Absolutely great diving. I went there with only four dives after certification and came back with 18, including two night dives. Kudos to dive instructor David, who watched over me and helped me gain experience and comfort in diving. I felt very very safe. The equipment was wonderful And the dive sites were extraordinary. Captain Mini was great and worked really well with David.

The island and the rooms themselves are cool, however, almost all the staff here are racists. I’m a Chinese living in the Middle East and traveled to many different countries. Here is the only place so far with such strong racism. They treat Chinese people rudely, from communication to services. An example is that my friends went fishing with some foreigners. The others all got fishing rope with hook and lead sinkers and got them first from the captain. And my friends were the last ones and with the ones without sinkers. I’m sure the crew knew that without the sinkers, the hook only flows on the surface and wouldn’t be able to fish. And there are other things happened similarly. We were the same as the other guests here and pay the same, we were also polite communicating, and we were here for a lovely holiday, just like the others. However, the staff just ruined most of the experience. Very disappointing.

We had a wonderful stay, everything was fantastic! We stayed in the pool bure with private beach access and we loved it! The location is so serene, very good snorkling everywhere, even in front of your room. You can visit the island where Cast Away movies with Tom Hanks was filmed, it is just a 15min boat ride to it and there are a few other islands that you can visit and lots of activities that you can do. The island is small and private and there is only one resort on the island.

Had an outstanding honeymoon at the Matamanoa Island Resort. Our Beachfront Bura with private plunge pool was great, the on-site and local reefs are some of the best I have ever seen, food was excellent, the outdoor oceanfront spa was super relaxing, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Recommend taking advantage of the included snorkelling equipment and kayaks. We went on the guided snorkel and I caught a few Spanish Mackerel handline fishing, which the staff made into sashimi and fish curry. Shout out to Lucas and Peter for a thrilling knife and fire show!

We just finished up six nights at Matamanoa for our honeymoon and would highly recommend. From the start of our stay the staff were so warm and welcoming, and throughout the time we were there, we got to know the staff well and felt like part of the community on the island. The villa we stayed in, being one situated on the other side of the island, was extremely spacious and felt very private. The plunge pool was a beautiful addition in the Fijian heat. Every day the villa was cleaned impeccably and there was a lovely turn down service in the evenings. As for meals, the menu changed each night and the food was always fresh and very tasty. We enjoyed the table serenades during dinner as well as the bula welcome and farewell each evening. During the days we were able to do some beautiful snorkelling directly off the beach as well as kayak around the island and play tennis. Matamanoa is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty Fiji has to offer. We would definitely come back!

The snorkeling and kayaking was nice. The Pool area has enough space&is pretty. The Bure we had was good in size and clean, also the outside area was nice. We feel though, for what you get, the price is quite high. Many things are outdated and not usable (Tenniscourt, Gym). The staff is super friendly and nice, but the food was often not warm, not well cooked or far too well cooked. We are pretty sure, that my partner got food poisoning from some of the food and he was ill for 3-4 days, the staff was very friendly about it but yeah - not what you want on a vacation (he wasn’t the only one sick, one other guest aswell as I know of). Also there is a lot of animation going on from the Staff (singing at diner, small fire shows, game night etc.), which was a bit much for us& is just not our thing, so we did not take part. Also as we were there, there was building going on through the day which we heard well in our Bure&garden.
