This is one of Nairobi's hidden restaurant gems. Its located in Karen on the other side of the road from Kenya School of Law. Fastest way by public transport is to take Naboka Sacco from BS. It's 80Ksh. Its inside a compound with a number of shops and you have to walk through the shops to get to it. So its hidden from view. Its such a wonderful chill spot though. It's an outdoors restaurant with very minimalist tables and chairs under a roof covering. There's a beautiful garden around the restaurant area and I loved taking some photos of the flowers. A great place to do a bit of a photo shoot or selfie shoot. They have very nice wait staff and the they have an interesting menu. Lots of interesting vegeterian options. I had a veggie burger and some sweet potato fries and very reasonably priced. Much cheaper than you think. I also had some mint tea in a whole pot and had about three cups of that at only 150Ksh. There were mostly Caucasian clients while I was there and maybe that's a reflection of the people who frequent the shops. The shops are also worth a look. Very interesting knick knacks.

This is quite a nice spot. We loved the atmosphere and play area for children. The service was good, but a bit slow because of how busy it was. We all enjoyed our food, but agreed that it could have been somewhat better given the prices. I will say that although I have had better burgers in Kenya, the self-serve salad bar was SUPERB (very high quality and tasty ingredients). I think this restaurant will appeal most to people who are vegan/vegetarian. Definitely worth a visit!

5 star for the food, location and ambiance. Very exquisite. The ultimate dining experience in a tranquil environment. Complements to Chef Geoffrey👌🏾 and the rest of the staff. Pants down the best halloumi wraps I've ever had and burgers. Love this particular location due to its intimacy with the staff and everyone. It's open space and very child friendly equipped with a children playground. The staff are so friendly and really helpful. Tin roof is proof of how to put a space into proper use. Afrocentric decor with a little touch of western design. Worth every single penny. Oh! And covid protocols are well observed. I totally recommend to anyone seeking quality time as they dine, whether an individual or a group. Can also be a very great location for working.

I can't believe me it took so long to find this hidden gem. Tin roof Cafe Langata is nestled in the heart of the boutique Langata Links gift and curio shops. The all outdoor design is tasteful, rustic and very telling of the menu and dining experience awaits you. They serve a modest but very adequate menu of healthy meals ranging from fresh seasonal salads to healthy sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and pizzets. What I like most about their menu is the individual twist they have added to create unique plates of food. My halloumi wrap for instance had the usual tortilla replaced with a much tastier local favourite "chapati". My son who is not a big eater loved the pasta commodore so much he had 3 servings even though he struggled with the last one. I have to mention that the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Special thanks to Geoffrey.

Tin Roof Cafe has changed, the attention to detail has deteriorated and nothing special about this place anymore.

The Tin Roof Cafe is an amazing little place in the heart of Karen Hardy. The food is really focused on a healthy style and really give you that feeling of home cooking.. it's delicious, wholesome and quite affordable. The only downside is the lack of tables during busy hours...

A gem in Karen. Loved the ambience and food quality was top. Good menu option. Mostly all natural and green based. Enough space for kids to enjoy. Enjoyed our food. Rating it 4/5 as found it pricey. The boutique has lovely options to offer as well.

The restaurant is fabulous ,good ambience and nice cuisine. It's has really improved from the former Ngong house though is has still retained the Tree houses which are now run by the owner.

among the best chain restaurant in Nairobi, with a variety of foods from local cuisine to English, the area has great views. cozy place for shoppers. The cafe offers a variety of salads which are the selling points for the restaurant. security is tight and safety is guaranteed for your belongings. the cafe runs from 8.00am to 5.30pm, the food is so sweet one can spend time there.

A place where you can enjoy your lunch or dinner alone or with family... very kids friendly! The food was great, tried the "wrap veg" and it was delicious with cassava crepe/pancake and the tumeric ginger drink 😊😋... Apart from food🙃, there are lot of art materials... can use the place for gifts shopping too! Try the place out, you may like it!

Terribly slow service. Waited almost two hours on a burger. Most other tables also waited 1 hour plus on their food. The burger was alright but would have tasted better if served within a decent timeframe. May have been a particularly difficult day for them but I would avoid going in lunch hours nonetheless.

Good ambience but the food so not worthy from the prices to the quality very poor and small quantities. The chicken was dry the beef was tough. Not impressed at all.

Nice place, good shopping for Knick knacks..also a decent play area for kids allows one some shopping time. Overall high score. Perhaps more varieties of salad with the dishes would be nice!

I loved the Halloumi wrap. Well pressed, right size. They serve fresh Juices as well. Great service. I liked the outdoor space. One can bring kids for a painting outing over the weekend.

A must visit place for a good breakfast or a late Sunday brunch Well encapsulated with several little shops selling handcrafted stuff, Tin Roof Cafe is a place being visited by a lot of white people staying in and around Karen. The place offers a good variety of juices, smoothies and eggs to order under breakfast and few but sumptuous lunch items. Smoked paprika chicken breast was quite soft and nice and so was fish pie which was served in a traditional remekin mould. The chips could have been more crisper and perhaps served tossed with some good dried herbs. Gluten free brownie is one of the best brownie I have ever had. Overall a great experience. *some minor changes to the dishes can really make them outstanding.

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of Karen Langata Links offices right opposite the Kenya school of law. The restaurant serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a sizable menu with clearly mentioned dietary restrictions. Though the prices are relatively high compared to the food portions. The place is also child friendly and also has a shopping area.

Lovely fresh food and specials always on offer, healthy drinks and coffees to choose from, we often stop for refreshments after having a look around Langata Links shop, only issue was last time we visited an order had been forgotten but can definitely still highly recommend the Tinroof Cafe.

Tin Roof Cafe and the Langata Links shop is a hidden gem. Located away from hustle and bustle, a cosy and well cared for spot. Very green, lots of beautiful flowers that attract unique birds. A lovely sight. It's a small cafe, surrounded by curio gift shops, with limited seating and a short and to the point menu. Comfortable seating arrangements, beautiful, refreshing ambience and delicious food. The server was welcoming and hospitable. Bonus points for all the picture perfect spots and kids playground.

We ordered the Haloumi avocado wrap. There were two thin slices of Haloumi, no avocado and it was tiny. All for 950/- kids ordered a kiddy pizza that wasn't enough either so we ordered another one for them. Nice ambiance but I won't be eating there again.

I like tin roof because they have delicious, simple, healthy and unique food unlike anywhere else. This Langata location looks inviting, cosy, and serene - but it's anything but peaceful. I don't know if it's because I came at a low peak hour (4 pm), but the employees were extremely noisy and unprofessional. Maybe the proximity of the cafe and the shops is to blame or maybe it's too many idle hands, but the employees yell to each other in conversation from one store to the next to those behind the cafe's counter. They treat this establishment like it's their hang out joint rather than place of work. It made my experience quite unpleasant and I wished the manager was there to maintain some order. I will have to try the new location for a hopefully better experience.

This branch is awesome and serene. There are books available to read and they also take book donations to further enrich their library. The service is really attentive and the food quality is top notch though a bit expensive. There’s a wide range of art pieces to buy from the various shops in this establishment.

GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS! GF Brownie is fantastic. I had the Casava Flour Crepe with cheese and herbs and paprika chicken. It was so so good! They have a salad bar with different options. Also so very tastey. You could just get salads if you wanted theyre are healthy and filling and so yummy. Boyfriend has a peanut allergy and was fine eating there. He had the Chicken Mayo Avo Panini and it wasnt really that great— i think it was the sauce, tasted weird. Area is nice and peaceful and servers are sweet. It is at the back of a boutique so theres nice perusing to do before or after.
