Lake Naivasha is home to many animals and different species of birds. It is a birders dream with around 400 species of birds such as the African Fish Eagle, Saddle billed Stork, Jacana, Greater and Lesser Flamingoโ€™s, Laughing Dove, Dideric Cuckoo, Eurasian Nightjar, Hadada Ibis and the Gray Crowned Crane to name but a few. Zebra, Giraffe, Antelope, Water Buffalo, Warthog, Monkeys and the Hippopotamus are also found here. Canoeing around the lake is a great way to see the wildlife. The lake is almost 13kms across and is part of the Great Rift Valley. The late Joy Adamson who was the author of Born Free lived in Elsamere Lodge located on the banks of the lake. The Fishermen here at Lake Naivasha use handmade boats and fishing nets and mainly fish for Carp. There are many different tree species and flowering plants surrounding the lake in this rich eco system. Papyrus are important to the lake as it filters sediment and adds nutrients so play a key role in the eco system of the lake, This area is famous for growing roses in big greenhouses for the overseas market. Itโ€™s a great place to go for nice walks, see plenty of nature and to see beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Early humans came from this area. Human teeth have been found on an archeological site in the Naivasha area dating back 250,000 years. Only 35 kilometres away is Hells Gate National Park there are obsidian mines where early humans mined for the volcanic glass to make early tools. Itโ€™s a beautiful and interesting area.

Very vibrant place to be! Boat rides, hippos, and a variety of birds. Giraffes and waterbucks linger on, not at all scared of the human activities. And to top it off, a meal of the freshest tilapia, fried as you wait. Great place!

Wonderful bird life to sample. A boat ride will surely worth your while. Safety first though, avoid boating very late in the evening, the winds tend to turn the waters rough!

Most wonderful lake In nakuru County that I have seen. It has an island in the lake where I saw animals from the boat. Gazelles, zebras etc.... One can also go on the island to see more. I Also saw lots of hipppo in the water and also on the shore. As for those who are interested in watching birds, this is the best place for that too, I saw many types of birds while boating but there is a resort on the shores of the lake where one can see hundreds of birds species. I got live fish direct from the fishing boat, at reasonable price. Recommended entrance for boating in this lake is hippo point. No entry fees. Only boating charges which are quite fare also.

(Translated by Google) After your visit in Kenya to the Naguru Lake Reserve, a white rhinoceros conservation center, do not forget to go to the Naivasha Lake Nature Reserve, a hippopotamus conservation center. It is not that the hippopotamians are left too overwhelmed, in fact, even the boat trip through the populations of hippopotamus your guides will do it very carefully, and at a distance of sufficient security, given the bad fleas and agility that these animals have in Water; and if you are lucky enough to walk through this lake at sunset you will see one of the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen with the wonderful reflections of the sunset sun over its calm waters (Original) Tras tu visita en Kenia a la Reserva del Lago Naguru, centro de conservacion de los rinocerontes blancos, no dejes de ir a la Reserva Natural del Lago Naivasha, centro de conservacion de los hipopotamos.

One of the best places to visit on the rift valley basin. Fresh water with scenic views of the escarpment on one side as well menengai crater on the other. Boat rides will take you to the islands within the lake although some are privately owned. Wildlife, lots of them n lastly enjoy fresh fresh after your boat ride. Very tasty unlike zile samaki za China mnakula Nairobi ambazo zina strong mature bones na zimekaa 1 month kwa meli while being shipped into the country.
