Situated at the village kotla in kangra district. There is also a temple named BAGLAMUKHI TEMPLE. You have to cross the playground of GSSS then a yellow iron foot bridge to start climbing the hill of the fort. It become difficult to climb up the hill if you are not habituated of climbing up the hill or habitat of hilly region.

The fort stands at an altitude of 650 m, overlooking the surrounding deep valleys. The fort was built by Raja Ram Chand Guleria of Guler in the 16th century. It was seized during the reign of Raja Suraj Mal Pathania and his brother Madho Singh Pathania was made the commander of the fort. The way to the fort is covered with thick forests of pine. The fort houses 15 corridors and was built on a huge rock, which follows the building style of Kangra Fort. A Bagulamukhi temple is located at the main entrance of the fort. There is also a small temple devoted to Lord Ganesh which features a round roof. The temple is adorned with wall paintings on the outer walls. There is a wall featuring three arches and niches which is popular. Sadly again the fort is in dilapidated condition with no help from either the state government or from ASI. Sad to see historical monuments and pahadi history to be neglected this way.

The fort is in a very dense forest and have some fortification, temple and monuments. Kotla fort is another heritage monument on the State Highway between Shahpur & Nurpur. The fort was built by the Guler Rajas. At the main entrance is the Bagulamukhi temple, one of the incarnations of Durga. There is also a small temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh with roundish roof resembling Bengal roof architecture.
