Love the experience. Being able to walk around the animals is such a unique feeling and can be even better than safari to certain extent. The selection of animals are not wide, but it’s almost guaranteed that you will see them all since the island is not huge. Gazelle, waterbuck, zebra, wildebeest, lots of birds, and finally, six magnificent giraffes! The boat ride is also a nice part of the journey and there are several hippo families!

Initially we did not include Crescent Island in our agenda because we were not fully convinced, after visiting the Island I can assure you it totally worth the visit, the experience of walking along the animals in freedom is amazing and so relaxing and you will not experience it somewhere else, this is the gem of this park. The experience begins from the boat we had the chance to see eagles, Hippos (the unrecognized one of the Big 5), the fresh wind blowing in your hair while going towards the island. Once you arrived and you paid the access is your free will how you manage your visit. Just 10 minutes and we met a couple of giraffes one as even sat down resting, we were able to approach as close as 5 meters. The flowers are also present to enjoy during your journey, monkeys, zebras, antelopes you name it. We spent 2 hours in the island before we left to continue out trip next stop was Nakuru Lake.

Totally was down to go walk with animals. Highly recommend this for couples you can even stop for a picnic. Beautiful scenery my gooosh. You use a boat from the shore to get there and pay 800/= for Kenyans. No cars so carry sporty shoes, and make sure you go to the museum.

Going for a guided nature walk and being so close to the wild animals was an experience I really enjoyed. Cresent is as a result of reduced water levels in L. Naivasha and you can only guess that the place is only accessible by boat. It is approximately a 10 min boat ride from the shores. One will not miss to see the variety of birds and very large hippos. The entrance ticket rates are quiet affordable and also doesn't take a lot of time to queue. There is a toilet on site though near the game sanctuary entrance. The walk is a bit long and it is advised to wear comfortable hiking shoes plus carry some drinking water. There are currently no carnivores on the island thus the freedom to walk so close to the animals. It is definitely a place worth visiting 💯💯❤️.

Great walking safari experience. You have to negotiate for the boat trip price as they try to rip you off but it’s worth doing to see the hippos. Once you get to the island you’re guaranteed to see a lot of animals and the walk around takes about 1.5 hours

I want to visit here again with my parents. You can see animals just next to you while walking, take a boat tour, and see hippos and different kinds of birds including pelicans. It a beautiful island!! You can come with your own vehicle and pay for its entrance fee.

The island itself is very beautiful, and there are some animals there, but less than during a game drive. On the other hand, you can walk all the time, so it's a nice change if you're all the time in a vehicle for safari. I would have liked to see a better pathway to the boat, especially since I was traveling with my mother who has back issues and was afraid of slipping and hurting herself (and your shoes and pants will get terribly dirty, as well). Even though this was included on our ClubMed tour (we had it in writing), our local guide said we had to pay in cash 2000 Schillings per person for the boat and give an extra tip to the guide on the island...

Access to the island by boat only. The kind guardian guy and pretty receptionist awaiting us on the island. Their tourist friendliness is the real draw. Nothing beats the experience of seeing wild giraffes, deers, zebras, and wildebeests in real life in nature while walking around. I heard of the number of visitors per day, 100 on weekends, 10-20 on weekdays, which is not too much, making it calmer and more attractive than expected.

The perfect Safari walk with animals close by. Remember to carry plenty of drinking water. Or just an empty bottle and fetch the fresh water from Lake Naivasha on your way there.😊

You get to experience walking amongst the animals, mostly herbivores. On the way to the island, you get to see some of Africa's most majestic birds on a boat. This was my first time on any island, and it has been an incredible experience. Our tour guide was a member of the Maasai people from Samburu. Got to hear some amazing Maasai stories. Simply incredible.

An unique place where you can walk with wild animals. However heafty fee of 1000 for resident is too high. We had gone a bit with our vehicle by paying 300 & seen the surroundings. Lake Naivasa is beautiful & a lot of antelopes, zebra, ziraffes & birds can be seen on the island. Full day tour recommended.

You get to roam around with the animals. You can walk across the length of the island and back in about 2 hrs. The natural beauty of the pack is second to none and it is packed with impalas, water bucks, zebras, monkeys, giraffes, wildebeests and others. Entrance fee to the park is 800/= per head and 300/= for every vehicle. However, you can't drive within the park. Definitely a must visit for every nature lover!

Positively the best day trip from Nairobi. I took the boat safari to Crescent Island with a ecology guide as well as a boat guide. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking to get off of the trail and explore the real Kenya.

Wow. This was simply breathtaking. It’s one thing to be in a big vehicle and see animals but it’s such an immersive experience to be walking with the animals and getting really close. Wow! We’ve never been so close to wild zebras and giraffes. Thank you so much for this opportunity. If you happen to be close, do that trip. We almost skipped it because a simple boat tour on a lake really didn’t sound that inspiring.

Beautiful green space to walk around and it's an incredible feeling walking next to the animals (giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, antelope). We drove to the island and spent about 2 hours walking around. The price is 300/- for the car and 800/- per person (residents or $30 non-resident).

It's a sanctuary where you go for a nature walk and walking safari. Anymals roam around close to you. Have comfortable shoes and time to go through the island. It is peaceful and fun to go as a group. You will need time in case you have guys who get tired easily when walking.

Nice place for walking safari. It's wonderful experience to wander around the peninsula safely and comfortably. Be aware of some cheating guides, boats leading you to another place and still charging you the entrance fee. Google map is the good app help you to know where are you going.

Very peaceful place, I was luck that the day I visited Crescent island I was almost alone,I had all the time to enjoy, observe the animals and relax. At one point one security man joined me and accompanied me to se where giraffes where eating and resting. He told me the names of some flowers birds and stories about the animals on the island.i used the suggested boat trip "Stanley" i contacted him and the service provided was excellent, clean boat, lifejacket, the boat driver waited patiently for me and on the way back we went to see the hyppos sleeping.excellent service no surprise, price as in the description.

Very unique and special, but because of the price of 33$ for foreigners to enter, there is not much different from doing a walking Safari in the Sanctuary farm nearby for less than a third of the pfice

I spent my Christmas here with the animals,The island is only accessible with a boat, then enjoy a walk as you see the animals, there are waterbucks, Impalas, giraffes, zebras, wildbeasts , gazelles,a variety of birds to watch, the hippos and we also got a chance to scatter acacia seeds in a bid to preserve the acacia trees.

Was going to spend two hours here but ended up doing 4 hours. No longer an island due to water levels at Lake Naivasha decreasing so one can drive there. Beautiful views of the lake and greenery. Was super excited to come across the giraffes. Downside, I asked for a guide but didn't get one. The Asian family that got in before my friend and I, got two. The drive to and fro the island is beautiful. Will try a boat ride to the island next time I'm there.
