It's a lazy Sunday, we wanted to do a quick road trip from Los Baños and remembered this place I saw probably in FB ads. I started asking questions in their messenger, and got immediate responses. I discovered later on that the co-owner attends to the questions via chat, we met her when we were there. Going there, maps or Waze is a good guide as a start but better follow the guide on their FB page. The most crucial is the left turn on the tourism office fork. The signage is on the right side of the road, it can easily be missed. From that turn, we were driving slow and finally saw some clues. Aside from the parked cars on the left side of the road, some signages are there but I guess the recent heavy rains damaged them. There's a concrete pathway on the right, should only take less than 5 min walk. It was a nice walk, with a cool breeze, and a nice view. We were the fourth table when we got there. Unfortunately, we had to wait for an hour and a half for our food to be served. While waiting, you can roam around the area, there's a 2nd floor with a 360° view of the mountains and farm. An ATV can be rented as well. Some reminders to future guests and something to consider for the owners: - Careful with the narrow roads and surprise one-way roads in Liliw 😅 - Although we didn't have a hard time finding the place, I hope the signages can be fixed - The area has a weak network signal for Globe and Smart. You need to walk around to find a signal. Wifi is not available as well. And since there's a weak signal, cashless payment might not be an option - I would love to call the crew by their names, perhaps they can have name tags - The food was great but not everyone can wait. It was a long wait for us. I think quick snacks can be served (chips, bread, peanuts?) - For waiting guests, maybe board games, books can be provided. The place also has a display of vintage stuff like old cameras and phone. - It was raining when we checked out, careful with the pathway, some parts of it can be flooded Overall, I liked the experience, it's something I would recommend to my friends and would visit again. But please don't come here hungry. The place is relaxing, very nice view, even the drive was scenic via Nagcarlan. We also liked the food. I find the pricing cheap actually for its quality. Now I'm interested how cold the place gets towards the end of the year.

A very memorable trip that's well worth the time spent on the road. The Rustic Bistro is a secluded treasure within the confines of Mt. Banahaw. For first timers, you might want to use Waze to get there. The place is another 6 kms. from the Liliw town proper going up the foot of the mountain. You know you're near once your ears start popping due to the elevation. Be mindful to look to your left as the sign is quite easy to miss. Once you've taken a left and driving along for a few minutes, you'll see different crops planted on the hills and it's a sight to behold. There are the sporadic vegetable stations on the side of the road which indicates you are near. When I say near, you're near the entrance/footpath going to the bistro. It's another roughly 400 meter walk up the path so be prepared for a little bit of exercise. The view going up is breathtaking! The bistro is a simple structure with a homey vibe to it. I suggest to come in early, bring a book and stay a while. Even on a hot summer day, the temperature is cool and the surrounding view is very beautiful. This is a very nice place to relax. The food was also great except for one. Top marks for the Neromezo which is something I would keep coming back for. The Butterbeer and the salad was also pleasant and great. Not so much for the roast beef though as I found it dry and not as tender as I wanted it to be. The gravy on it also didn't do much to boost the flavor. Overall, this is a trip up the mountain I will always treasure and keep coming back to. Places like these are worth a visit at least once in a lifetime. The experience may not be perfect but it's close enough.

It takes a 5 min scenic walk from the road to get here. You can see veggie plantations, Laguna de Bay, and Mts Banahaw and Cristobal and encounter beautiful flower plants. Really liked the ambiance and food presentation. Here are the items we ordered - Tomato soup: very good - Baked tomato pasta with seafood: good - Neromezo: black-crust pizza. Such a unique concept but needs improvement. The bread is quite tasteless and the filling is concentrated only in the middle. Even with the dip, it needs more flavor. - Strawberry iced tea: good as well Waiting time is too long (1 hour). Hope they can do something to serve the food quicker.

Must try! 5 mins of trail going to the dining place si definitely worth it. Seniors might not be able to walk/trail but they have a transport for them. Food taste great and affordable!

It was rainy when we went so it was cloudy. We got lost following google maps. It would have been easy though if the signs are bigger and more noticeable. Anyway, we found the place. It was beautiful. The food is amazing too. Despite being lost and had difficulty overcoming the steep mountain road using our motorcycle, the food is worthy. I love the boondock steak, the ribs, the steak and the PIZZA is epic! This place is a must try! The picture I have is the black bread with the 24 month old cheese. It is super yummy too!

After a tricycle ride and a short hike we finally find this out in wild place. Gorgeous scenery and beautiful surroundings. We get some cocktails, black bread, cheese and pickled vegetables, flavorful and we'll matched. Then the signature Boondocks ribeye, the banahaw ribs and the black stuffed pizza, delicious, rich and satisfying. We couldn't resist the dessert menu and we order both of them caramel and chocolate. The caramilyo is to die for, caramel and calamansi pair for perfection, especially if you drink a coffee with it. I can't recommend this place enough, call ahead, it get packed and they have a small staff so be sure to take time.

Very very good food made with love and care down to the tiniest detail and a lovely atmosphere both in the diner and the location. The staff is also the friendliest and the doggies are so sweet 💗

We were a group of 5 and a toddler when we came to this place after going to esmeris farm. It was a hot day, getting to this place will take 5 to 8 mins, so it will be inconvenient for people who don't want to walk on a hot sunny day. They don't have a parking space so we have to park our car at the side of the small road. When we reach the place, We ordered 5 different pasta dishes and chicken gobbets. Their pasta dishes tastes good, the texture is good too. My only concern was, the dishes were very very oily. I ordered spatzle for my daughter but it was hard and chewy with a lot, lot of cheese, very cheesy and oily, we didn't enjoy it. Their homemade bread is average. Their carbonara tastes good. They have dog roaming inside. We love pets, but since we have a toddler with us , it was a little bit of a concern. The place itself is good, not fancy but decent. Their toilet is good too.

The place itself is beautiful, calming, and well worth the trip if you want to take a break from city life. We went on Good Friday. The restaurant was almost fully booked but we managed to get seated in a few minutes. There were 20 of us, to be fair. The 3-star rating is mostly because of the time it took for our food to be served. 40 minutes to an hour was the average waiting time. We also had to follow up on some orders, as a result of food queueing and multiple guest servicing. There were only 2 servers then, as I recall. Nonetheless, most of the dishes were delectable.

Tucked away within the verdant expanse of a farm in Liliw, Laguna, Rustic Bistro is a hidden gem that takes a bit of an adventurous journey to reach. Leaving your car on the street, you embark on a 300+ meter stroll along a cemented footpath. Caution is recommended during rainy conditions as the uphill path can be slippery. The walk to the restaurant feels like a journey into a serene safari. The surrounding landscape is lush with trees, plants, and farm animals, offering an enchanting view that continues once you reach the restaurant. Rustic Bistro itself emanates a nostalgic aura, like an old log cabin with a touch of audiophile and photophile charm. From here, the breathtaking vistas of the hills and farms captivate your senses even before you delve into their menu. The menu is steeped in Italian tradition, with some dishes having Italian names that might be a bit challenging to remember. Our culinary journey began with a simple yet delightful queso and biscuit that teased our palates with a gentle taste. The tomato soup riddled with lentil beans followed, reminiscent of a lighter, pulpy and spaghetti-like. This was succeeded by the unexpected aglio alio with salmon, a dish we hadn't ordered, but turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The robust garlic and salty flavor of the pasta harmonized with the subtle taste of the salmon and olives. The restaurant's offerings of warm lemon and ginger refreshments proved to be a satisfying and healthy thirst quencher. Slightly on the sweet side, but more water balanced it out. The coffee earned high praises from my partner. Following this was the chicken dish, beautifully presented with a variety of sauces and accompanied by biscuits with dip. It had a hint of Korean BBQ in its flavor profile, which was a delightful twist. The final dish was the Geronimo, a ribeye steak (looked Tomahawk for us) that we had requested medium rare. Unfortunately, it arrived as medium well, making it a bit tougher to chew. Nonetheless, the simple, robust flavor of the steak was enjoyable. This dish could use a little fine-tuning to achieve perfection. Overall, Rustic Bistro in Liliw, Laguna is an enchanting destination that combines a rewarding journey, a captivating ambiance, and a diverse menu that intersperses familiar with unexpected flavors.
