A decent place to dine at Ooty with good parking and restrooms. As it is in the ground floor, accessibility is easy for all. Wash basins are provided but there is a lot of scope to improve hygiene. The interiors are well done and restaurant is spacious. We ordered for a non veg meal and kuthu porota, pepper chicken and a egg side dish. Kuthu porota was good and the egg side dish never came so eventually told them to cancel it. The chicken was good. The let down was the so called non veg meal where only white rice, two veg sides were given and three gravies such as chicken, fish and mutton gravy but remember only gravies and a boiled egg. I asked for a papad and they told me it was for veg meals only. Over all a decent experience except for the non veg meal hype. Try it to experience it.

Good place to try out the kongu style food. Their biryani is famous, so you might want to try it out. Like their other dishes like pallipalayam and mutton chukka and all.

Must try Mutton Nalli gravy with Porotha! A bit spicy, but very tasty! Tried their chicken pallipalayam which was ok.

It's the first resturant in my life where I have been served a non veg meal for lunch which had no non veg in it. All they give is gravy. It's honestly lame. A brand like this should do better specially when they serve quality food. Also service is very slow and the waiters seems very short staffed. They have put a notice saying that there will be extra wait time for service. Instead they should employ more waiter to cater the load.

If your in Ooty and wanted to try some authentic South Indian dishes. This is a must visit. Clean and delicious food. Ample car parking space. Very few eateries in ooty city with good parking lot. Good for family. It's situated near a heritage property which gives you the right vacation vibe with good food. Slightly on the expensive side but for families it's a good choice.

Must try a hotel in Ooty, It looks small but once we step in that flavours of food is just amazing. We tried Mutton biryani it was so good but we were disappointed with the quantity of biriyani It was very less and didn't take half mutton biryani, order it full. The ambiance is great it tells about how kuppanna's started his journey etc. Please give it a try it's worth it.

Excellent food and service, we tried the mutton biryani and the veg meals. Both the dishes were superb and service was very prompt as well, the only issues was that the mutton biryani hardly had any peices. Ambience of the elk hill branch is very relaxing as well.

Had been for breakfast and the options were very less , some of the items were not available. The service was little disrupted and few items were oily. The price is also slightly not worth it. Parking available .

Kuska / Plain Biriyani Rice along with any non veg dishes like Mutton Chukka or Mutton Pepper Fry or Chicken is a tasty combination. The quantity of mutton chukka was less but taste was awesome.

Had a wonderful lunch at Junior kuppana , charing cross junction, Ooty. We had veg meals with Fish fry and prawns roast. It was heavenly experience with both our pallet and hearts filled. Excellent customer service by staff. This is one of the best Junior kuppana branches I have visited.

Food is delicious. We ordered Fish Fry and chicken chukka . Everything was good. Staff is also nice. Prices are affordable. Must visit if you are in Ooty. You must remember that it's south India and you will find lots of curry leaves in almost all dishes. Heads-up if you don't like curry leaves in your food.

Not even deserve 1 star... Don't go with the rating or the year of the establishment. Here is my experience.. I recently went for lunch , finally after waiting for 20 mins n odd we got seat alloted . Then after till 30 mins no body even asked about what u wanna have ...we called waiter several time , no response .. complained the receptionist about this , but no use.. again after killing another 10 mins , we came out of the restaurant without having food despite of being hungry.. I heard many people asking to the receptionist for improving their service. I repeat.. one of the worst service in Ooty...I can't comment on food... By looking at it ..it was average.

Manager attitude unbearable. It is Hard to believe no Paneer items for vegetarian people at 8:45 pm with excuse paneer finished. Only gobhi, muttor items available. We walkout without food, hence not sure about taste and quality.

The mutton items are sooo good. We couldn't get mutton nalli. Parottas were hot, soft n layered. If you opt for rotis, dosas, or chapatis you would end up having a half filled tummy but empty pocket 😅 So better to opt for some good biriyani n mutton or chicken starters. Very very lowsy outlet in ooty. Too spicy and your stomach burns after eating. And the service is worst. There was a fight between the servers and the cook. Whatever v ordered, v were not getting. Delicious dishes, friendly behaviour of staffs. Super cleanliness is maintained in kitchen and dining areas.

A good hygienic place situated in the near center of Ooty. I think there is no parking place of their own. But can park the cars and bikes opposite to the hotel. Also there are paid as well as free parking area nearby. Biryani was very nice both quantity and quality wise. Overall maintained their trademark taste.

Visited this place with family. Ordered veg meals and Parata. Taste was really good. Meals was unlimited. However we noticed the biriyani that they were serving was less in quantity. Price was on higher side. As someone mentioned, they are struggling with servicing customers as they are operating with less employees. Overall it was good.

The crowd was too much. Delivery of food was too late. A simple dosai took more than 30 min. Billing was inaccurate and later corrected on intervention. Quality of food was good. Unfortunately delivery spoiled the moment.

The Ooty branch of well known chain of Junior Kuppanna- frankly, is a flop. Food quality is average, no issue with that. But the most of staff’s attitude shows the lack of sincerity. Some staffs are extremely good. It was very cold night, they don’t even care to keep inside warm. I had to ask three times politely and fourth time on shout to close the door to keep the warmth inside. The person looked like a manager’s first answer was it’s not his responsibility to keep the door closed. The mutton biriyani was good, the pieces of mutton in it is hard to pick up.

Went to Celebrate my Friend's B'day And the Rooftop Seating was amazingly awesome with swimming pool beside us and the chill breeze accompanied with hot and tasty food was like magic happening in front of our eyes. Staff were very polite and they made sure our water glasses are full now and then and they were very cautious in bringing the food to our table as fast as they can. There is a bar in the first floor and sometimes those guests come to enjoy their food here, but the staff make sure that they are seated comfortably away from family, so that both enjoy their own time there very much and this is easy to say but i know it is Harder to do, but the staffs handled this like it was very easy. The best place in Erode to chill out and enjoy all your favorite food deliciously. Wish the guys success and hope to visit them again.

The food was surprisingly good here. I had the NON VEG MEAL which consisted of chicken curry, mutton curry and fish curry, cabbage fry, pumpkin sabji, one boiled egg, curd, rice and rasam. The non veg curries are without any meat. So i ordered a side of chicken fry. The taste of all these preparations is very different from what you'd expect, so keep an open mind. The non veg meal costs 170 and the chicken fry costs 240

We visited this restaurant last month and had a chance to eat lunch at this super-tasty place. The place was hygienic, staff behaviour was top-notch and the FOOD so tasty. Although it was shrawana month and I didn’t get a chance to try their non-veg items, the veg thali was awesome specially the Rasam. Would always want to go back and try other things!!!

That's Chicken Pallipalayam in the photo, priced at 250 Rupees, made with left over pieces after all the good portions are used for Biriyani. Just a few born and nothing else. Biriyani quantity is too low for 260 Rupees again. Pretty average.

A legendary place. Fantastic mix of Quality, Quantity and Value for money. Their chicken fry and Mutton Nalli Fry are worth the visit. Many other choices, too. In the afternoon they serve a sumptuous Thali as well. Taste of Nalli fry and Parotha still lingers.

Worst service for a restaurant that has chains in Singapore, too. So I have come to visit ooty for 2 days with my 2 college friends. We decided to go to this place and try the Essaki parotha on 30th June 2023. We reached the restaurant at 8:30 pm, and they made us wait for 30 mins. We had already overheard that there's no Briyani and Gravy items, and only Parotha, Chapati, and Dosa items were available while waiting. Once we headed inside to dine, they informed us that only dosa and dry items were available. Please fix this miscommunication first and try to serve home branches first instead of opening shops on foreign soil. XD

During my stay in Ooty, went for dinner at 8.30 pm waited for a long time for someone to attend us we have to keep calling them n reminding them to come to us. After placing order surprised to hear there was no biriyani n some other main dishes when the place is opened till 9.30 pm. We were told there is only fried rice and dosa. Some customers were also annoyed and shouted at them. Very pathetic service and unavailability of food much before closing time.

Had an amazing experience here. The food quality was so good. The mutton biryani is must try and non-veg meals is just wow. It feels like we are having home cooked authentic Tamil Nadu food. The food served is very hot and fresh and I just loved this place.

Having visited Junior Kuppanna branches in Tanjavur, and Kodaikanal we were very much in love with their food. I expected the same when we saw a branch in Ooty. But I was very disappointed. They have two hotels in Ooty. One in the Commercial Road and the other in Coonoor Road. We went to the one in Commercial Road for dinner. The food waste and used plates kept near the hand wash was nauseating when we first washed our hands forcing us to leave the place immediately. Then next we went to the one in the Coonoor Road. Sat on a table and waited for almost half an hour for the waiter to attend us and only for him to tell us that only Dosa's are available at the moment and the rest of the food needs more waiting as the rest of the food needs preparing from the branch at Commercial Road and brought to here.

Worst place to dine in. Please do not go there. They serve non-veg meals with no non-veg in it. I was really surprised. I have never eaten non-veg meal without any non-veg in it. They only serve the gravy. The service was very bad. If you order an unlimited meal, they do not bother to attend you. You need to ask them as if they are doing us a favour. I strongly recommend not to eat from this place.

As I am from erode, I am the biggest fan of junior kuppana. When we were in Ooty for two years, we had lunch , dinner, breakfast several times in this place. But this time it is really disappointed me. The person who serves dosa is late. He gave dosa first and we got the side dish only if we asked him two or three times. And to my surprise we found a little piece of feather in chicken curry which gave along with kal dosa. This is to the restaurant people, please please take care while you are cooking . So many kids are having food. So please take care.
