**Title: "Worst Ocean Ever—A Total Letdown"** **Review:** One of the worst oceans I've ever had the misfortune of encountering. Seriously, if getting lost and stranded on a deserted island is your idea of fun, then sure, the Pacific Ocean might be for you. But for the rest of us, it’s a nightmare. First off, there's trash everywhere. And by trash, I mean the random FedEx packages that wash up on shore. If you’re lucky, you might spot a fish, but good luck with that—most of the areas are completely devoid of any marine life. And don’t even think about taking a swim. The water is salty and disgusting. You’ll definitely get wet, but not in a good way. The water tastes awful—way too salty for anyone’s liking. As for the landscape, sure, it looks gorgeous. You can see for miles, which only serves as a reminder of how hopelessly lost you are. **Pros:** - The sunsets are nice, if you can appreciate them while contemplating your life choices. - The views are expansive, offering miles and miles of nothingness. **Cons:** - You will get lost. No maps, no signs, no nothing. - Trash everywhere, and not the useful kind. - Salty, undrinkable water. - Limited marine life. Don’t count on seeing many fish. - Your only friend will be Wilson, the volleyball, and trust me, he's not great at conversation.

Keep in mind there is an inhabited island and a resort with the same name. This review is for the island. Great snorkeling and swimming, limited hiking, you can only get to the island via boat.

Very secluded island. From the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks. Beautiful clear water, lots of fish for snorkeling. Bring some water to drink!

Unbelievably amazing. The reef near this island is so beautiful rich in colorful coral and fish and this island is like out of a picture postcard with white sand beach and rocky shoreline. It's very beautiful and I loved spending a relaxing afternoon here

Wunderschöne Insel Wanderung auf den Peak ist anspruchsvoll aber äußerst lohnenswert.

Movie scène was ok. But there are more islands around.

Beautiful island. Use CrusinFiji as tour guide to get there as part of a swim and snorkel excursion. The sand bar stop is phenomenal on the way. The island is hot, they have a sheltered area for lunch. Of course expediting 'Castaway' is what it is about. Rare local bird inhabits the island. The family of this tour guide actually owns Monuriki and Monu island to the north. About an hour ride from the port of Denarau. The Lovo pit prepared lunch was great. Lots of local flavor. Staff interaction with group makes the trip wonderful. Guided tour of part of the island with a demonstration and informative stops.

I visited Castaway Island Beach for a short day trip and picnic. The location is stunning and well-maintained by locals. This island served as the backdrop for the film "Castaway" with Tom Hanks. Highly recommended!

Amazing island. It has all you need to love it - nice beach, nice rocky mountain and cool small jungle. More on the pics

Part of many Fiji boat tours, the Island where Castaway was filmed is idyllic and quiet. Good for snorkeling and exploring, with plenty of shade for those in need. A bit over-touristed, but nonetheless worthwhile.
