This area of Ongata Rongai border's Karen via Mbagathi River boundary and once belonged to the great and famous Mbari ya Gitau or Gitau family . Two decades ago it was a forested area sparsely populated and one could birdwatch or see the occasional gazelle or wild rabbit. Land demarcation and sales has happened in a huge way and the area is now a busy built up area mostly catering for students via four and five storey hostels. Mayor road itself needs to be tarmacked or well graded to suit the growing population. Security also needs to be beefed up as well as other concomitant infrastructure.

On my way to Maasai Mall to do some bit of shopping at Unique supermarket. Unique has some of the most unique prices around on some of the items - a little discounted here and there. Not so bad if you're looking for some pocket friendly purchases. Definitely worth a try.
