The beach is about a 20-25 minute walk from the port - But it is uphill most of the way so I would recommend taking the bus if it’s too much. The beach is lovely, with coral very close, which is good for snorkelling. The views are Incredible. There’s a good amount of sand, but it’s all rock close to the water, so bring water sandals! We went in low season, so the shop wasn’t open.

The beach is amazing but don't go there when the weather is poor. I visited there during thunderstorms 😆 Also, there's an island to the right of the beach that you can walk across during the low tide!!

Beautiful beach. Limited swim area for snorkelling. Walk a few minutes south past the big rock to the next beach for larger coral reef access

The water was very clear and palyable with white sandy beach. I walked from village to the beach and it took about 20mins. The weather was hot to walk as it was in the middle of July, but for me it was doable. The beach has one shop rents parasol, sunbed, also swimming items. They sell drinks and snacks as well. Under water, coral was not planty but enough to enjoy. It seemed quite many of coral has died because of something -not pollution but climate change i assume-. Fishes were diverse, i think i saw over ten different fishes in the site, from small ones to arm long big ones. I enjoyed fun diving as the water is properly deep (like 4meters) once you go out 5 meters of shallow area from the beachside. Village bus is available for every 30mins. In the shop you can do coin shower with 300yen. I would back here to enjoy diving and swimming again.

Beautiful, secluded beach with gorgeous views and plenty of space. You can rent an umbrella and chairs. There are buoys to indicate the safe area for swimming and snorkeling. The cafe has rental snorkel gear as well as activities like banana boats and other high-speed fun water rides.

Great wee place. There are loungers and umbrellas for rent, a food stall and pretty good snorkelling. You have to stay within the boundaries to snorkel as they are trying to rebuild the reefs. Great for kids, crystal clear water, lots of fish.

The beach is super beautiful and have corals with many colorful fishes. Good to swim any time of the day (regardless tide). There is rental shop for swimming stuff and small cafe. The outdoor shower not available, indoor shower costs 300¥ per 3 min (the only small weak point for this beach).

I would love to stay here for a couple of days. The beach is amazing and it is easy to get to it. You can take the ferry (there are two-book in advance) from Naha and then the local bus. The bus fare is 300 yen and it is recommended to buy both tickets (to go and to return) from the machine inside the building that is ca 70m from the port, after the parking lot. If you don't want to take the bus then the Furuzamami beach is not that far if you enjoy walking. The way is a bit uphill but doable. At the beach there is a couple of shops and you can rent sunbeds, umbrellas and snorkeling equipment. There are lifeguards present and they are quite active. If you decide to visit this beach please respect the rules, don't damage the corals and don't litter. It is a paradise on Earth and we should keep it this way as long as we can!

Paradise! The beach was very beautiful! The amount of corals and colorful fish on the reef was breath taking! I even got a chance to see an octopus! This is my new happy place! There are some vendors who rent equipment and a food vendor. The ramen was pretty good there. You must remain on the beach and swimming area. They will turn you back if you walk too far or swim too far. Watch out for all the blueberry hermit crabs! Especially if you want to collect seashells. I will warn that there are sea snakes here so try to be careful and watch your surroundings, especially when the beach is isolated.

What can I say, this beach is absolutely beautiful and has so much going for it. The swimming area is rather small, but there is still great snorkeling! (Don't forget to go to Amuro island during low tide, but don't tell anyone I told you.

I arrived at a really nice beach in less than an hour from Naha. We recommend renting a bike to get around the island. Well, it was really beautiful. It was off season, so it was empty like a private beach.

Beautiful clear water, we went on a weekday and it wasn't very busy. The reefs are beautiful and you can see lots of different types of fish and hire snorkeling equipment and sun loungers at reasonable prices. Great option for a daytrip from Naha but I would recommend you spend at least a couple of days at Zamami

You will not regret this visit. Take the boat from the pier in Okinawa (book online). You can park in a garage right next to the pier. Get off the second stop of the fair. 1:30h approximately. Then you walk 15 min to the beach. Beautiful corals and clear water will await you. You can rent goggle’s and beach stuff for reasonable prices down at the beach. Everything was very clean too. Entrance is free

By far the best beach i have been too. The view is incredible, and it is very nice and clean. You can rent a mask and snorkel for 800 yen, definitely worth it. You can swim and look at the coral, and see all the fish too. It was shocking how many fish there were, and you can practically reach out and touch them.

Beautiful beach! We visited in February, which is definitely off season. The benefit was we basically had the whole beach to ourselves. Perfect beach to walk along, snorkel, and take a well deserved nap. We definitely will be back.

A beautiful beach with lovely sand and calm waters. You can only swim in a particular section of the sea and there are lifeguards to direct you. There are some chairs and umbrellas you can rent as well as a shop at the top of the beach you can rent snorkelling gear etc from. The local bus line (cost 300 yen) stops here so fairly easy to get to or about a 20 min walk from Zamami port. It wasn't as busy as I was expecting but maybe that was because it was Friday and not the weekend. Well worth a visit if on Zamami island

Wonder beach for snorkeling and diving. You can go a bit further into deep sea. I heard visitors were allowed to swim more further than now. Because of Coral’s 🪸 safety, the authorities made it limited. That’s good in a sense, isn’t it? However the people who are doing business at the beach are very welcoming and warm hearted.

Arguably the most beautiful beach in Japan. I’ve never seen water so beautiful anywhere else in this country.

Clear waters and beautiful beach with fishes, wonderful place! One of our regrets was not spending more time on the Zamami island! The beaches here are also better than the ones on Okinawa main island - easier to see fishes, water is calmer and clearer.

A really picturesque beach with turquoise blue water. My wife went snorkeling and said she felt like Ariel form The Little Mermaid because she was surrounded by dozens of colorful fish. A must visit if you go to Zamami Island :)

Amazing beach with not that may people (thanks coronavirus). The depth of water drops very quickly so you can see the big coral reefs in just a few seconds of swim. Lots of fish and beautiful corals. I didn't get to see any sea turtles though but the experience was still one of a kind, the underwater scenery is very different from many Caribbean beaches. The swimming area is still restricted as they're protecting the coral reefs. Highly recommend!
