visit place I might say. The history of Madras regiment is of glory and bravery. You can walk through viewing the various artifacts of the army and dive deep into history of various wars that our brave soldiers have fought. Inside the museum there is small theatre where you will be able to watch a short documentary feature about the Madras Regiment. It's bound to give you goosebumps. The ticket counter also has a souvenir shop.

We visited this Museum at Wellington, Coonoor. The Madras Regimental Centre is probably the First Battalion created by the British. It's an amazing museum and details the History of Indian Army and the Role played by MRC- the Brave Tamilians. A place one should definitely visit and learn about our wonderful Indian Army.
