is

considered

water
bodies

Early

had
constructed
a
channel
from
Vaigai
to
provide
water
to
this
tank.

tank
have

drived
up

out
any
water.

(2018)the
rains
and
Vaigai
river
are
filled
with
water
that
is
being
opened
from
Periyar
Dam.
A
check
dam
will
be
constructed
on
the
Vaigai
reservoir
at
the
cost
of
£22
crore
to
supply
direct
water
to
the
tank.
A
Sum
of
£36lakh
has
been
set
aside
to
repair
three
regulators
and
one
sluice.
There
is
a
proposal
to
construct
a
check
dam
across
the
Vaigai
at
Kodimangalam
if
this
proposal
is
implemented
the
tank
will
have
water
round_
the
year,
thereby
catering
to
the
drinking
water
need
of
S.S
colony,
Palanganatham,
T.V.S
Nsgar,
Achampathu
and
ponmeni
areas.
