Its beautiful and serene but the littering hurts me. This is a beautiful place but is ruined by the littering by my fellow Indians.

I always wanted to come here... belonging from the kumaon region, I knew that sattal is one of the lesser known lakes in kumaon because nainital and bhimtal take all the limelight...but I think it's for the best. The main lake is where I tried kayaking for the first time, it was so much fun... people were doing zipping and having fun with their family and loved ones..it is a freshwater lake of utmost importance to the biodiversity of this region and I hope overexpliotation of the lake area doesn't harm the biome.

The lake near Bhimtal is amazing! The water is very clean, and there are no bad smells. It's surrounded by big mountains, making it a great place to relax and enjoy nature. You should definitely visit if you want a peaceful and beautiful experience. Parking is availble. Entry charge - 60/- Washroom is availble. Charges 10/- per pee. Boating is little expensive here as there is not regulatory body.

If I were Sharlock Holmes I will surely spent some sleepless nights to figure out the mysterious interconnection between seven small freshwater lakes to form the mammoth SATTAL .....my all time favourite. Though I was unable to segregate the seven lakes, my findings are of no less important .....SATTAL is surrounded by Seven small hills.👍👌🎯 But what is of more importance is the fact...it is the only lake in whole Nainital which is less commercialized, more natural, most calm and serene and above all, still there is the joy of finding something new, something magnanimous, something magical. You can try zip lining, boating, kayaking and other sports activities at dirt cheap prices. Parking is easily available near the lake. One can easily spend a good 2-3 hours here.

I think out of the lakes that I visited - Sattal is my favorite. Located in the lap of nature, in absolute middle of forests, it's a magical experience to be here. We did the long boat ride. The person who was rowing the boat had been doing this for past 20 years - he had so many tales to share that included movies being shot here, or wild animals being regular visitors. The lake was humongous, super clean and a wonder in itself. I couldn't get enough of it.

Another great experience!!! Great place to be close to nature. Whole place is surrounded by trees and the vibe very natural as it is not that much crowded and not having building structures. This place is perfect for family fun activities as there are several activities that you can do like : 1. Boating. 2. Somewhat like rafting. 3. Ropeway activity. Some points you have to take care about before going to this place : 1. If you are local then it okay but not then at the on season time the traffic is very high due to which you could got stuck in traffic for about 3 to 4 hours. 2. Road is not that much wide, so make sure that you came with bike if you stay here for 2 to 3 days, it's more comfortable 😉. And the main thing please don't throw any garbage here and there, the nature is for us and we have to take care of it. Very nice place to spend your weekend right in the beautiful valley ❤️ Tourists can enjoy boating, kayaking🚣, bird watching and fishing during their visit here.🏊 Hills around Sattal are ideal for activities like trekking🏃, rappelling, mountain biking🚴 and rock climbing.🧗 One can go and see the Butterfly museum in the town. There are many tour and adventure activities operators around the lake. The weather is mostly very plesent. Good place for a family trip.

This is one of the best lake I guess in the Nainital area. Given its scenic beauty and surrounded calmness I loved the place. Enjoyed kayaking and adventurous sports here. One of my most grateful experiences was visiting sattal lake .it is so cheap when you visit in out session and you can bargain . Awesome and peaceful place...I would prefer if you are visiting nainital.. Instead of doing boating and other activities in naini lake you should do it at this place..because it is much more peaceful and beautiful than naini lake. Per couple cost - 300 for covering three lakes ram,laxman,sita lake if you want to cover all the seven lakes(sattal) then you will have to pay between 700-800rs for 4 persons in a single boat.

Best to visit at midnight and drive around the dark...had seen a barasingha...it was mesmerising...bit yes it's dangerous too...so take care...but over all experience of kayaking and zip lining and ropeway crossing made it awesome...ducks on the way do quake your way...also multiple eateries at sattal lake...so enjoy the view and enjoy the food

Absolutely loved visiting here. We reached just around 9 am so It wasn't so crowded and could enjoy boating ride peacefully and had the whole place to ourselves which was a bliss with birds chirping and peaceful sound of water. Also we had bargained with the boat wala as he wasn't letting us lower the price so he instead increased the time and we could enjoy more part of the view. Definitely visit here. It's on the way from bhimtal to nainital.

Lake is beautiful and serene. We went there in not peak timing. So we got to enjoy peacefulness and calmness of the environment. Nature is very beautiful around the lake. Waters are very cold and clean Sellers are real pain but there services are good though. We enjoyed rajma chawal and coffee. We tried Kayak boating and had a fight among ourselves because this sport is exactly not for girls. She kept rowing in one direction and I kept yelling right, left, left right and she went circular. However we somehow managed return the boat in one piece and ofcourse in time. Lake is little quite that day and we were not in a mood for exploration as explained above.

Can't express the beauty of place ...completely in lap of nature between forests...I visited this place when it was not the tourist season...boat ride available ..I also took a boat ride captured the moment ...The guide told me that there is natural waterfall called Subhash Dhara nearby but since there were not too many tourists hence I cancelled my plan

Sattal or Sat Tal is an interconnected group of seven freshwater lakes situated in the Lower Himalayan Range near Bhimtal, a town of the Nainital district in Uttarakhand, India. During the British Raj, the area had a tea plantation, one of four in the Kumaon area at that time......!!!!!!

The road is quite good and gives you good experience of motorcycling. So if weather is favourable its better to rent a motorcycle and visit here.

Sat tal is one of the best lake in Nainital located around 8 km away from Bhowali. You can have good breakfast and lunch. You can also do river crossing, boating and bike riding.

Nothing less than a divine charm!!! I wanted to do a trek ... Which should not be too difficult ...or too easy- and should ñot be completely devoid of human civilization nor with the presence of too many humans...SATTAL just fit in my criteria. It's so easy that even family along with children were doing it-- it was so difficult that a man in his early 30s (me)had to stop now and then for energy drink. Neither we could smoothly walk up nor we were stopping. IN SIMPLE WORDS, THIS TRACK HAS THE QUAINT SENSE OF SOMETHING UNKNOWN OR MYSTIC. In our way we came across melodies of different birds - very close but never observed.we also came across some human abodes-(very few that's why seemed exotic and supportive). Some animals , lots of fields, lots of small-bigs water springs and lush green nature as young and vivid as beautiful bride full of mysterious exuberance. The thrill reached its zenith when we saw some students in a school -- come on- A SCHOOL WHILE DOING A TREK!!! The teacher was late but students were not(an all pervasive irony of our country) so we sneaked into the building spent some quality time with kids and even played. WHAT A SHEER JOY THEY FELT when we offered them some packets of biscuits and candies.(simple and basic things mean a lot for them). Then we photographed and headed on towards top. The greenery was breath-taking specially when all other nearby high mountains were looking parallel to us. Actually as the name suggests, SATTAL is a place of seven lakes. If you are visiting Gangotri or hasril,you must take SATTAL trek, you won't regret.

One of the best place in Uttarakhand for bird and nature lovers. The Chai wala shot immediately after entering the parking ticket counter is amazing. His service is really good. Always treats with smile on his face. KNVN is best place to stay for birders. You can walk till the studio (know as hub of birds) There is also a natural water fall. Just ata distance of 2 km walk towards left side of the forest.
