Byeonsan Peninsula National Park was designated as a national park in 1988, and the flagship species are Byeonsan Baram Flower and Buan Bellflower. Byeonsanbando National Park is famous for Naesosa Temple, Chaeseokgang River, and Jikso Falls, and its summit is Uisangbong Peak, which is 509 meters high. A mountain that looks like rice cake like Juwangsan Mountain is very majestic and impressive. Jigsaw Falls and Bunokdam were very beautiful. The harmony of the West Sea and the rocky tombs was good, but the view of Byeonsan Mountain seen from Gwaneumbong towards Saebong was really nice. If you go around the hiking trail in a circle, the distance is approximately 8km. Soehorn Rock Peak in Naebyeonsan district was also very beautiful. Next, I plan to visit Naesosa Temple and Chaeseokgang.

Area 157km2. Centered around the Byeonsan Mountain Massif in the western part of the Byeonsan Peninsula, it was designated as a provincial park in December 1971, and was promoted to a national park on June 11, 1988. The range covers Byeonsan-myeon, Haseo-myeon, Sangseo-myeon, and Jinseo-myeon. The scenery of Byeonsan Mountain was once considered one of the eight scenic views of Korea and is divided into Naebyeonsan Mountain, or Byeonsan Mountain, and Oebyeonsan Mountain, or Byeonsan Mountain of the Sea. The scenic beauty of Naebyeonsan Mountain consists of the beauty of mountains and valleys of 300-400m high mountains, dense forests, and temples scattered among the mountains. Gaeamsa Temple, located in Gamgyo-ri, Sangseo-myeon, is a temple founded during the reign of King Sukjong of Goryeo. Gaeamsa Temple Daeungjeon (Treasure 292) and Gaeamsa Dongjong (Local Tangible Cultural Heritage 126) were later built in the early Joseon Dynasty. etc. Naesosa Temple, located in Seokpo-ri, Byeonsan-myeon, is an ancient temple founded during the Baekje period and contains Daeungbojeon Hall (Treasure 291), Goryeo Dongjong (Treasure 277), and the main manuscript of the Lotus Sutra.本:Treasure 278), Naesosa Three-story Stone Pagoda (Local Tangible Cultural Heritage 124), Naesosa Temple Seonsildang and Yosa Temple (Local Tangible Cultural Heritage 125), etc. The fir forest around the precincts is magnificent. Jiksopokpo (直沼瀑布), about 20 m high, located not far from Naesosa Temple, forms the most scenic spot of Naebyeonsan Mountain along with Oksubam (玉水潭) in Yongso (龍沼) and the second and third waterfalls below it. On Dongsa-myeon near the top of Nakjodae in Junggye-ri, Sannae-myeon, there is Wolmyeongam Hermitage, founded during the Silla Dynasty, which was rebuilt after suffering damage during the Korean War. The mountain behind it, Nakjodae (448m), has a wonderful view of the sun falling into the Yellow Sea. Naebyeonsan Mountain has ruins such as Silsangsa Temple Site and scenic sites such as Ulgeumbawi Rock, Seongye Falls, and Gamaso. The scenic beauty of Oebyeonsan Mountain mainly consists of coastal scenery, such as sea cliffs on the rocky coast and white sand and blue pine trees on the sandy coast. There are two scenic spots on the coast of Gyeokpo-ri in Byeonsan-myeon, Chaeseokgang and Jeokbyeokgang.

One of my new favorite places in Korea. I love the ocean and mountains together. I went in the winter and hope to go again in another season or every season. It’s better to have a car for this park but buses are possible but it just means you have to know the schedule and go the buses speed.

This place is amazing. It is perfect for hiking. There are waterfalls, river, small hills, and a lot of trees. You will feel embraced by nature here. A must-see place if you visit Jeollabuk-do province.

Byeonsanbando National Park is characterized by the appearance of numerous peaks between 300m and 500m interconnected rather than the main peak. Buan National Geopark is a place where mountains and the sea come together, and the entire mountain is made of volcanic rock thousands of years ago, and its strangely shaped rocks have been added to the title of Buan National Geopark. The beauty of the beach and the natural environment of the two faces of the mudflat and the sea, showing the harmony of nature, are the representative tourist resources of Buan, which has established itself as the only national park in Korea.
