Let me get straight to the point here. I've been to this place right after the other. It's just a week in between each other because I was amazed of the place and how the owner Jethro assisted us with our 1st visit. It is really great. Hence, I decided to go back at once disregarding how expensive it is. However, my excitement turns out to be such a disappointment in all aspects, literally. Don't get me wrong it's not about the place, the cost and even with the owner but rather with staff that took over that day because the owner isn't around. It was supposed to be a surprise but it's been a disaster in the end. I have given full instructions of what needs to be done. Yet, they can't follow a single bit of it. My partner and I almost had a misunderstanding of what's going on. Hence, I just blurted out what's my surprise was, because I got fed up already. Furthermore, I considered this place a so called fine dining. Yet, I find it too ridiculous for the staff to wear a see through top, knowing that she needs to lean through a small window. It's totally distracting or should I say disgusting to see her the whole time while she's preparing the food. If it's an artistic way to jive with the place, well I'm sorry but for me it isn't in any way. Next, food. After fixing the misunderstanding I had with my partner. We then asked for the food to be served, and there you go ANTS!!!! You can check it out, it's just a screenshot of my video. Honestly, it's not just few but tons of it, if I were to upload the video. I've almost lost my temper but thanks to my partner for calming me down. Seriously, ants?!!! So what we just did is to remove those parts that's covered with it. And just thought of how apologetic the owner was for the failure. I know you might still be asking me why I rated it as 4 stars. As I have said, the 1st experience was totally awesome, perfect and well done. Hence, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it's not because of the establishment but because of the lousy staff. Maybe, I will still go back or maybe not. It depends, because at times it is still freaking me out whenever I remember that moment. As it's my first time to put up a surprise but not really a good memory though. I hope they'll be able to read this and take it as constructive criticism to improve their service moving forward.

Interesting place: it is somewhere that the the adventurous or audacious traveler should visit during their visit to The Megalopolis that is Manila. With so much to do you, may have no idea what waits behind the doors. A mixture of elegance and new age aesthetic really tailor the atmosphere of VGiB (Van Gogh is Bipolar). With what many have referred to as a ritual in terms of how the food is consumed it almost feels theatrical. The area was clean, the people are welcoming, and price reflects all of these accommodations. Make reservations and bring that special someone who has always been described as an "eccentric" or an "artist", they will surely remember this experience for many years to come. For the traveler from far abroad this is an experience that really demonstrates the diversity of the Philippines and the rich and ever evolving (plus remediation) of the culture that can be experienced in only the Capital of such a diverse nation. In the words of Van Gogh himself "What would life be if we hadn't courage to attempt anything?" Be brave friends -- be brave and try this place out.

Food that touches your soul and becomes your body. The full VGIB experience is esoteric and ethereal at the same time. We were part of the first 8 customers to book The Tea Experience (3-5PM) and Signature Feast (6-9PM) as VGIB reopened it's (Narnia) door on Sep 22, 2022. The place welcomes you with new interiors and a new take on the evolution of Van Gogh is Bipolar from its old version to what it is now. What we had: Soothing Tea (with lemon and raw Serana honey), Light Chill Tea, with plate of sweets (truffles from Europe), Signature Feast. Upside: there is nothing like this place elsewhere in the world. I know most people won't pay this much for meals, but if you would like to experience shooters you've never had, made by an artist+chemist in front of you, and great healthy food that will fill you up without feeling bloated--we totally, highly recommend that you go. Max 8 pax for tea and dinner service. Come ready for a full sensory experience, not just mindless eating. The feasts are meant to heal your mood, especially created for whatever mood you're in. All food and beverages have been well thought out and curated, and come with a bit of education on the art and science of eating, on the power of food to heal our minds and bodies. Downside: price point but good value for money. Do not come to experience a typical dining experience. Leave all your expectations at the door and just allow conversations to flow, celebrate the human experience with the owner and with the company you're with. Be bold and dare to try everything. Definitely not for the picky and the faint of heart. Do we recommend this place? 1000% yes. Are we going back? Twice this month, and looking forward to the Love Project launch. Will definitely keep coming back.

You can expect a lot from this place. The food is so good even if the taste is unique. It's the best uniqueness food lovers would want to experience. The entrance was hard to find. We had to ask the security guard nearby. Even the restroom was very clean and surprisingly entertaining at the same time relaxing. We had the best time in this place and will definitely go back soon😊

A quaint little restaurant tucked away in a quiet street. Definitely worth a visit even if just for a unique experience not replicated anywhere else in the metro. You enter a darkish room with shelves full of curios and dried plants. There are just a few tables so reservation is a must. Once you're seated a hand washing ritual ensues followed by the 1st course of a soupy salad. Followed by a ritualistic serving of a raw egg with condiments and topped with Gallano liqueur. Then you get your main which in our case was a plate of salad, brown rice and herbed chicken (or beef strips). Followed by another ritual of serving absinthe with a chaser of rich chocolate topped with walnuts. Finally comes tea which you choose depending on your mood!

Definitely a unique experience. I appreciate the effort to bring the best of nature to the table... I recommend people trying it at least once... Food is just right in portions.

A place comfortable hidden along the Maginhawa food district, VGIB is a haven for anyone and everyone. They offer a one of a kind dining experience with food prepared depending on the chef's preference. It is a unique and beautiful place that one should definitely visit.

It really isn't a restaurant. It's a sanctuary. And it's best one reads up on the owners history to understand what this place is all about. But yes, they do serve food. And it's a very unique experience to eat there. We loved the entire his-tory, the uniqueness of the food and overall experience tremendously. πŸ‘πŸ»

Dining here is quite an experience like no other. From the entrance to the β€œsinful” dessert, it is definitely unique. The interiors were instagrammable and artistic. I personally love the vibe as every details seems to tell a story while sipping my tea. We enjoyed the freshness of the cuisine especially the fish and how we don’t know what will be served which is exciting. This is great with people who want something new and not picky eaters. Need reservations and only public parking available. Though, I feel like it is only good for one time experience only.

The dark room awaits withon the shadow. Excellent service to life, paoloβ€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’šIve been eyeing this place since long b4 the long close.. But i am happier than pharell that VGIB reopened and that i got to dine here with my wifey. There was an instance where i genuinely felt the love within VGIBs walls. That moment i felt i was at home. Cheers! Love is love

Lunch for 2 cost almost 4,000. It was a fun experience, despite the food being less than mediocre. The table side wait staff service was excellent. Hire a chef to write the menu and the place will be perfect.

Inhumane treatment of their servers. I was the only server who would still put up with them during the pandemic. The daily pay was only P250 for me, while their cook made a decent monthly salary. Meals were a part of the payment, but the cook decided not to cook my daily free meal because I was only one server and she felt like she shouldn't make an effort just for me. I reprimanded her several times and escalated it to the owners, but every single time, I would find out that there was no food for me and I would have to serve dinner on an empty stomach until midnight. The owners did not intervene because they didn't want the cook to feel that they were taking my side, as I am educated and she was working class. You may think it's all magical when you're in the dining room, but behind in the staff quarters is a completely different story. Jetro should be sued.
