    Absolutely disappointed! Paid $50 each per adult and There wasn't enough food, they were dishing out our food with a tablespoon, one scoop per plate, I was declined a second scoop. Also there were diners who didn't get to eat because they ran out of food. It rained and no proper shelter, we got wet. Never dining here again.

    {"0":"Had buffet lunch here on a Sunday. Food was okay & enough & the portions of food was worth $50 and even takeaway after the buffet.\n\nAnyways, this place is beautiful & the view of nature is amazing! The interior designs & the work of art is luxurious. The resort is high from the ground you can climb down to see the beach & more","2":["0","131"]}

    Enjoyed the hospitality, service, entertainment and food. Food was delicious but the pig could’ve been cooked a bit longer. Buffet wasn’t what I expected (being my first time at a buffet in Tonga). We were served with one tablespoon of food from all the dishes. However, you can go up for more if you’re not full. Entertainment was awesome, especially the MC/Live two man band. We really enjoyed the songs that they sung. One thing that needs improvement, is asking people beforehand if they want their photos taken or not. We were sitting there eating and someone just popped up with a camera pointed at us. We don’t like having our photos taken especially to be posted on public platforms so it was a bit of a surprise that we didn’t really have a say.

    We had an amazing tradition Sunday buffet style lunch at Katea Retreat on our recent 4 day trip to beautiful Tonga. They also do Friday night dinners. Food was yummy, service fantastic and the best thing was being able to spend time on their beautiful beach before lunch! An absolute must, one of the best on the island you will not be disappointed. You must book lunch/dinner as it is often booked up. We had the best trip to Tonga. See zoe_wood on Instagram for more Tonga content I am determined to share the beauty of this beautiful country as not many people seem to visit and they are missing out!

    {"0":"Went for the Sunday buffet lunch when I was in Tonga at the end of May. and the food was delish the cocktails were even better but the VIEW was stunning. The live entertainment was a nice touch. The owner was so friendly and explained about the carvings and how he is also an artist and made most of the pieces in the restaurant.\n\nWill definitely go again for dinner on my next trip.","2":["0","240"]}

    {"0":"During my stay in Tonga I went to have lunch buffet at this beautiful place. I'll start with saying that this place has awesome food that you don't really get to try at all or too often. There were some local options and some internal options. You will definitely have to book a table in advance or else risk heading to the south most point of Tongatapu just to turn back. The lunch that we went to started at 2pm or so, quite late for lunch but still worth the experience. When the buffet opened, ever started lining up and the staff there will scoop the food onto your plate for you. By the time you make it through the table, you'd have a mountain plate of food. There was 4 of us and we all ate our first plate enjoying the live music, but by the time we were finished the staff had taken the trays back already so gotta eat fast if you want a second serving. Surprisingly we were filled up to the perfect level. After that we went down and walked along the beach which is amazing.\n\nOne comment about this place though. As a culinary guy, I found staff chewing gum whilst on service quite distracting and unprofessional.\n\nOverall, Great place and you should definitely come once at least just to chill out and try some of the authentic food here and the view.","2":["0","234"]}

    Such a great buffet, location and entertainment. The owners Sami and Sheila are also amazing people and so accommodating with requests. This was a work trip for me and I needed to provide catering for high end clients and they came through top notch! Incredible food, some of the best on the island.

    Not much open in Tonga on a Sunday, so went here for lunch. Tongan banquet was fantastic with heaps of food for everyone, even though it was packed. Lots of people went for seconds. Empty beach for a swim and a rest after lunch, fabulous.

    Had a really good time 😍 especially catching the sunset 😍 a very beautiful view that just really made my night. The food was great. Staff are so friendly and helpful. The owners are amazing as they are there checking on all their guests and seating them 🫶🏻 they have this cute little live music going on which you’d request a song for them to sing and they would also dedicate it to who you’d tell them to. They also have flo show of tauoluga and skits 😍😍 when I come back to Tonga I’m totally visiting again. Such a beautiful view except for the way there it’s dark and road is a bit bumpy but I mean hello Tonga government please provide some street lights as it is a place where a lot of tourists go. Anyways thank you Katea Retreat for the amazing experience 🥰

    Supper was so fresh and healthy, they have something for everyone! Loads of veggies plus seafood, meat and all the flavors. I cannot wait to go back and look forward to trying their Sunday meal. I will return as often as my family likes!

    Made a booking via phone and was told it was confirmed. Drove out 40 minutes with my 10 month old baby and when we arrived (within the time frames we were told for lunch), they told us our table had been given away despite prior booking. Definitely won’t be returning. Poor customer service, don’t recommend
