The major landmark of Vayalar is the "Raktha Sakshi Mandapam". It is a memorial to the hundreds who died fighting against the rule Divan of Travancore Sir C.P. Ramaswami Iyer in 1946. The revolt was orchestrated by the communist party. Kunthrisseril Kumara Panicker (Vayalar Stalin), Kunthrisseril C. Velayudan (Vayalar Mooppan), V. S. Achuthanandan, the ex Chief Minister of Kerala were few among many lead the revolt and faced the punishments. Many members of the Kunthrisseril family were killed or arrested during and after the Vayalar revolt. The revolters were armed with nothing more than wooden spears and were overpowered by gun wielding police of erstwhile Travancore State. The incident took place on 10th of month of thulaam according to Malayalam calendar. Even to this day 'Thulam pathu' (10th of Thulam) is observed solemnly.

Vayalar Rakthasakshi Mandapam is a beautifully designed auditorium located in the heart of Vayalar, Kerala. I recently had the opportunity to attend an event at this venue and was truly impressed by its architecture, facilities, and management. The first thing that caught my attention was the stunning exterior of the building. It has a traditional Kerala style design, with intricate woodwork and a sloping roof. The surroundings are well-maintained, with lush green lawns and beautiful landscaping. The whole ambience is very calming and serene, making it a perfect place for hosting events. Upon entering the auditorium, I was greeted with a spacious, well-lit foyer. The interiors are aesthetically pleasing, with a perfect blend of modern and traditional elements. The seating arrangement was comfortable and the stage was well-equipped with all the necessary equipment for audio-visual presentations. The acoustics were excellent, ensuring that the sound was crystal clear throughout the event. The venue also boasts of excellent facilities for event management. There are multiple dressing rooms for performers, which were clean and well-maintained. The staff members were very helpful and professional, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. There were also ample parking spaces for the convenience of attendees. The management at Vayalar Rakthasakshi Mandapam was top-notch. From the booking process to the actual event, they were highly responsive and accommodating. They understood the specific requirements of our event and provided us with all the necessary support. The event was executed flawlessly, thanks to their expertise and attention to detail. Overall, Vayalar Rakthasakshi Mandapam is a wonderful venue for hosting events. The monument here is in the memory of hundreds who sacrificed their lives in 1946 against the Divan rule. The only weapon they had was the spears made out of areca palm to fight with the rifle laden Travancore Police. Eventually hundreds of men were killed in the shoot out, but their fighting spirit couldnt be put off. They still live in our hearts. This place can be reached from Vayalar junction if you are coming from Ernakulam or 1.4 kms North of Manorama Jn. in Cherthala town.
