The Giraffe Centre is an amazing place to interact with giraffes up close and personal. Tour guides are available to provide directions and general information. You are also provided with pellets which you can feed the giraffes (The guides advise that you feed one pellet at a time to avoid the giraffes making a frantic dash for all the pellets). There is an educational house where you can learn about giraffes and a little history about the giraffe Centre. There is a cafe and souvenir shop where you can pick up cute souvenirs. The Centre is also kid friendly, so you can bring your children along. It was a really nice experience.

This experience is perfect for all ages! The giraffes are so kind and very humorous. You will enjoy getting slimy warm tongues all over your hand, and the giraffes love posing for pictures! I would totally recommend this excursion.

This was a great experience and I am so happy that I went. I got in an Uber and did not do a tour. I just paid at the entrance. It was so much fun. A really fun way to spend an hour or so in Nairobi. My tip. Get there early morning

Loved the fact that there are guides present at all times because people tend to push limits with animals, the centre has well marked systems in place from entrance to exit and are very well organized. The giraffes are magestic and can be friendly once they warm up to you, you can also spot warthogs below I enjoyed my visit. Will definitely pay them a visit again.

The Giraffe Centre is located in Karen, just around 20 kilometers from the heart of Nairobi. This sanctuary offers a remarkable experience that revolves around the Rothschild giraffe, an endangered species. The venue is not just a tourist attraction but a hub for education and awareness about wildlife conservation. Pricing and Payments: Foreign adult visitors are charged 1,500 Kenya Shillings, while the fee for locals is 400 Shillings. The centre accepts various forms of payment including card, cash, and M-Pesa, making transactions convenient for everyone. Interactivity: One of the standout features is the opportunity to hand-feed the giraffes from a raised platform, providing an intimate experience with these majestic creatures. The staff hands out pellets to feed the giraffes, making this a hit among children and adults alike. Educational Value: Staff members are not just caretakers but also educators. They offer valuable information about the giraffes, their conservation status, and what measures are being taken to protect them. Nature Walk: Directly opposite the main centre is a nature trail that offers a guided or self-guided walk. This allows visitors to explore the indigenous plants, birds, and smaller mammals in a tranquil setting, enhancing the overall experience. Amenities: For those looking to take a piece of the experience home, there's a gift shop that offers a range of eco-friendly souvenirs crafted by local artisans. A restaurant on-site offers refreshments and meals, making it easy to spend a half-day without worrying about dining options. Overall Recommendation: The Giraffe Centre is highly recommended for any visitor to Nairobi. It manages to blend fun, education, and conservation into a single experience, delivering excellent value for the entrance fee. This place is not just a tourist attraction but an eye-opener that combines engagement with educational outreach. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone interested in responsible tourism and wildlife conservation.

This has to be on your bucket list and I hope you tick it off. I got to feed Betty, one of the Giraffes and I loved my experience whilst there. The staff right from the gate to the entrance are hospitable and professional. Feeding the giraffes was therapeutic. I love animals and I hope to go back to the Giraffe Center for a beautiful adventure.

Had a lovely time there. After paying the entry fee, we were given little bowels with feed for the giraffes. It was nice to get up close to giraffes. As an added surprise, some warthogs showed up.

What a lovely place! You can take some pellets and leaves and go on a bridge where the giraffes come to eat :) Sadly, it can take some time since the giraffes basically do this all day, and there’s also lots of people pushing in front to feed the giraffes, but being this close to the giraffes is a wonderful experience.

Come early to avoid the crowd. No need to book beforehand just turn up and pay by card at the counter. You have to wash your hands before feeding them. They are well taken care of and staff were very friendly. They also present an informative session about the giraffes which is interesting. A must do in Nairobi!!

It was an amazing place to visit, although not very big. It can take around an hour. The very best part is hand-feeding the giraffes, an amazing activity. There is also a small museum, in which we received a nice explanation.

I enjoyed feeding the giraffes and feeling their rough tongues. I also enjoyed the nature trail and the scenery is perfect for photos. I however feel that there should be more to do at the giraffe center. It felt insufficient.

If you LOVE giraffes this is a 5 star place. If you like giraffes, 4 stars. This is a giraffe center and nothing more. There is a snack shop, information area, and a remodel is occurring for same height viewing. Outside of that you feed the giraffes and can view the pricey giraffe hotel in the distance. It is worth a stop but don’t go in thinking anything beyond feeding giraffes.

A short tour, but we'll priced compared to other nature related activities in Nairobi! You get up close and personal with the giraffes and they have the freedom to come and go as they please. The staff were friendly, informative and always there when you needed but not in the way.

Get to feed the Giraffes whilst overlooking social media's famous "Giraffe Manor". You won't spend more than an hour here, have a coffee or tea and buy some gifts. After your session, go across the road to a hidden yet amazing forest with lots of hiking trails. You might bump into a Giraffe along your hiking trail (Thank me later)

In reality - is million people. But still you can make nice spot for a super quick, to have a nice picture. But I guess it’s all about your luck. Be patient and you can make some nice videos and pictures. Entrance fee is 10$. You can pay cash or card. Obviously here is a local currency. They do accepts dollars. However, they choose to follow their own rate. So better either change the money or you can pay with a card. The food to feed giraffe is for free. They will give it to you.

The Great thing about Giraffe center is this is a rescue and breeding place to preserve the Giraffes. They are not harmed or doing tricks for folks. You can feed them and caress them up close.

Our visit to the Giraffe center was so lovely, I wish I didn’t use a tour guide! They were just rip offs, it cost way less if you take a trip there yourself, perhaps using an Uber, then making payment yourself which cost 1500 ksh for a non resident visitor. But generally enjoyed feeding the Giraffes 🦒 and my kids did too.

I absolutely love the giraffe Centre. I took my clients there last Saturday and they absolutely loved it. Feeding the Giraffe's was the highlight of the day. It was a very short visit as the clients were on their way to Amboseli. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They understand the giraffes and they gave us tips on how to get cool shots with the giraffes. I do this trip so many times as I run a tour company but every time I visit, its absolutely an adventure!! Thank you Giraffe Centre!!

There's a bridge from which visitors vie for the giraffes' attention. If I were to do it again, I'd research the least busy time to visit so it'd be easier to interact with the animals (they'd be less intimidated by the crowd) and increase the chances of getting a better picture. You should also be aware that the giraffes are free to decide their level of interaction, so there's no guarantee they'll approach, although they're probably accustomed to human presence and are likely to be enticed by the free food pellets visitors are offered for this purpose. If I were the warthogs I'd probably be jealous of the giraffes which get all the attention.

I don't know... I feel like I expected more than. Just a walk around, seeing and feeding giraffes. Guides placed around the museum section with pictures and info would be great to better explain to visitors all the initiatives the organization is undertaking/has undertaken.

2nd time coming here, and the kids loved it. Feeding the giraffes is always a wonderful past time. They have time slots allocated throughout the day to allow social distancing, and this also gives enough time and space for gusts to feed the giraffes. Last time we were here, we really had to squeeze through a large crowd to get to take pictures. We were also allowed to have our picnic here and it was a wonderful experience.

It's not the best roundabout in Nairobi, but definitely worth the visit. Make sure you take a stroll around (that's what (a)roundabouts are for anyway. I would advise against using public transport or uber, traffic can be a somewhat arduous.

The nature trail is within the forest located in Karen and offers a relaxing walk with a view of vegetation throughout the nature trail, the waterfall, a cave one can easily enter, papyrus reeds, and multiple bamboo trees. There’s the option of camping in the designated campsites for those who would wish to do so. The walk is mostly gentle though the steep areas may be challenging therefore it would be preferable to have the appropriate shoes to conquer the trail. This would be a great place for a group of people (family, friends, etc.) to take a walk within Nairobi, have some moderate exercise, and bond in a serene environment. There is an entrance fee payable before accessing the trail.

You get to touch and feed giraffes. You could even kiss them if you like. There's a souvenir shop where you could get gifts for you and your loved ones. There's also s coffee shop just in case you need to rejuvenate. Just opposite the entrance to giraffe center, there's a gate that leads to the nature trail. It has nice ambience, cool spots for pictures and very educative since the trees are well labelled even in the local language. My friend and I paid 400kshs. Each. Don't forget to carry your Identification card.

It’s a small place, slightly overpriced but still it creates a fantastic experience. Expect maximum only 20 minutes in the place. Suggest to visit it together with other nearby attractions (mamba village, animal orphanage, botanic garden, massai market, etc.) The giraffes are so beautiful and their eyes are just magical. Be prepared to get lots of giraffe saliva as you feed them. It’s great to see they put the feeds on coconut shells - pretty environmentally friendly.

It's a nice place. For Non Kenyan residents, the entry fees is 696 Kenyan Shillings. At the entrance, they use to provide food of Giraffes in a coconut shell which we need to feed to Giraffes with our Hands. You can click pictures with Giraffes. It is really a fun place.

A lovely place to visit while in Nairobi. The place is family friendly and has ample parking space. They also have a restaurant and a small gift shop. Highly recommend the place for a day visit.

Not so cool with traffic being on its high. Mbagathi Road and Valley Road traverse Ngong Road at this point and I bet you understand what that means in traffic terms. However, there is a petrol/gas station some 200 meters along Valley Road... Your vehicle to stay roaring in the traffic get that engine refilled there. With the grass growing in this round about, nature gives you something to smile about.

A lovely experience feeding the Giraffes. They provide the food for free in bowl and the guide gives very good tips! You can voluntarily give a tip to the guide. It was a bit small and lots of construction was going on, so the experience was limited.

Giraffe center is a nice place to visit yes, it's affordable (Ksh400), you will be given pellets the giraffe can feed on from your hands, they are trained and you can touch them too, but it's a very short visit and they don't have any other activities rather than feeding and seeing the giraffe and in 30 minutes you are out. But scenery is good for pictures.

This place is a must in Kenya. The giraffes were gentle and feeding them was such a beautiful thing to experience. Shortly after walking in through the gate there is a stand with the food for the giraffes. The food is in a cute coconut shell and there is buckets throughout the centre to put the shells in when the food is done. The drive to the centre was a bit wild so definitely put on your seat belt. Parking was a bit difficult, not a lot of parking spaces available.

Amazing experience. There’s a gate fee which is separate for Kenyans and non-Kenyans (not much difference). Once you make payment and go through, you’re given the Giraffe’s food just incase you want to feed it. Lovely experience, totally enjoyed it!

It was a nice experience to feed the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. However, the experience was just about a few minutes long. They had a place where they gave us some history about the place. Also, what I liked is they had several places where we could wash our hands with soap, making the experience very hygienic too.

Beautiful, friendly giraffes. Knowledgeable guide by the name of Eric showed us around. Residents pay 400, non residents pay 1500 Kenyan shillings. Worth every penny. To protect the giraffes as well as yourself, use the available washing stations to wash your hands before and after feeding the giraffes.

A well maintained Giraffe centre by the management gives you a chance to get up and close to Giraffe family and feed them. But the key is to get there first up in the morning around 9 am so that you meet hungry Giraffes and they come close to you to get the feed, otherwise once they are full they roam in distance and not come close to you for feed. It's close to national park so plan your day accordingly and spend a good day in that part of Kenya which also houses the biggest slum of the world Kiera. Happy visit to Giraffes and surrounding. Cheers

Giraffe Centre offers a unique opportunity to interact with these majestic creatures. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the opportunity to hand-feed the giraffes. Towering above me, these graceful animals eagerly approached the feeding platform, their long necks gracefully reaching out to accept the pellets I offered. The sheer proximity to these gentle giants was awe-inspiring and allowed me to appreciate their beauty and elegance in an entirely new way.

A must-visit attraction for animal lovers and anyone looking for a good laugh. You can get up close and personal with these majestic creatures and even feed them from your hand! But be warned, they have quite the appetite and will try to steal your food if you're not careful. I had a hilarious time trying to fend off these friendly giants while taking selfies with them. The staff were incredibly friendly and informative.

A must see experience to enjoy a giraffe feeding. They are super cute although it's best to go early in the morning where there are less visitors as the more visitors there are, the less the giraffes become interested.

A great experience. The giraffe center was set up to help the less fortunate giraffes integrate back into the wild. The staff a very knowledgeable and can share so much information about the center and the individual giraffes. My only tip would be go early as it tends to get busy around lunch time and the average tourist is quite pushy. Worth a visit and you contribute to a good cause.

Not a bad place but I rated it 4 not 5 only because it's a very short visit. It's interesting to read about the programme, see the giraffes and feed them but apart from that a cafe and a shop there's nothing else to do so the visit can take up to an hour if you stretch it. Make sure to don't miss the nature trail opposite the entrance of the centre across the road. It's free and it's a very nice walk in nature with the chance of meeting wild giraffes and small animals. If you can add this place to another short visit cause it won't take a day to do both. Also it's very isolated so bring water and snacks with you or take advantage of the cafe inside but I don't know what's available and it might be expensive.

This place is absolutely amazing. I would highly suggest a visit when you visit Niarobi. It's very relaxing and the giraffes are beautiful. I would suggest going early in the day. Due to it being overcrowded and everyone trying to feed the animals. It's not expensive at all. The gift shop is very nice as well.

A great place to visit for up close giraffe encounters. Entry is $10 for non-residents and includes a bowl of pellets you can hand feed to giraffes. Crowds vary but it is a great place to get a photo with a giraffe while benefitting a good cause. The center also includes a small cafe and souvenir shop which has very affordably priced branded goods and wooden giraffes.

The Giraffe Center is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Nairobi. The information sessions are thorough and well presented but of course everyone is coming for the chance to feed the giraffes. You are instructed on proper technique to feed the giraffes and where to stand in order not to be on the receiving end of a head butt from a couple of the rowdier long neck pals. They’re such magnetic creatures and getting to be up close to them like this is an experience you won’t want to miss.

In this giraffe conservation park, you can see various types of giraffes, You can also collect feed from the conservation staff, feed giraffes, and there is a donation box for sponsorship funds You can also donate some funds to help with conservation activities. As a local guide, the most interesting thing is to let me experience the fun of feeding animals. The plan of this local guide allows me to introduce this conservation center so that everyone can visit here Learn the importance of animal conservation and have fun interacting with animals.

Great place to get up close and personal with giraffes. You are given a small bowl with some food and with two fingers you place the food on the giraffe's tongue. Sometimes one will lick up the whole bowl if your not watching closely.

It's small, but the experience of feeding the giraffes was excellent. The male giraffe is so calm, & a little cheeky. He put his head over my shoulder & while I was enjoying the big, he stole the pellets from my bowl!!! Great 2-3,hours. The beef burger I had wasn't very good, dry. The ground beef sandwich, my partner had was great.

Our experience at the giraffe center was amazing. Mourice was an very good guide. He told us a lot about the giraffes and the mission of the center. We also went on a walk in the trails where he explained to us all the proprieties of the plants and also a little bit of history about the creation of the center. It’s a 10$ very well invested. Even if I want on a safari, the experience at the center is not to same because you get to pet, fed and be very close to the beautiful giraffes. If you are in Nairobi, it’s a amazing day trip. It’s about 30 minutes drive from Nairobi center in a Uber.

(Translated by Google) Awesome place and very friendly staff. Entry for foreigners costs KSh 1,500, which may be a little expensive but definitely worth it. Payment due to covid only by bank cards, but when a problem arose due to the fact that I only had cash, the staff quickly found the person who paid for me, and I gave the cash. In the park itself, there are many giraffes (and if you are lucky you will see warthogs) which you can feed, very interesting animals. Food is given free of charge, upon request, the staff will photograph you or shoot a video. There is a mini museum and a playground to watch animals at the level of their heads. Getting there by bus is not difficult, there is a world-famous hotel with giraffes nearby, and a nursery for elephants nearby (it was closed due to quarantine).

A very nice place for family outing. You can chose from the safari walk where you walk around on suspended platform and watch animals from above, the orphanage, but here they have lions, lions and more lions in cages (I wish they had variety), or the gamepark where you drive and watch the animals (don't forget binoculars if you have one).but I love the days when they had variety of animals.

This is a one-place-see-all wildlife kind. You walk round and you get to see different wildlife in their habitats. Though the cheetahs, lions and other cat family members hide and camouflage themselves such that it becomes very difficult to identify them. You can also have photos taken at a small fee. I was taken one with a Maasai attire with a spear. I would recommend this place for a family day out. Charges range from 200-250 per resident.

Always a fun visit, the Safari Walk allows you to enjoy a jungle-like trek, mostly on an elevated boardwalk, through one side of the Nairobi National Park. Most of the big five can be seen, as well as several species of birds, monkeys, antelopes, hyenas, etc. Do pick a guide to take you through. Many animals have select hiding spots in the brush, and the guide will be very useful in pointing them out. Please do not litter! And do watch out for thieving baboons.

  • 4/5 Paul D. 3 years ago on Google
Nice walk through different landscapes in the outskirts of Nairobi in Karen. Various animals typical to Kenya and beyond are on display. The Cheetah's did not show up, though. In general a great experience but the park is a bit run down. It's a shame actually but give it a try.

  • 2/5 Gabriella D. 3 years ago on Google
It's a zoo with a little more space for animals than usual. Not much to see, monkeys and one lion were in cages (the lion was sick, poor thing), very lonely and sleepy. Price for non residents is insanely high (20 USD, or roughly 2200 KES), considering what you get. It's a good way to support the wildlife service though, I guess.

It was a decent place to get out but it was 2,000 shillings (about $20 US) per adult so fairly expensive. It is like a zoo except there are wild monkeys and baboons that run around. I wouldn't go again just because of the price and I can go to a cheaper zoo back in the states.

The Giraffe Centre in Nairobi is made up of 2 segments-the giraffe interaction /feeding, and a beautiful nature trail that one can explore at their own leisure. The centre is a great way of making conservation and education accessible to help preserve, and continue to grow, the dwindling Rothschild species in Kenya. Highly recommend if you would like an up close view of these spectacular creatures and contribute toward community biodiversity education!

It's really a nature trail good even for biking And there's plenty of running water bathrooms and toilets

An amazing trail for some quiet reflective walk or noisy group bonding. Moderately easy terrain. Not much to see apart from a waterfall, papyrus reeds, bamboos, a cave and a few animals. However, the ambience and serenity is worth it if that's your thing. It would be a great spot for camping but the charges are quite high. That takes a star.

  • 5/5 Fade M. 3 years ago on Google
Ololua Nature trail is located in Karen,Nairobi. It's a beautiful forest with different species of trees, monkeys and nature trails that lead to a water fall. The place has a camp site and sitting facilities, they charge 200 Kenya shillings per person as the entrance fee.

  • 3/5 Jane K. 3 years ago on Google
This nature trail is excellent and my friends and I enjoyed the cool and fresh air there. They have indigenous trees and ground is covered with bushes. Walking tracks are 80% in the shade which makes one comfortable. There's a river along the paths that makes the atmosphere very pleasant. One will find a big cave, waterfalls, picnic sites, watch tower, swamps and more. We got a bit disappointed the 1st and 2nd times we visited and they could not provide a guide for us. We ended up going round, repeating some areas and missing out in others. Security seemed ok and there's a hand washing facility at the gate.

Samburu National Reserve can be entered via the Ngare Mare and Buffalo Springs gates. Once inside the reserve, there are two mountains visible: Koitogor and Ololokwe. Samburu National Reserve is very peaceful and attracts animals because of the river (with "brown water") that runs through it and the mixture of forest, thorn trees and  grass vegetation. The natural serenity that is evident here is due to its distance from industry and the inaccessibility of the reserve for many years. This place is very far from Nairobi and it had taken almost 8 hours by road. Make sure you travel during the day so that you get a glimpse of Delmonte Farms. Unlike, Nairobi and surrounding places, the day time temperatures were higher in this region. Make sure you spend good amount of time with locals and enjoy Camel rides, a good long walk thru the reserve and so on.

  • 3/5 Nirmal K. 3 years ago on Google
The roads inside are definitely not perfect, try avoiding to go during rainy season as this will majorly affect your chances of spotting the big 5, the muddy roads may bring your trip to a halt and definitely not recommending a visit with a saloon, the roads are bumpy and brace yourself for neck pain and back pain. As the bridge has collapsed its not possible to go to buffalo springs from samburu national park and vice versa, instead you will have to exit samburu from the Archer's Gate and head back towards main road and enter buffalo springs after approximately 20km ride and vice versa. Definitely not recommending a day trip as it might get very difficult to spot the cats, during our visit we didn't spot a single big Cat and all we spotted was giraffes and elephants. Having a guide would be better as he would know certain locations where you are most likely to find the Lions , Cheetah and Leopard. A one time visit is good but definitely do not expect activities such as hunting.

One of the greatest parks in Kenya. Dusty and dry. Great landscapes. Lush vegetation. High concentration of fauna (grevy zebras, reticulated giraffes, elephants, birds, hippos, crocodiles, leopards, lions...). I recommend neighboring parks (which are included in Samburu park fees) : Buffalo Springs with much more flat savanna and Shaba with gorgeous landscapes. I've camped on public campsites and in private tented camps which were great but at very different price points! Don't forget your bathing suit. My top 3 in Kenya.

Its a nice place for anyone who is a giraffe lover or anyone who's never been up close to them. You are given some pebbles like things to feed the giraffe. Awesome place to take your kids but not much variety of animals I only saw a warthog haha but hey if you want to be close enough to smell a giraffe then this is you place

  • 4/5 JoeNancy M. 1 year ago on Google
A good place to see and learn about the Rothschild Giraffe. It's one the 3 species found in Kenya. For best experience visit the place off peak times (usually before noon). The giraffes are not very many and at times they tend to move away from the feeding platform. During peak(1-3pm) times you may have to wait a bit for your turn to feed the giraffes.

  • 5/5 Rachel D. 1 year ago on Google
What a great place to learn about the Giraffes and the good work they do for them. Kennedy was an excellent guide. We loved getting up close with the giraffes and feeding them. Also spotting the warthogs! Highly recommend going there.

What wonderfulness this place is to teach and learn about these gracefully stunning animals. They had ten fine Giraffes who all seemed very happy to munch half a coconuts feed from our hands. Breeding and maintaining a small herd in great facilities. Lovely shop too full of things, including one of the best chess sets I've ever seen. Come here and get up close to some charming gentle giants. Look out for the warthogs, too! If you are into sustainable biodiversity and conservation, then you must visit.

When it comes to unique and exhilarating experiences, few can rival a visit to the Giraffe Center. Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes, this conservation sanctuary in Nairobi, Kenya, offers an extraordinary opportunity to interact with one of nature's most majestic creatures – the giraffe. I recently had the pleasure of embarking on this wild adventure, and I must say, it was an absolute delight

This is a nice place located at the edge of the Nairobi. The place is a bit far and it takes around 40 minutes to get there. The place has a display of the history of the centre and has some exhibits. There are also large jigsaws of giraffes for young explorers. The main activity is to feed the giraffes. The place takes care of hygiene of animals and humans alike. 30-45 minutes is the recommended time to stay. There is also a small restaurant and a souvenir shop here. Recommended to visit

  • 5/5 Naile R. 9 months ago on Google
Super cute experience! It's definitely a quick activity as you get a limited amount of food and can run out very quickly. There are workers who explain all of the giraffes' personalities, which adds a great personal touch.

We came excited to feed and take photos with the giraffes. It was fun to feed them and take photos. A must see for kids and adults who love giraffes. There were baby giraffes too ! It doesn’t take more than half an hour to go through the park. There is a museum section that you can learn about the history of giraffe center. There is another raised boardwalk section that you can feed giraffes and take photos. The area has lots of security, is clean and well maintained. There is also a small stand to have food and drink when you are done. Multiple wash stations are available to wash your hands. There could be more improvements in terms of maybe having more activities for kids. Maybe a section to have a giraffe centered playground. As we were leaving we saw a trail that was open to the public across the center and we went it for about five minutes. We didn’t complete the trail though. We didn’t know how long it would take and there were no signs describing how long it would take.

It's fun to go for a while to see the giraffes and be able to feed them. They close at 5:00 p.m. it is better to go in the morning because the giraffes are hungrier even though they eat all day. the place is next to the giraffe hotel. the tickets are purchased in the same place before you enter

  • 3/5 Lily E. 8 months ago on Google
Giraffe center has a new look and it is fantastic. It feels like Nairobi safari walk. The area has been enlarged and it looks spacious. Before we could crowd in one spot but now the stretch is long and spacious. Weekends are very busy. Better go early to get a parking. Tourist pay 1500 shillings and locals pay 400 shillings. Honestly I think that does not make sense because if i am Kenyan and my kids hold a different passport, I the Kenyan will pay as they are not earning. I have not seen such a thing in western countries yet. Giraffe center‘s new look is very clean and it’s a plastic free environment. So many bottles were left at the entrance but sadly first stop is to wash your hands and use soap from a plastic bottle. Giraffe Betty is still looking pretty 🤩

  • 3/5 Caramel C. 8 months ago on Google
The front desk clerk was very rude. It was fun feeding the giraffes. However, they should consider including other exhibits. There were only 4 giraffes out for interaction, and that's it! There's no other activities after feeding the giraffes. Otherwise, it was a great experience. I wish they had more to do. They serve food & drinks, and have a gift shop to purchase memorabilia.

The Giraffe Centre in Kenya is a popular tourist attraction located in Nairobi. It is a conservation center and sanctuary for the endangered Rothschild's giraffe species. Here's an overview of what you can expect from a visit to the Giraffe Centre: Giraffe Interaction: One of the main highlights of visiting the Giraffe Centre is the opportunity to interact with the giraffes up close. The center allows visitors to feed the giraffes from a raised platform. You can get a chance to hand-feed them specially formulated giraffe food pellets while observing their majestic presence. Education and Conservation: The Giraffe Centre aims to educate the public about giraffes and their conservation. The center provides informative sessions and presentations about giraffes, their behavior, habitat, and the challenges they face in the wild. You can learn about the efforts taken to protect and preserve these beautiful creatures. Nature Trail: The Giraffe Centre features a nature trail that allows visitors to explore the surrounding area. You can take a leisurely walk through the lush greenery, spotting various bird species and other wildlife that inhabit the center. Souvenir Shop: The Giraffe Centre has a gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs related to giraffes and wildlife conservation. You can find items such as t-shirts, books, keychains, and other mementos to remember your visit. Information Centre: The center has an information center where you can gather more knowledge about giraffes, their biology, and the conservation efforts undertaken by the organization. The staff is usually available to answer any questions you may have. Accessibility: The Giraffe Centre is designed to be accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities. The raised platform allows for easy giraffe feeding, and the trails are generally well-maintained. Nearby Attractions: If you have more time, you may consider visiting other attractions near the Giraffe Centre, such as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage or the Nairobi National Park, which is home to various wildlife species. It's worth noting that individual experiences may vary depending on factors such as the time of visit, the behavior of the giraffes on that particular day, and the number of visitors present. Nonetheless, a visit to the Giraffe Centre offers a unique and memorable opportunity to interact with these magnificent creatures and learn about giraffe conservation efforts in Kenya.

Had a lovely day at the giraffe centre in Nairobi. They always make you feel at home here in Nairobi .. Security was easy to get through and they accept card payment at the entrance. They provide food for feeding giraffes when you enter and they also have a lovely tourist shop and coffee shop part of the centre. It’s also a home to warthogs .. The giraffes get up close and personal. I had a lovely day, thank you for all the work you do. Truly blessed.

This is such a unique experience and I highly recommend! The price was fair - $10 entrance fee, which gives you one small bowl of giraffe feed, but you aren’t allowed to buy more bowls without exiting and re-entering. They have adult and young giraffes who hangout by the feeding area and wait for people to give them food. The giraffes were so friendly and calm! Little kids were easily able to feed the giraffes too! I went on a Friday and it was quite busy with a few busses of students from schools, but I waited for them to clear out and then I got a giraffe to myself for a few minutes. Definitely worth the wait if you arrive at a busy time. They give a 10-15 minute presentation about giraffes, which I recommend. I learned so much about giraffes and warthogs!

The place is beautiful, well designed, with great space to view and feed the giraffe. I loved the idea of having good hand washing basins with running water, soap and paper towels. However the tour is too short one hour or less. Just walking to learn about giraffe and then feeding them that's it. I hope more activities will be introduced in the future. Waiting time depends on how long the que is. Sometime it takes less than a 2minutes.

  • 5/5 Mohammad S. 4 months ago on Google
